Subject: Supermodel Vickie question, Jim, anyone?

praxis22 ( ) posted Tue, 19 June 2001 at 2:17 PM · edited Fri, 08 November 2024 at 7:38 PM

Hi, Well I bought Supermodel Vicky, and, as the English saying goes, "nice legs, same about the face" (go ahead, flame me, I can take it :) So I tried to add a full facial morph, which results in the whole face moving down, but the eyes stay where they were, I experimented a little, but nothing in depth. Then I got into installing more stuff I've not re-installed since windows last snuffed it, namely Black Canary, and then started an extensive "dicking about session" that resulted in something I'll upload when I'm nearer to a box with a floppy drive :) So, anyone know how to rebuilt a supermodels face, or am I going to have to learn how to do a head transplant :) Oh yeh, while I remember, if you have the means, buy Brigit from the store, now that's what I call a "cute" Vicky model :) later jb

When you did that did you "add morph target" using an object file? Due to the fact that SMV is taller than Victoria I can see whey this would happen.

Instead, use Morph Manager to transfer the morph from an existing Victoria cr2 to a copy of SMV's cr2.

InBlack ( ) posted Tue, 19 June 2001 at 2:53 PM

Jim released a morph on his site that sets SMV's face back to the original Vicky face. Then you can use morph manager or a text editor to copy morphs from vicky or vicky 2 to SMV's head.

InBlack and JKeller are correct, if you use any object file morph for regular Vickie face it also resets the face to regular Vickie as a by-product.

Hi, Well I tried last night to move the eyes too, but they don't work right if you move them, (naturally :) Is the morph on BBay, or elsewhere? Cheers for the info though :) I think I've got morph manager on a CD somewhere, as my access is a bit curtailed at present, depending on which 'net cafe I'm using, (and hence whether I have access to a floppy or not :) thanks again later jb

It is at my webpage, per the link. The morph puts SMMV's face back into the default Vickie shape, so the Vickie II face morphs work as expected, but the it is sized up to the correct size (regular Vickies head is too small). There are also a couple of eye morphs that get the eyes into the right position, more-or-less. I actually used MS word to get the Vickie II head morphs into SMV's CR2.

Cheers, Did a search for your name and found the site it via that, got it open now, though I think I'll have to depart to the other 'net cafe to download, how big are the downloads, as I need to know how many floppies to buy :) later jb

Its nice that these things can be tweaked, and I am still rather stunned that having bought Victoria 2, I find that she's detailed but rather ugly and unpleasant to look at. So I will have to buy some characters for her as well as clothes, and the bill is climbing rapidly. I think Posette, unaltered, default character, looks nicer. So I will try and change things. On that note, I was impressed that zygote got a real model and scanned her nude to get a perfect female texture, and so I parted with more good money, but the only tex map I can find, looks like someone painted it quickly with a pink airbrush. Photorealism? Unless the real texture is hidden and if so, then how can I put a mole or tattoo on her? Hopefully not connected to the model hired, the 3d geometry of Vicky leans towards her being rather wider in the middle than previous versions. In fact I can't make her look slim and athletic using any dials I find, which I was really hoping to do - most realistic model ever made etc - unless this means she secretly eats chocolates too! There's a 'look' for a character I need V2 for, that has a very very toned tummy. I saw a girl who would be more than adequate jogging the other day. Yet Victoria's tummy doesnt seem to want the tight toned, stretched look with the hint of eight hens eggs poking slightly up, that an athletic look gives. It looks rather angular when you hit the dials that way. I am really hoping this is my incompetence and its not that Im expecting too much. Thanks! flames welcomed. I know what I paid for and I think we all want the realism and flexibility. Maybe I need SMV? Dunno. SMV (if ok on V2) + Zoe? = $50 more? ... nb/ whilst I'm here, is zygote big enough to have the tech to make characters based on real people accurately? Like, if they got the money to get Anna Kournikova or Britney to pose nude for their guyz for a week whilst they spun their parameters, and lie on the scanner or whatever, then could zygote offer really accurate models of those people? If not, ok. If its possible, and if you're saying too much cash, then why not someone not famous but nontheless real, so you could see from comparative photos just how real the model was, and so I couldn't say that Vicky default doesn't really look like anyone, and thats why I need to buy a character for her (but does Zoe look really real either??)

Hi, Well I can vouch for the fact the SMV is indeed "fit" to use a British aphorism :) I bought the pack, but as noted above at the start, I got sidetracked, so appart from a little tweaking with the face I've not used her all much, though I did find a use for her undies and the texture that is used for the bra, (such is life :) I loved the chocolates comment though! :) As for nudes of X or Y via poser, I doubt they would ever pay enough, certainly not when you consider what Playboy would pay anyway :) But if you want nudes why not do what everyone else does and fake it. That was actually an idea that came to me, why not simply graft a photo of the head onto a posed body, that way you could shape the pose to the image, instead of grafting one head onto a different pose/body, and hoping the pose is close enough so that it looks at least reasonable. I used to do that sort thing as a callow youth, never worked very well, but I was using Digipaint on an Amiga 500, (with cheese wedge, remember that :) Personally I prefer to look at them with thier clothes on these days, it really is better to conceal than reveal :) I'd avoid nudes of Ms Lopez on general principal, there is such a thing as too much hype, it is after all, just another Latina? body, looks much like the next I should imagine. Now if somebody was willing to pay the stars body doubles to get scanned, who would know the difference? ;) Though Quagnon has a very good Britney for Vicky in freestuff somewhere, should you feel the need :) later jb

Actually, I find the Zygote texture to be very realistic. Remember that a photo real render does not always mean you slap a photo of someones knees on the texture itself. Many textures that are photo's put into the texture maps looks stretched and deformed when put on a poser figure in 3-d... or thet don;t interact with light the right way... or thet degrade heavily when you get too close because the photo they used was itself not high enough resolution. The daz maps look good where it counts, on the model, in 3d - not in photoshop :)

praxis22 ( ) posted Wed, 20 June 2001 at 12:34 PM

One of the best "photoreal" textures I've seen is Noa, (available in the store, bought it, can't remember who it's by... sorry :) It doesn't look like that much when you open it with image preview, but on the figure it's fairly amazing. Another one of my favourites is Solo22's "Fara" texture on the P4 femme, now if only somebody could make Vicky look like her... later jb

jb- The head morph is pretty small - 330K or so. Anyway, has anyone else found the stock Vicke I (Vickie II is a little better, not much) depressing when you first open her? That face, those pipestem legs, that build, and the crouch she is in doesn't help much either. Some people have done great work by just twisting the dials, but they seem to be better at it than I am.

praxis22 ( ) posted Thu, 21 June 2001 at 2:45 PM

Thanks Jim, I downloaded the stuff yesterday, spanned over about 8 disks, except the one I forgot, came back to pick it up today :) I agree about Vicky though, I've got both, and I still spend more time dicking about with posette based characters, they're just so much more attractive... it's not untill you've spent a while trying to improve Vicky that you realise just how attractive Posette really is straight out of the box, especially with one of Staale's maps applied. I shall try to upload my new image tomorrow, after that, I'm off again for a while, got to sort out my new job at a bank in Frankfurt, (I.T bod :) start July 1st later jb

Oh, while I remember is there anyway, I can get an object to load, besides removing the rsr and trying again? I tried that, and re-installing the lingerie pack, (the .obj in question is the g-string) refuses to load no matter what I do... later jb
