For what you are trying to do I think it would be easier to create the cube in the modelling room and then UV map it. Export the UV map and create the texture via an external image editor then load the completed texture to your cube.
But that is just the way I would do it my self. If you have any issues with UV mapping etc I would be happy to help you out by creating it for you.
So click in the UV editor (2)
Select the Box face in mapping dropdown (3)
Set Full Box in the mapping options (4) and all images that you add to the object will replicate in every face. You dont need to export the UVmap since its a square image.

So why am I going through this excercise? I want to build on this idea and make a cool effect of some sort.
Maybe instead of a still image, using a video and projecting the samem video on all sides of the cube.
Or Multiple videos, each video shown on each side of the cube face.
And while this is all happening, maybe have the cube rotate in all axis. :)
I appreciate the guidance from everyone on this thread, and I'm going to build on this in this same thread.
I'm at work now (yeah I know its saturday), but when I get home I'll try and post the video test i did.
I'm having diffuclty with video looping properly. I have a 2 second video and trying to have it loop on the face of the cube a bit longer.
I tried setting a Sine Wave in the tweening but didnt get the results I expected.
I'll post photos and hopefully a video clip to illustrate what I'm saying.
Attaching a screenshot for those who may also want to follow what I did.
So the next question is, when I tried to add the spin modifier, it spins too fast and I havent been able to figure out how to slow it down. I tried playing with the "Cycles per second" setting, but all I manged to do, was make the cube spin faster and even change directions.
one method is to use number of frames (n) in imported movie loop as number of frames in rotation of cube. at time 0 in carrara, the cube is 0 z-rot, at frame n it's 90, 180, ... 360 (as desired). then the rendered movie loops, rather than trying to rotate the object svl. times in carrara. in poser it's slightly different - render to frame n + 1 to get it to loop.
Alright here is the final result. I manged to crash the shader editor while making this. The Juggler is facing the wrong direction, but I can no longer edit the .car file to fix the texture.

As you can see in the video, I have build upon two concepts. One is to have rotating cubes spinning in all 3 axis not just one, and while that is occuring to have an animation projected on the cube.
I have a bigger project/picture in mind, this is just a small portion of it.
Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
PS: I wish rendo would allow embeding of youtube video into a forum post.
Yes, that is the famous Amiga Juggler animation, its amazing to think, the animation was all done with source code, without any of the tools we use today.
Thats the theme I'm going with, the entire video from start to end will be Retro looking and related to the Commodore 64 / Amiga.
Originaly I wanted to keep a secret and it somewhat is, since I dont mention it, out in the open elsewhere.
But I'm going to need to learn a lot and will need more help. :) I mean this simple looking animation took a bit of time to learn to make.
o.k., the secret is out. mum's the word. these anims get easier after the first 100 or so. rendo does not want users to embed in these posts (excepting sigfiles), but they allow flv posts in their gallery. the realisation is dawning on folks that flash embed is security risk, slows down whole page, and flash's days are numbered.

Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look at putting .FLV in Gallery, or I can try what you did with the Animated GIF.
I've got these animation ideas and effects that I know Carrara can do... now its just a matter of doing Brain to Carrara conversion :)

I just want to confirm something.
I wanted to apply a picture to a cube so that if I rotate the cube, you would see the same image in each face.
I created a top shader with Flat Mapping
I created a Texture Map under the flat mapping and was able to add the image.
No matter what I tried, I can only display the image on only one side of a face at a time.
So does this mean that what I"m trying to do is not possible?
Do I have to manualy create a cube?
