Description

Travel ton Tibet was a children´s dream, especially when one read all e books of l´explorer Alexandra David-Neel. But it is necessary to accept all the conditions imposed by Chinese occupant. I feel hardily divided, it´s like making tourism in a prisioner´s camp. In the past, we see the Potala, the palace of Dalais LAMA´s, by far. Today is necessary to cross a long zone of barrackments and horrible constructions for finally seeing it. The historical center of Lassa is gradually destroyed. In front of the palate there was a splendid lake which reflected its beauty. Today, there is a giant square, in the style of place Tien Amen. The militars, the police force and the cameras of monitoring are everywhere. To have this sight of Potala, it is necessary to go up on the roof of Jokang Temple and to take this view, removing all it is horrible of the image… PS- I am a simple photographer, but want learn a little of Digital Art. What of differents softwares (Photoshop, Terragen, Brice, VUE …) can to transform it and give more impact? What you sugest? Thank you has all your interest and your wonderful comments!

I have met Dalai Lama in person. It's a long story - soon it will be revealed - here at Renderosity. THERE SHOULD BE MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THE WORLD, "Mousson". Then we would all live on a better Planet Earth. Mats

Wonderful picture of the Potala Palace. You are so lucky to go before the Chinese tear it all down. A great historical picture.

Bon Dimanche, G.

Great image of a superb location. Sadly, the Western world chooses to ignore the steady destruction of Tibet by the Chinese, and the appalling human rights abuses that have become a daily way of life there. No-one wants to upset the largest remaining market on the planet, so leaders of the so-called "civilised" countries turn a blind eye to what is going on, and instead reward China with the Olympics and a race in the Formula 1 calendar. A sad comment on the way that the world is moving. Aum Mani Padem Hum

Impressive scene. The image is really good but it could be enhanced using a photo editing program. I don't know much about them. I know however that Photoshop is probably the best... and the most expensive! There's a cheaper version called Photoshop Elements. Or you could try Paint Shop Pro as someone said. There are free versions of them so you can download and try them before buying. I wouldn't go into 3D programs unless you want to create your own landscapes or you want to put people on your images and use your photos as backgrounds.

What an awesome shot and what a great panorama. Don't change anything just leave it the way it is. It only would loose the great impact it has it now:)
