That's right, Renderosity's Bryce Forum has won the Award for Best Forum on the Web for the year 2002! Well, O.K., so I made it up...but if there is such an award this forum should win it. This award goes out to the mods and everyone else here...you're all winners from my P.O.V.!

This is my new best friend, Cujo. I think she is a Daschund/Chihuahua mix, and a bottomless pit, LOL. She's about the size of one of my shoes, (size 11) and about 3 months old. I got Cujo at the local animal shelter. Believe it or not, somebody threw her away because,"she wouldn't stop peeing on the porch." Here is the model I built of her and rendered in Bryce (yeah, right). If you have room in your home and heart, there's someone like this waiting for you at your local animal shelter. I had to take 4 pictures of her before I finally got something besides a black and tan blur. :^)

She's a Doll, glad she found a human to take care of. :)

She looks like a Miniture Pinscher, very cute! The wash cloth behind her is a nice touch for size comparison.;)

Oh and Thanks for the Award thought. I agree wholeheartedly! The Bryce forum is one kick*** place to be:)

Cujo is precious! And one lucky girl!

Cute little puppy. Looks like she would fit in the award quite nicely. I don't have to go to the pound. All my pets have walked in out of the desert.( 19 cats and 1 dog )

tjohn ( ) posted Wed, 01 January 2003 at 11:55 AM

GG: Hey, with 19 cats and 1 dog, you ARE an animal shelter. You own the dog, but the cats own you. At least that's the main difference between them as pets as experience has taught me. I love cats and dogs, both, but dogs love you back, cats tolerate you at best. (Cat lovers, don't think I'm choosing sides, I'm only joking: the only reason I don't have a cat now is that Baby (my cat's name) was a shared cat with my Mom and Dad when I lived in a trailer next door to them, and they would be sad without her. After Cujo gets a little more mature I'll be looking for a kitten to keep her company.) :^)

What a coincidence. The first cat that wandered in to escape the coyotes we named Baby. I never used to be a cat person. It was strictly dogs and birds for me. But now I love cats and cats love my puppy dog. Even the feral cats that live outside love my puppy dog and come up and rub against her when she goes outside.

Tjohn, I am a cat lover and you are right. Cats tolerate their people. I have 3 cats and they all own us.:) My dog an American eskimo has to be right with us all of the time. He just looks for ways to please us. Great dog as far as dogs go.;)

Cats are precious creatures and I know that they keep their distance unless they actually feel like getting close to you but that's what makes them such good company. My cat Willie, who died last year, always knew when I was down and would treat me well at those times, ie. extra special cuddles etc. I miss him terribly and although I would love another cat I feel it is too early to go looking for one, if I got another cat now I feel like it would be a betrayal of him, but maybe sometime soon. Enjoy your animal friends 'cos they are the best friends you are ever likely to have. Catlin

Colette, my cat (which I got when he was so tiny the vet thought he was a girl) follows me all around the house. I go to the kitchen, he's right behind me. I go to the bathroom, he's there immediately. Yes, he's only five months old, but still... At the moment he's recuperating from the fright all the New Year fireworks and explosions caused. :-) tjohn, you're not afraid she will live up to her name? :-D

Catlin: Sorry about your loss, I don't know how old you are and would never be so rude as to ask , but at 49, I have found that the best way to recover from the loss of a pet is to find a new one as soon as possible. I don't think your precious Willie would feel betrayed. He enjoyed the love you obviously had for him, and love cannot be diminished by sharing it with more than one, only multiplied. Those with two children do not give half their love to each, but all their love to both. And somewhere, a kitten waits for your love. Be well.

Well said tjohn.

tjohn, all my pets are "throwaways", from the pound, the last kitten or puppy in the box at the grocery store, people have actually tied animals to my porch railing, yup, 9 cats, two dogs, 4 bunies at present... Catlin, I'm sorry for your loss, I know the pain...but tjohn's right about finding a kitten immediately, here they get 3 days and if they aren't claimed by someone within that time they are killed. My oldest of 18 yrs passed away this past August, he was one of a litter who's time was up, I was upset that I couldn't take them all...I took six kittens from different litters that day, but if I could have, I would have taken them all. Animals even follow me home...a stray cat dumped three litters with me last year, I delivered them all and the ones I kept are just like dogs, they need to be with me at all times and are super affectionate...

Yeah, tjohn, she's beautiful! I've got four dogs, three cats and four cockerels (long story) myself - they're my family, much to the despair of my long-suffering husband! I'm trying to find a home for a one year old spayed black lab/collie cross right now (I'd take her myself but the hubbie has finally drawn the line!) - so if anyone in Ireland is looking for a dog...just let me know! (Also three Jack Russell crossed with whoknowswhat puppies - people keep asking me to find homes for their animals!)

catlin_mc ( ) posted Thu, 02 January 2003 at 6:12 AM

Thanks tjohn, GG, Zhann, I don't mind telling that I'm 41 and you are all probably right I feel really empty without that tickle round the ankles when I walk around the house and the look and purr that says "it is now time for dinner" when I enter the kitchen. All cats I've had have come from The Cat Protection League, which is a charity here in Scotland whose sole purpose in life is to look after lost and abused cats and find them good homes. Maybe I should go visit them next week for a cuddle experience. Thanks all. Catlin

What a cut little doggie! We've got a doggie living with us too. It's a real 100% Chihuahua.

I have mixed up cat/dogs (or maybe they're dog/cats). I rescued a tiny kit, and my old collie adopted it. In his term when we got a new pup, the cat brought it up and taught it all sorts of things. He is now doing the same with my new pup, who gets very frustrated when Tiggy climbs trees and looks down at him and laughs. Tiggy also comes for walks with the dogs, and shows them how to catch mice.
