For those wanting a non eyebrow head texture, you could always drop the head texture into a graphics program and use the clone brush and save that skin texture as a seperate file.

There are enough eybrow brushes about to do the job with a bit of scaling.

All the best.

I mean really!!!

Oh my God!

Some tme ago CP offered a free character called appropriately Big Pig that resembled these proportions. I use it in my images sometime but it's lack of realism keeps him out of y favorite character roster list.

What I mean by realistic is the way the elements are put together. DinoRaul does this beautifully creating Dinosaurs that seem believable and fantasy creatures that though are purely fantasy have a "Feel" of realism and go nicely with human or animal figures from the Real world we are more familiar with. If Big Pig had been created by DinoRaul I am sure it would have looked more "Realistic" and thus more marketable instead of the Toonsh hack job it was.

A good skin texture with no eyebrow option, and ideally if a fibermesh eyebrow prop also made by one of the ZBrush wizards out there

thanks

More or less what you can do with zBrush FiberMesh can be done with Posers Dynamic Hair.

Never used any of DAZ hair plugs yet so can't say about them.

The fun part would be mapping it all,if you wanted to texture them.

Not saying how any one else should do anything.
Just thinking out loud of different ways of doing something.

I have no probleams with textured eye brows.
We got App's for them to.

If you define realism in a figure in the meaning "not beautiful" (as there are extremely beautiful real persons), then the person must instead have personality, character. Without character the person is completely uninteresting. Just being realistic is not enough per se. Even a 7 year old understand that.

Hi Afrodite

Oh, I know. I was attempting humor. If the criteria for Dawn/Dusk was to be modeled after a REAL person-and they picked the fellow in the image-how many Dusk characters would sell? I predict very few.

I think you are lovely-as is Dawn! I personally would rather see an AfroditeOki morph/texture set for Dawn-

Frankly, having a base figure that is very attractive is a great idea. Her proportions ARE realistic-I always thought so.

I've known a few others with your real shape. Other shapes can be made with Dawn-I'm sure JoeP can do so!

Yes, subtile sarcasm always go through so well in this forum!

But anyhow. Dawn is by far the most interesting figure I ever seen in the Poser universum because she is not only beautiful but she also have personality and character. And technology too! It is really too much to be true. We must have done something right in our former lives.

On the other hand, if you mean like V4's brows, a second layer of polys for transmapped eyebrows, I agree completely, but I suggested it already many days ago and got no word from it.

BUT... if they were to put it by now, it would mean replacing the mesh, reworking the rig, and possibly having to remake all the face morphs. It'd be SO MUCH MORE delay.

You can do it with materials.

Is it possible to make 'conforming eyebrow' mesh? Basically just duplicate the polys containing the eyebrows make it its own figure?

So how is Dawn? I think she is mischievous and a little wicked. A very good thing to be it gives spice to a woman! But she is also warm and generous and above all, has a very big heart. She is not so organized as she would like to be and perhaps she is a little too found of going out, but then again who's perfect? Her style and taste on the other hand is impeccable. Even Jacky Kennedy would be jealous!

Her proportions look fine too me. I've seen women who are shaped like her. My only thought was that maybe she was a little short in through the waist, but what I've seen of the screen shots so far I have liked a lot. And this is from someone who was thrilled with Posette's body back in the day.

Yes, it's possible, but as it would only affect a hard area of a single body part, it might as well be just a prop.

But either prop or conforming, there would be the same problem: it'd have to come with all of Dawn's face morphs, and it would be troublesome for people who make custom morphs to make it follow. Annoying, to say the very least. The same for a possible tear-line prop. That's why I suggested her having both - if they're part of the head mesh, it gets just so much simpler.

But as I said, it's sadly probably too late. For brows, I can easily make do with alpha masks; but the tear line I was never able to mimic with shaders. It might be the only thing I miss from V4...

Context is everything so witin the context of this very LOOOOOONG thread should we all redefine "REALISTIC", real or whatever. How are we going to interject character or personality in a 3D figure.....and....why is it important to do so.

shante, let's be serious for a moment shall we?

When Chris Creek created Dawn which no doubt was a great effort, he must have consciously or subconsciously modeled her after his ideal woman to be. You can see it most pronouncedly in the mouth which is the mirror of the soul. Most definite mischievous so alive, so much better than V4. Then I make up a bit of course, we are having fun or are we not? But the wickedness is Chris Creek's original invention. He was a real artist before the 3D period in his life..

Yes, you can mix bricks (nodes) in DS. However it might be easier to simply use the Layered Image Editor in DS to add the eyebrow texture (as long as it has transparency included). That way one can also adjust the fit/positioning on the fly.

Yes, you can drive the alpha channel via a texture map. It is easiest if you use an image format with embedded alpha information, like .png or .tif

AFAIK, Poser won't read those (at least not taking their transparency into consideration), so I'd go for the non-easiest but with smaller final file size ;)

Poser (at least P10/2014 and as far as I remember P9/2012 too) can read .png files and interpret the transparency. It might be necessary to invert, but it works. I am using the same .png files in both Poser and DS all the time. No problem.

Above is a quick example with one of my .png on a simple Poser Primitive.

I rather suspect they are enjoying the holiday with their families.  This is the holiday where people spend their day outdoors ... far away from computers ... eating hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, etc., and watching patriotic parades before ending the day with massive fireworks displays.

I get to see about three different displays from my apartment.  Not quite as good as being there in person ... but then, I don't have to deal with the crowds, heat and humidity, and then the traffic trying to get home.

The best displays I ever saw was the year we watched the riverfront displays from my sister-in-law's downtown law offices in Portland, Oregon ... and we were at eye level for many of the explosions.  Now, that was awesome.

I'll quietly chime in that I'm fond of transmapped brows also. :) It's nice to have the option available.

It may be possible (for someone who can model, that person is not me) to make a conformer for the brow region. I haven't read through the entirety of the thread to see if some of the auto-follow or morph-helping features are in play to know how potentially easy or hard this would be to fit to any included morphs, but brows are in an area where you'd really want to hope that's the case, since most head morphs (shapes and expressions) would be in play there.

Without a conformer or brow geometry, Poser can handle this with masks and blender nodes, but depending on how wild any potential makeup on the face is, you may end up with a bit of a blend line if the differences are fairly stark. Likely not something you'd notice at a distance, but may be visible in some close up renders. DS has the shader bricks  -- which sadly I know less than nothing about -- and the Layered Image Editor (L.I.E.) that could probably manage it quite well. The way L.I.E. works has changed a bit in recent versions from its 'original' form; I used to be able to offer some advice on 'the old version' but will admit to being somewhat at a loss with its more recent incarnation.

(I'm working blearily through the holiday. Somebody grill a hot dog in my honor, maybe? :) )

It's all fun and games until someone loses an eye texture.

Scroll quickly through looking for orange text. Paganeagle has been organizing lists of whatever info we get on Dawn, and he puts the new info in orange. :)

Quote - Oh, good point re eyebrows - something that a CA or two might consider...

A good skin texture with no eyebrow option, and ideally if a fibermesh eyebrow prop also made by one of the ZBrush wizards out there

thanks

I can definitely contribute fibermesh eyebrows, no worries! if someone makes eyebrow-less textures, I will make several eyebrows to go with them! :)

Hair grown on the brows is always the way I prefer to go for close up renders of the face.  Don't need them painted on, don't need a separate mesh, and you can change them on the fly from mussed to groomed.

and you can get creative and make them all fantasy fun like with long tails at the peaks.

This is a DS render of Dawn.  This is an out of the box render in DS using just her basic stuff, the stuff that will be free when she is launched.

Now, back to work texturing flowers, which have nothing to do with Dawn.  >_>

....cept maybe Dawn can enjoy the flowers in a scene some time.

Happy 4th of July to those celebrating and I hope everyone has a good day.
