madriver ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 6:45 PM · edited Wed, 04 December 2024 at 10:57 AM

The morons charged my card twice when I was trying order mimic 2 and the new flip hair---then tell me the card is no good. Tell that to my bank which has already deducted two payments!! This makes the second time DAZ has screwed up a simple order. Now I have to wait until monday to get my order filled!! AARRRGGHHH! Beware!

Caly ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 7:28 PM

They have a 1 800 number... is it just 5pm over there? They might still be around. When do they usually send out the Newsletter? Or is that automated, I wonder....

joffry ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 8:15 PM

same thing just happened to me, they said card was no good, and I just checked and it cleared already :)),, they are not going to get me double though. Really should know better than to shop on Friday night.. will wait till monday, ..

Moonbiter ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 9:17 PM

Oh crap! I tried like 5 or 6 different times, with two cards to buy something it told me: There was a problem processing your card. Reason: [Set to Declined by Storephront - failed MD5] This transaction has been approved. If you believe the card should be working, please contact us and we will assist you. Your card was authorized for the amount. It better not charge me all those times especially when I didn't get a valid confrimation or a download link. BTW can anyone find away to cancel an order?

madriver ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 10:05 PM

They're going to have a lot of refunding to do...

thorntoa ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 10:34 PM

Yep the the same thing just happened to me. I had problems on an order last week. It seems that there new system isn't working very well. Moonbiter -- I wouldn't worry about Daz -- their customer support is good and they have always ironed out problems for me quickly -- though this always happens to me on a Friday so I have to wait till Monday. . . Arghhhh Frustration

I wonder if Daz and RDNA use the same CC processor... both my visa cards were declined at RDNA last night.. but just 30 mins before we accepted here an rendorosity. I KNOW I have the money available.

pokeydots ( ) posted Fri, 30 May 2003 at 11:20 PM

I had same problem earlier (Set to Declined by Storephront - failed MD5) I called daz and the problem was the card processor didn't like the fact my address was on 2 lines. They sent me my download link, but my card hasn't been charged yet.

What's with these people. Why did they change the set-up they had? It seemed to work fine. I just ordered and they said my card was no good. What has Friday night got to do with anything? Their system should work on week ends.

The Daz Store has gone through a complete makeover. make sure you look at your profile and check your address. when I loged into the new store and checked, my address was messed up, maybe this is the problem I dunno, I haven't bought since I fixed my address (waiting for paycheck to clear). I did notice that on the old store on wed and friday nights when the new products were put up that the check out and store would go through a space warp continum thingy for a while and then warp out and go back to normal. I always waited til next day. I'm sure it will get fixed asap, Daz wants your money haha! I want my money too so I can give it to Daz. my 2 cents

leather-guy ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 12:34 AM

SothArtist I originally had problems at RDNA checking out, but since I started entering my CC# with no spaces, I've had no problems there. Don't know if it's related to your trouble, but might be worth a try.

SothArtist ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 12:37 AM

Ahh that could very well be it leather guy! I did use spaces... Thanks for that! will give it a try :))

SothArtist ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 12:57 AM

You were spot on leather guy :) Just did it with no spaces and it worked fine! Thanks again!

Hanz ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 1:01 AM

Had the same problem at DAZ's earlier, maile AnneMarie White, who fixed things in a manner of minutes...now I only hope that my card isn't charged more than I purchased for. But even if my card is overcharged, I'm sure the nice people at DAZ will stand on their heads if thats what it takes to correct things... -Hanz

Just adding my name to the list of people who are having problems with the DAZ store at present. I've tried to get in several times this week and got a 'closed for maintainance' page at some stage during the process. The most annoying was just a few minutes ago. I'd reached the checkout with all my stuff, entered all the details, then clicked on the final order button. And THEN I got the wretched 'closed for maintainance' sign. So now I don't know if they got my Visa details or not. I think I'll take a holiday from DAZ shopping until they sort their software out.

ender22 ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 3:54 AM

Morphy -- if they got your order, it will show up in your account info. You can click the head icon, and there's a link to see all the orders you've placed. You can see if it includes one from just then or not.

Djeser ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 4:58 AM

I emailed to ask where you could reset your password on your account page...no answer yet. No link to do it that I can find. Very strange.

Bought this morning a whole bunch of stuff at DAZ with CC, no problems at all. Yep, I also got the "closed for maintenance" between two shopdownloads, I tried again one hour later and continued my downloads without problems.

khorne ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 6:32 AM

i had problems last weekend to buy AMG DIGI clone and the problem has not been solved yet. I got the files but the order has not been filled yet. It seems not to be a problem with the CC but maybe a communication problem between CC checkers and DAZ. But this is hypothetic .

joffry ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 6:37 AM

Overnight the problem cleared itself. This morning I got the links for download.. And that was just by doing nothing, just waiting.

Caly ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 9:27 AM

I had troubles last week, but when I changed my address so that it didn't have a comma after the Street and before the Apt., it started working just fine. This week's order went through without a hitch.

We apologize for any delayed orders or inconveniences that people have experienced as we've transitioned to our new store software. Currently, the "MD5 checksum" error that many of your have receieved recently is a bug of our cc authorizing company "authorize.net" and we're being forced to deal with it. In the event this happens, please do not continue trying to process your order, just wait and with some manual intervention our sales team should be able to complete the order for you. In the meantime, everyone should double-check their addresses as many were crammed into one line during the database switch, etc. And any commas in the address fields, or periods in the First of Last Name field should be removed to help avoid any verification errors. Oh yeah, and NEVER put spaces in your creditcard number! ;) Thanks, Steve Kondris DAZ Productions, Inc.

Yeah, the DAZ sites sucks big time these days but they are aware of it. Ya only have so many warm bodies and always way too many projects. I'm just trying to avoid the DAZ site until sometime in the future. I had several items on my cart a week or so ago and got so frustrated with the dynamic page problem and auto logging out when you hit BACK and whatever that I just gave up and abandoned the items and went shopping elsewhere. Didnt' get exactly what I wanted but it was a more professional experience. DAZ customer service is excellent though and they catch a lot of heat with perfect aplomb. Quite admirable but a prospective online buyer shouldn't have to go through all the hoops just to buy something, verify their card isn't charged twice, etc, etc. Ok, enough dissing of a bad site, it'll hopefully improve in time! In the meantime, I find a lot of good stuff at RIGHT HERE at RENDEROSITY (note the dramatic capitals! can I suck up or what? lol) PoserPros, and other places. Steve

Spit ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 10:52 AM

I've had no trouble at all since the new site went up. Guess my address is simple enough. :) And now that I found the wishlist link on my accounts page I'm in heaven! LOL

Moonbiter ( ) posted Sat, 31 May 2003 at 1:16 PM

I just wanted to let people know that on my end it appears DAZ got my order all straightend out. I got up this morning and found an order confromation and a download link for the files I ordered. Yay! It also appears, that I was only charge once. Again Yay! I never had a problem with the old site. Since this was the first time I'd used the new system, my first impression isn't all that good, but I do thank Steve and DAZ for getting me fixed up.

JenX ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 8:34 AM

figures, my first post here in almost a year, and it has to do with work. I work for a credit card company in the fraud department, and it just sounds like a simple glitch in the system at DAZ. If it doesn't go through, call the toll free number that they give. if it's late, then wait until the morning. But, if you have problems at more than one place, call the number on the back of your card to see if it has been blocked for any reason. Oh, and another tip, it's a good thing to wait until day time or even work hours to buy something from a site that DOESN'T have 24 hour customer service. If you have a problem, they can fix it right away, rather than you waiting until the next day, or later. Or, just use paypal, if they accept it. Paypal has 24hour customer service, and it DOESN'T link directly into your credit card, you have to put the money in it. Just in case some jackass decides to hack the Daz site to get numbers. ~shadow

ssalter ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 8:41 AM

Yes, PayPal is pretty nice. It adds an extra layer of protection between the consumer, internet, and merchant. Of course, if the PayPal site gets hacked there'll be hell to pay but I would imagine they have more stringent security than the average merchant site. A lot of sites don't use PayPal because their eCommerce solution can't pick up the credit verification from PayPal. A lot of carts just have hooks into Verisign, Cybercash or whatever. It really isn't a tough thing to add if your shopping cart isn't a black box though.

JenX ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 8:46 AM

Verisign is a good way to tell legit from non legit companies (yes, there still are some out there). Also, if you're not comfy working with paypal, or a site you use doesn't accept paypal, well, there is also getting a low limit card for exclusive online purchases. Yeah, it's a pain, but, well, if it's a small limit and someone gets your info, well, they don't have much to play with, do they? But, paypal is getting a bit better. At least it's not going the way of flooz (and the other half million "net money" sites there were). ~shadow

ssalter ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 8:58 AM

A low limit credit card. That is a VERY good suggestion. I dunno why I never thought of that. I actually have a low limit one I have never used. Doesn't cost me anything to keep so I just stuck it in a drawer for "an emergency". :) All I have to do is throw away the 'zero balance' statement and interminable ads they keep snail mailing me. There have been times I have hesitated using my main card online, partially because I let myself get scammed a couple times. No big damage but I had to shutdown my account, get a new card issued and so on.

hauksdottir ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 9:01 AM

I really like PayPal... I pay with money I have, the merchant gets instant notice that the funds have been transferred, and I get my download often within minutes. So far it has been hassle-free.

JenX ( ) posted Sun, 01 June 2003 at 9:01 AM

it is a big hassle sigh and I do it every day...... lol, it's actually not as big of a problem as some people might think, it's just that, well, there are some pretty dishonest people out there, from straight up theives (the kind I prefer) to sneaky theives. Oh, and if you don't use that card ever, it might be a good idea to call and ask if it's still an "active" card before you use it, lol, and get embarrassed by a blocked card message.

Well after a bit of mucking about and calling the USA from Germany, I got my download sorted out. If you're having troubles with your transaction, try retyping your address and card number. Worked for me. No download problems either. later jb
