I have not $6.8MILLION USD, but  $50 million from any country in Africa. 
All I have to do is send to them something like U$ 5,000.00 to pay some taxes and rates, then I'm a millionaire. It's aninheritance from someone I never knew, but I am the heir.

Don't go on a spree with all this money!  

It isn't fun anymore if you get 10 of those each day; I'm glad I have a good spam-filter.
Some weeks ago the amsterdam police arrested a gang of 30 nigerian hackers who was responsible for a big amount of that phising mail. I can't imagine that anyone takes this nonsense serious, but whatever you do: don't react! just throw it away.

I know one person who, against all advice from several people, got taken in on one of these scams. He received an email that he was the sole heir on 9 million dollars. That alone should have told the story, who would he know from Nigeria? He was told all he had to do was send them $100.00 U.S. dollars and it would be waiting in a box at the airport. He sent it and then they said he needed to send $200.00 more. I told his Mom to tell him it is a scam. But he wouldn't listen, he got someone to lend him that $200.00 and he's still waiting. Maybe his Mom should hit him upside the head with a 2x4 and see if that makes an impression. shrug

My mother in law got one and while she was suspicious, she was also greedy enough to consider it. She showed it to my hubby. He sent an email back saying he was interested but would not do that kind of buisness over the internet. The "lawyer" said he needed to come to whatever country it was under fasle pretenses and an assumed name and he would get 30% of the money. He never went.

Yeah, sorry to say, my mom fell for the 'nigerian milions' one. luckily we set her straight before she lost anything, but we had to change all of her banking info, as she did go as far as sending someone her checking account number.

The U.S. Inland Revenue is also going to give me a large refund, which is very nice of them seeing as I live in the UK, have never been to the US, and have never paid any US taxes. Boy am I taking everyone for a sucker this week!

Oh Lord connie, sounds about as bad as a couple of fellas I met in my lifetime (only they didn't have a pennie to their names).
One, when Ii was 17, tried to force me to a Justice of the Peace for a wedding. Mom called him and put a stop to that.
He said he was only trying to do me a favor. 

Well at least these digital guys can't do us that way...heheh.

I've been keeping track, for the last six months, of how much money I'm supposed to have won/inherited/can be mine for only a little bank fraud.

I get them nigerian scams every day, I reply to every one of them too, right now I have an email from one who is coming to England to chop my head off because I wont send him the money he needs to get $5,000,000 out of the country. I mean I wouldn't even get out of bed for less than $20,000,000. :D

For an excellent book on how to avoid internet scams, just send a check for €500.00 to my address!

Yeah, the 'nice' (or 'carrot') scam e-mails aren't working quite as well as they used to.......so some of them are beginning to use threatening language instead.  The nasty death-threat type e-mails probably don't work so well either -- but it's still worth a shot for the scammers.

A couple of hundred bucks can be a lot of money in places like Nigeria and Kenya.  So if the scammers can get 1 person in every 2000 to respond to their e-mails then it's still been a worthwhile effort from their point of view.

Lately I've been getting alot of ones that say one or two words like

A fun packed New Year 2008 bash

And have a link. Being an old fogey I have never clicked to go the "bash".  Sigh, I guess I lack a sense of adventure.

Too many trojan and virus bugs just from someone getting past my firewall a few times have taught me to be v-e-r-y cautious (hmm, is that spelled right?).

After a few e-mails I got and telling me that I was the last family member of a Nigerian freedom fighter who gathered millions and is leaving that to me (Uncle Baloe???) and I won a few lottery's and free shopping spree's, I also got some mails to get a cheaper mortage (even I rent a house >.<)
On top of that there is a shipload of cute girls who want to meet me becouse they think I look cute (dont tell them its not me in my ava ;-) and some Rusian girls who want to merry straight away.
To keep up with them I can get cheap pills to keep litle willy standing at attention.
To have a good time with the girls and the pills I can go to some leisure (s/c) thingy and spend my uncle Baloe's hard earned cash, together with a few bottles of cheap wine.

Well it looks I go face a live hard, die young life.
Now it only needs some planing to get it all together and starting on one day ;-)

The last one I was tempted to reply to was a dating scam of the send your picture type. Somehow, I think they might have noticed something odd about the picture I might have sent.

After using my fake rolex to time my improved perfomance from those "little blue pills", the spammers kindly sent me an offer this morning for discounted wheelchairs !
