Subject: How many people would like to see more dynamic clothes?

Attached Link: Dynamic Egyptian Dress

Some of you may have noticed I've made the leap from making just props, to trying my hand at clothing. Now I've had 1 successful, conforming article of clothing, I am having trouble repeating my success. That being said, I am starting to prefer Dynamic clothes anyways all around for most things anyways. Does anybody else want more dynamic clothes? Especially for the male figures? I can make some fairly fast if no rigging is needed.

Here's what I've made the last 2 days. The top outfit's texture was a 5 minute job, as another person is going to make the final textures for it. The Egyptian dress was made today for another forum post I saw. And then there's already a dynamic evening gown in my freebies.

So, what's everyone's opinion? More dynamic clothes?

I would definitely be interested in styles like the top item: something you'd be likely to render in a non-fantasy scene. Nice work, btw, BR! 😄

Very nice!

Most of the clothes I make and buy myself are dynamic. Keep up the good work.

So that I can animate this painting, the painting is one of a series that I am hoping to animate.

Very nice dress - amazing how fast you did it. Thank you.

I tried a different color map I found via Google, and I applied my suede shader to give it some fuzziness.  I also used my metal shader for true reflections on the necklace.

BR, with your talent for dynamic clothing, you betcha!!!!!!  I really prefer dynamic clothing to conforming clothing BECAUSE  a V3 can fit a V4 and even Aylson or even Creech (with some creative alterations).  Jan

Well, if I had Poser 8 I could, otherwise I'd need some kind if obj that I can fit the clothes to. When I upgrade to Poser 8 tho, I will most definitely make some for him.

And BB, you can take anything anyone models and make it look better. I just threw together some quickie textures, if you couldn't tell. But I think I did okay for a few hours work.

Well, I guess it's agreed upon that dynamics are wanted, now, to get to work... Just need more coffee, brb...

Ok, I'm back... off to work I go... I never thought I'd be designing clothes, seriously.... lol

I would appreciate that too. What is Grappo who filed a request for dynamic jewelry in some thread? I support that too, the long necklace kind of stuff, especially with beads. Sleeves, long gloves, veils, coats, you name it. I'd like a more dynamic poser in any way.

I don't mind fantasy, as long as we're talking clothes, and not the lack of it :)

Thanks in advance.

Well I can see about picking up that figure so I can make some clothes for her. As for some dynamic jewelry, I had already thought about making some, it's on my to-do list. My first thought was to make some dynamic pearl necklaces.

Just a quick thought regarding dynamic clothing, I would prefer to see dynamic clothing that does the things conforming clothing doesn't do well. Even though dynamic is usually more realistic in all situations, the simple fact is that often I would rather use conforming clothing for simple pants and shirts because it is faster, easier, and still gives acceptable results. For long skirts, necklaces, and similar items, I would love more dynamic clothing!

I don't mind making freebies, but a guys gotta support his Poser habit somehow :oP  hehehe

Hey nothing wrong with making a few $$$$'s

I would make a few good freebees to get things started and find out what people like and then build a nice bundle based on that and submit to the Market Place.

Also think bout a theme like Egyptian or Native amer, or gen. office or evening wear.

Good luck to ya

Oh one quick question;  If you notice I seem to skip lines when ever I go to a new sentance; can you tell me how to stop this frm happening?

Dynamic clothes? Good looking, well mapped and modelled dynamic skirts, gowns, dresses, blouses and whatnot? I definitly like them better than conforming ones that can give you a lot of frustration when using a sit- or lay-pose.

...and yes: It's almost winter here and Antonia still sits around in shirt and panty!!

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

Here in freestuff, I think SVDL made a nice set. Look out for the V4 office set, it's great and has lots of options. And I know that there are some free dynamic lingerie sets for V3 as well. With some effort you should be able to use at least bra and garter for V4 as well.

Edit: I just had a look: SVDL's set should have everything you desire and more.

I have to work on the pearl necklace, it's not working like I want it. Bit I did manage to make a gold chain that works fairly well. It has Diffuse, Bump, Transparency, and a normal map, along with a texture for the "easy" route.  I'm sure someone else coul get it to look better, but I a too tired right now to muck about with material room settings right now.

Btw BionicRooster, what kind of method are you using to make your dynamic necklace?  Is it a single dynamic group?

I've seen some pretty nice dynamic bead necklaces that made the beads as hard decorated, connected to a dynamic string underneath. It looks awesome. :)

I also experimented with making a medallion, with a dynamic string attached to a a couple of single polygons with high bendning resistance. Then I attached the medallion as a hard decorated..  I never put it up anywhere though. It was a simple peace symbol hippie medallion...

I'm still tackling a few bugs with it, but it looks really cool in animations, since it's got weight and moves with the character.

And whether or not it sells would depend on the quality, I would think.

Hey guys; I know how to convert conforming clothing to Dynamic clothing and even to do partial conversions.  The link below shows you one example of partial conversio of DAZ MDF. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1775809&user_id=234433&np&np

My problem is this;  Can some one tell me how to set up my clothing so that I can mat different parts of it.   An example might be stockings -- I can convert conforming to dynamic but when I go to mat the stockings will be all one color or pattern.

Is there a way to set it up so that I can give the body of the stocking one color or mat and the top part which is most often darker another mat????????

ShaaraMuse3D ( ) posted Sat, 06 November 2010 at 3:16 PM

You can do this two ways.

  1. Make your own texture with all the details you need. That works well if the clothing is UV mapped.

  2. Use the group editor and create a group, say the top of the stocking, and make another material zone of it. Good if you use a lot of procedural materials. :)

Steeleyes101 ( ) posted Sat, 06 November 2010 at 3:22 PM

Grappo would it be possible for you to point me to a tut that can help me find and use the group editor please?

Ok, so I'm still making things for V4 and not M4 yet, but I made this today. It looks ok as a nightie, but I want to try and come up with some good dress textures as it as well an make it versitile. I'm trying to make proper textures now, and not all seperate maps. I made the textures 4096 x 4096, is that too big? Should I scale them down to 2048 x 2048?

I have it on reasonably good authority that textures of 2048 x 2048 is really plenty high enough for everything but extreme close-up work, and the RAM constraints of the poverty-stricken such as myself will thank you for it.
