Description

Travel ton Tibet was a children´s dream, especially when one read all e books of l´explorer Alexandra David-Neel. But it is necessary to accept all the conditions imposed by Chinese occupant. I feel hardily divided, it´s like making tourism in a prisioner´s camp. In the past, we see the Potala, the palace of Dalais LAMA´s, by far. Today is necessary to cross a long zone of barrackments and horrible constructions for finally seeing it. The historical center of Lassa is gradually destroyed. In front of the palate there was a splendid lake which reflected its beauty. Today, there is a giant square, in the style of place Tien Amen. The militars, the police force and the cameras of monitoring are everywhere. To have this sight of Potala, it is necessary to go up on the roof of Jokang Temple and to take this view, removing all it is horrible of the image… PS- I am a simple photographer, but want learn a little of Digital Art. What of differents softwares (Photoshop, Terragen, Brice, VUE …) can to transform it and give more impact? What you sugest? Thank you has all your interest and your wonderful comments!

I think visiting Tibet is on the top of many people's wish list, and it hurts my heart to hear they destroy this mighty view. Where do you live? you sprak french, but give us much of India. Am I wrong here? you seem to travel a lot, is it in your work? Cannot see from your avatar where you live. ...and thanks for all favs!!

Excellent mood and capture for a powerful and amazing place. There is no impact greater than your original photo. Every software plays with that. Photoshop lets you make it into a paper sculpture and then view it as if from 3 dimensions, but the play aspect must then be important, not the quality of the final result. You'll have to deal with artifacts from the process itself.

What a wonderful gallery you have. I first saw this scene in a very, very old copy of National Geographic Magazine...I have them all the way back to the first issue in October 1888. Your photograph is excellent. What a shame that the lake has been replaced by a huge square. Well done. Bill

Bravo !

Wonderful photograph of a palace I would love to see in person! It was worth the climb up to the temple roof to get this shot! Sorry that history has taken its toll on the beauty.

Aaaaaaah, the beauty of a zen capture. The clouds, the mountains, the atmosphere, the Potala...all so very impermanent. I am humbled. Thank you.
