I'm not quite as enthusiastic as the others here mainly because these things are done in realtime nowadays, and one of those animations took 45 minutes even on a 32-Core machine, so I only have to do the math to work out how long it would take on a quad-core. So for me personally, that's still unacceptable as a productive animation tool because realtime simulation is expected nowadays.
That said, I hope I don't come across as a complainer, cause nothing could be further from the truth. I like how well it works, the cloth and hair seem to behave very well indeed, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the bit you haven't showed us yet, that being the interface and controls we get to play with so we can achieve those results. What's really good about it is that it could mean I never have to see Poser's default Hair or Cloth room again, both of which should have been ditched at concept stage, as should that idiotic Walk Designer.
So yup, seeing this announcement feels like a breath of fresh air - looks very cool!

The only drawback is probably gonna be computing time with mutiple figures with cloth and hair in a full scene.

The name of my channel is definitively "VirtualWorldDynamics". I deleted the channel with my name.
I wanted to post quickly my videos and i used tools and codec I never used before. The result is really with a poor quality.
I sent the same videos generated using my tools and using a XVid codec. The result is really better. The new videos are named "_new". I will delete the old videos. All the new renderings will be send with this method.
Pumeco, you are right, 45 minutes on a 32 threads machine could seem important, but this time is for all the scene which contains 3 simulations. For this kind of scene, the more complex element takes 25 mn and the 2 others take 10mn each with all the interactions between my program and Poser. In reality, the simulations take 70% of the total time. It is important to know that conforming clothes are much more complex than dynamic clothes, their simulations need much more dynamic relations to attach the different parts together. I also want to precise that on the same machine, each rendering made in 640X480 with global illumination took 2 at 3 more time than its entire simulation. I am sure you will enjoy to see fast simulations when you will use the program even on your quad core processor.
The rendering videos are useful to show the final result but i should like to publish presentation videos to show how works the program. I began to create this kind of videos but my English speaking is not good enough. I tried to create demonstrations using my language, (French), but the result is not interesting for everyone. I want to create new videos using subtitles which will be more useful for everyone but this work is very long.
I want to show all the capabilities of the program like animate earrings, simulate wind or catch a part of a cloth with one hand.
I can publish my 2 videos in French showing 2 functionalities of the program if you think this could be useful.
I'm happy the program seem you an interesting extension for Poser.

Thanks for the heads-up, I'm definitely looking forward to seeing it, especially the controls and the way it is set up etc. I must admit I did forget the fact that these are 'conforming' dynamics, so hurry-up with the demo videos of the interface - I want to see it :-P
I've been wanting to put together some nice renders of Roxie for a long time now, I intended to put some effort into it but truth be told it's mainly Poser's pathetic Cloth Room and Hair Room that has stopped me from really getting down to doing it - pile of crap - just puts me right off using it. That and the lack of Anamorphic bokeh pisses me off cause it makes all the difference - when Anamorphic it actually looks like it was shot through a real lens instread of a lifeless gaussian blur. Your plugin offers a breath of fresh air because even if I didn't use it for Animation. the point is we still get a new Cloth and Hair system in Poser, and believe me, I for one am VERY thankful for that (I absolutely despise Poser's built in Cloth and Hair systems).
I've given up hoping Baggins will come up with an Anamorphic system, but I found out recently that Anamorphic bokeh can be had with Lux Render, so I'm hoping that adding the Reality plugin along with your Cloth and Hair plugin will finally give me a nice workable system to play around with. If it works out like that, I hope to produce some nice 'photo-shoot' style images of Roxie.

First off, great work. A few questions.
Clothing and hair are moving at the same level of swish which looks a little weird to me. Can hair swish be dialed down/up?
These demos look like the motion is chiefly keyed to the hip translation/rotation (i.e. translation/rotation along scene's Z axis). If the characters bend forward, backwards, or side to side does it account for gravity?

I publish 2 new rendering videos on my channel.
I decide also to publish my 2 presentation videos. They show 2 capabilities of the program.
I have made these videos in French, I will create subtitles in some days.
If you are interested, i can create this kind of videos to show all the capabilities of the program.
Currently, i work on the demo program. This version will permit to test all the functions but will not permit to export the results into Poser.
This limited version will be sent to the Renderosity Free Stuff the next week.
The reason is that I want to protect my program to reverse engineering. The final version will be ready in the summer.
I will not be able to finalize it before. Sorry.
@Duanemoody : The movement of the clothes and hair follows the movement of the character and depends of the gravity, I would be happy
to find better animations to create new animations. The reason of your disappointment is perhaps some defaults of these animations.

Very nice! I'm impressed that you've managed to greatly improve upon Poser's native dynamics! Basically, it appears that you're calculating all the dynamics outside of Poser, then importing the animations back in, bypassing Poser's somewhat slow dynamics engine.
I didn't have time to view all the videos. I have a question: Does your dynamics engine accept Poser's wind generators and work with them well?

I noticed in the video the seat deformed when the figure sat on it. Special mesh? Also, are different cloth types supported in your logiciel?
This is a total game-changer: Poser suddenly has a fantastic tool that beats conforming cloth all to bits in terms of realism.

Very impressive indeed. Your plugin handled several collision scenarios that I know would have brought Poser's cloth room to a crashing halt. The only caution I would give is to be sure your documentation is solid on the controls, and what each one does. I wouldn't be overly concerned about time required. Nearly all the realtime dynamics setups I've seen are based on game engines use low polycount meshes...not the dense mesh Poser tends to use. I agree with the others, this could be a serious game changer in Poserdom. Protect your IP, then let us play with the fruits of your labor!

I watched it and thought, I hope Nerd is watching this thread. THIS is a feature folks have been begging for and I hope they are already speaking to the author about making it a permanent part of Poser and giving him all the help he might need.
We've been chatting up a storm about this in the chat room. What I'm wondering is will this also work on the dynamic clothes that are already in the marketplace here? I think it would do a lot for vendors who enjoy creating dynamic clothing. Lots of folks seem to be afraid of dynamics or don't want to wait for the calculations and this would really help in that area if it can handle dynamic clothing props as well.

A few questions may I assume this external app will be for the latest version of poser (pro??)
Many users are not using the latest version for various reasons.
Are you in contact with SMith Micro regarding this,or are you doing this independently?
I ask this because third party plugin developers for poser , or any Cg app, who do NOT have any Official support from the programs Maker are often blind sided by official"updates" that break the functionality of the third party plugins.
This leaves buyers stuck with a plugin that no longer works until the Vendor gets around to updating it..and some never do so.

I will try to answer to all the questions:
For me VWDCloth&Hair is not a plugin but a program because the relation with poser is historical but not necessary, I like Poser and it was easy to program interface relation with Poser in Python and easy to import animation in .DYN format to use them in the cloth room.(it's my only relation with the Cloth room). I will make a video which shows that the Cloth room generates some problems who are easy to correct.
I regularly write scripts for 3D Studio Max and could export the animations in PC2 format if necessary .... or others.
The program works with all versions of Poser. Personally, I use Poser9 and I think VWD can work in Poser6 and up. (Without Magic number problem!!). It works with Poser Pro. The program installation can be made everywhere. Personally, I install the files in a "C:VWD" directory.
@wolf359 : Currently, I don't have relation with Smith Micro. The program development has been made using a Poser7 Python scripting Manuel. The functions I use in Poser was present at the beginning of the Python implementation. There is no reason for my program to stop its updates.
The program can work with dynamic Clothes. I will make a video that shows the calculation speed using this kind of clothes.
Nevertheless, the program don't work with strandbased hair but if these hair can be imported as mesh, there is no problem. I will make a video showing 2 methods to animate the same hair.
@Biscuits : you can send me some of your works if you want but i hope you will be able to test your clothes yourself the next week. The demo program will not allow to save the results of your simulations, but you will be able to see the result in a video generated during the simulation. This video could be played at realtime to see the quality of the simulation.

@RobynsVeil : You are right, my date was not precise enough, I hope to finalize the program before September. The program accepts all meshes using the .OBJ format. By experience, it is difficult to simulate clothes and hair which exceed 100.000 vertices. When I say I want to protect the program against reverse engineering, I want to say I want to avoid the copy of my new simulation methods.

So it imports object files and then uses Python to bring the .dyn files into Poser.
I' not so sure that this program can work directly with Carrara or DS. By directly I mean pass an animation and object files to the program and have it passed back after applying the dynamics. As far as I know Carrara and DS do not use python as their scripting language, so I don;t believe the scripting will work. Another version using the Carrara and/or DS would have to operate with their scripting language.
Again this is just my opinion based on what I vaguely remember of Carrara and DS so it's very possible I am wrong, so you should what for an official answer before judgement
@Morkonan : Excuse me, i didn't answer to your question, No I don't use the wind generator in Poser: I never use it and I don' know what are its capabilities. By against, I have my own wind generator, It can be use or modify during the simulation. For now, I only has a strength, a random strength based on vertices and 3 directions values. I want to include a squall system based on the time.
For now, the program only works with Poser. The first reason is that Poser was created to manage Characters, clothes and hair. I could write an import of .OBJ files for many software, I regularly works with 3D Studio Max, its scripting methods (MaxScript) are very different to Python. I often import .OBJ files in Max but it has not been created to manage characters libraries. I don't know Carrara, by against, I know it is a very good software. In my mind, the program(VWD) works with Poser but it could generate animations for all the software than you could need.
I hope this answers to your questions. It is important to understand that an .OBJ file don't need to be included in a Poser library, you can import every .Obj file you want using all the methods you want and make a simulation with it (them). The only necessary thing is to have a basic license of Poser who is not expensive. I don't receive money for this. ;-)

I published 2 new animations made with Floriza dress by Biscuits.
The first is the same as the previous but using the correct value of transparency (Sorry Biscuits for this small error).
The second simulation is relatively complex to realize. This animation requires to keep a good flow but also requires a certain rigidity that will help the self-collision system.
I would like your opinion on this simulation. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
I'm a Poser's user from many years.
I bought a large number of products throughout this period without being totally satisfied with their positionnings.
Then, I'm a developper of applications in the field of numerical simulations also since many years.
Three good reasons to start developping a tool that could animate conforming clothes and hair.
The result is up to my expectations and the tool should be released in its final version in the summer.
A demonstration without recordings tool should be available on Renderosity in about 15 days.
