Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 25 12:38 pm)
I guess it'll be simply impossible to beat all rats that come with morph transitions and the infinite possibilities that sit in there.
Any mathematical solution will always be an approximation. Luckily, thus the modelers amongst us won't get redundant.
Quote - It's uses for content creation can't be over rated. How much use the average artist will get depends on their expectations and skill.
Well put.
And I assume that of course the DAZ refitter is a far more advanced tool. No doubt. But I refuse to shift to DAZ because it doesnt have a python interface for me :). I also came in doubt about genesis, because of the morphing joints and weight map joints we will be more able to create custom characters easily, and with a bit of refitting, should it work which I hope, I think one can get some quite decent results still. And Gen4 meshes still have more polys, which I also like. I do not know when SR1 comes out, but I heard philc posted a script somewhere to convert a whole figure to weightmaps. Should they, maybe in a SR2, also allow python access to the individual weight data (to get or set it), then you could also blend smoothly across shapes without destroying the entire rig, I think. Either way, I think I'm done with regard to the refit for now. There are advanced methods that I can think of, but one milestone after the other. There is one memory leak I have to investigate, and to evaluate about shoes and gloves. Are there any free gloves somewhere? Regarding availability in a store: I am very careful with stores. I'd rather sell a few copies cheap through paypal with money-back-if-not-happy option, to find out if it would actually be regarded as a a benefit or not. I won't push a thing to a market place that doesnt create at least a bit of happiness. A small charge I would ask, to cover a part of my expenses and the burden of making it "round", and I will need some resource to research for a cross-fitting solution.

After having read a lot of horror stories about PayPal, I would not buy the Graal even if it was offered for 1$ if it was available only thru PayPal. Please consider solutions which can be accessed thru credit cards.

Not that this would belong here, but I'm using PayPal since 2005 for an average of 40 transactions ( 2-5 purchases, the rest sales) per week, without one single problem.
Hi Hannes,
Anton has some free gloves as part of the Apollo Epic Clothing Vol. 2 (the zip password is above the download links)...

I held off getting PML this past summer because I wanted to see what was new in the new Poser; I'm looking forwared to getting this added functionality...
As far as PayPal goes, I've been using it for nearly ten years for hundreds of purchases and have never had a problem.

The Wisdom of bagginsbill:
"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."What I liked with paypal is that there is a "send money back to sender" button. Thats all.
For Apollo Gloves, I could only do a short try but it seems to work. His cloths seem to have all the morphs already, but these were not dialed here. His fingers are spread when zeroed, that is also a good thing as the refitter can learn the proper shape more easily
If one really needs to, with a little extra effort one can xeno-refit with a helper figure. I box-modelled that in blender with a subsurface modifier and the shrink wrap/mesh relaxation, and I can adopt this dummy head to any figure in blender within a few minutes. After that is done, one can use the helper to refit xeno.

When I have a full body shape (going in sections here), I'll turn it into a FBM injection and send it your way ;)

Hey, CC, PML has an option to ignore+correct vertex orders, right?
The tools I'm using here don't allow symmetry... so the whole thing is asymmetric. Was wondering if I could cut it in half then mirror the entire geometry...

It's actually VERY asymmetric. I'm using Zbrush's Zproject tool for a tight fit, and it behaves very badly with symmetry, so I switched symmetry completely off.
How does the morph symmetry script work? Depending, it might be just what I'm looking for - for way too many projects.

OK release candidate is done, 32 and 64bit.
Known problem left: memory consumption. Restart of poser frees memory though. I do not know when I have the time to fix everything and make a nice manual.
But for private use, I think it should still do good, hopefully.
Some early couragous buyers wanted :D. Like said, paypal would be preferred, because I can easily refund you. $19 for both reverse deformation morph loader plus my autofit experiment. But for personal usage only until it has proven its doing well. No warranty, whatsoever. If interested, mail pml2012 at colorcurvature.com.
Poser Pro 2012 required. P9 is untested. The cloth refitter is not super-automatic like DAZ tools. You have to setup your figure/cloth twice, as shown earlier in this thread.
If there are some that would buy it and if you are happy, I would aim at getting it into a marketplace/rendo again, otherwise you get your money back and I retire :).
Gotta wait till I get paid from here Rendo and RDNA so I have some paypal money - dollars are ridiculously expensive for us brazilians right now.

Would love to test this one. :)
Email sent. :)

Antonia is symmetrical, at least within tolerable limits. I've used morph symmetry scripts with the figure frequently.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking. He apologizes for this. He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.
Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Ah thats good. When I fought with symmetry, I came to the conclusion that its a very interesting and challenging problem indeed. The DAZ4 were perfectly symmetrical. That helps a lot. If lots of noise is in it, then its very difficult to automatically find a good seed out of which the symmetry relation of the rest can be computed.
Other thing:
Anybody knows if we can get genesis out of DAZ with the (hidden) M4 V4 morphs? These could be used to refit cloths.
It's not done... can do it today though, already have Zbrush open fixing something else. But would you take care of making it symmetrical? Or how would I do that with PML, could I delete a side and mirror the other to replace it? If so, what options in PML should I use to make that work?

Colorcurvature, you're my hero :thumbupboth:
I'm especially interested in the morph loader. I heard it allows to import a morph target onto a posed and/or morphed figure. I really hope that's true because I was so missing this functionality in Poser!
Please keep us updated on your progress, I'll definitely buy it as soon as it's available

That functionality exists since the previous version of PML, which I used a lot. Works amazingly well ;)

Just get Daz Studio 4, Genesis is included. It's still free if I'm not mistaken, the base version is enough.

From DAZ Victoria 4 Basic wear refited first for Genesis in DAZ Studio with autofit
I export the refited clothing as OBJ and import that OBJ in Poser to setup a conforming cloth for the CR2 Genesis.
After that you can morph your Genesis as you want and use PML2012 to fit your custom morph.

The converted clothing can be exported using the included exporter and adjusted in your modeler of choice then re-import the corrected morph. You can also use poser's built in morph tool, but I find this isn't as versatile as a modeler for larger or more complicated adjustments, but works great for minor adjustments for poke thru and some smoothing. As with any of the morph/shape transfer tools it's necessary to do a bit of external work for perfect looks, but the "out of the box" conversion is a great starting point. It also fits to posed figures, morphed or base shaped, which is a great feature for still renders, although again it's not always a one step process, depending on the clothing and just how realistic a shape you are looking for. It's uses for content creation can't be over rated. How much use the average artist will get depends on their expectations and skill.
