Subject: DAZ STUDIO 4.7 un-install

Philywebrider ( ) posted Sun, 26 July 2015 at 8:50 AM ยท edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 8:35 AM

I have DAZ STUDIO 4.7.

DS 4.7 has been corrupted

I want to un-install DS.4.7 and re-install the latest DS version

Can any one please help me?

Medzinatar ( ) posted Sun, 26 July 2015 at 9:23 AM

In most cases, when you install any version of DS, it will see a previous version and ask if you want to uninstall.

Otherwise, just execute /Uninstallers/Remove-DAZStudio4_Win64.exe

bhoins ( ) posted Mon, 27 July 2015 at 9:08 AM

If you used Install manager to install it, then Install Manager will uninstall it for you.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Sat, 15 August 2015 at 10:08 PM

I had used used the DAZ install manger to install DAZStudio, But when I called DAZ the phone guy that DS was corrupted and I wanted to remove it, the phone guy told me to remove it with the Windows uninstaller.I unistalled the DS Manager. I tried to re-downloaded the DS manager, and tried to download and install DS4.8, but it doesn't work.

I'm not sure what the issue is with Install Manager, as I only use it to install content.

If you are logged into the DAZ store, you can download the latest version of Studio from your Product Library...

So after you took off Daz 4.7 and the DIM were you prompted to restart computer to complete removal? Some programs ask others might not. Always wise to do so anyway as removes trace elements

I tried to re-downloaded the DS manager, and tried to download and install DS4.8, but it doesn't work.

Since you mentioned two steps of the procedure I can assume the DIM is up and running and its the software part of the install that headed south -ย

You would need to clarify whether you managed to actually download the full program and the installer made an attempt to install it and failed in the "Ready to Install" tab of the DIM or did you just get download failed in the download bar on the right in the DIM " Ready to Download" tab as there is a big difference.

The first one listed here is a - Houston we got a problem. ย The second is a more likely a minor glitch

I have a PC with windows 7
I'm ready to install Daz Studio 4.8. DS4.8 is now on my product list. I can select it and the download/install options appear.
I want to install DS 4.8 on my PC
I'm doing something wrong, (I guess?), because it doesn't install.
Can someone help me, please?

LPR001 ( ) posted Mon, 24 August 2015 at 9:32 PM

Download is one tab - Install is another tab they are not together so what I was asking is at what point are you getting to and when does it fail
Download tab it does not download at all or only part of it and you get message on that right progress bar "Download failed"
it downloads fine but
Install tab You click to install and it does nothing or you accept the pop up for access for Daz to alter hard drive and it fails which you get message "Install Failed"
as stated above there is big difference and can't give you the possible answer you seek without this info

Just to speed things up for you and save delayed response. If you have opened the DIM and checked the box with the tick on Daz 4.8 and clicked on the Start Queue on bottom left and it does absolutely nothing. then try to reset the DIM by leaving it open Then in your Start panel on Windows 7 in search box type in Task Manager and select, when it opens choose Daz Install Manager should be on top- just click on the name it will highlight blue. Down bottom right click END TASK that way Windows is knocking the DIM of its perch you are not just closing the DIM via DAZ . Start the DIM again and give it a try. If this is still the same then the installer itself is faulty is either a logging issue or it will need to be removed and a fresh new install

Okay my friend this is the My Product advice page from the Daz website and while you could download and install from there I was wondering if you had clicked on the White Tab "Get Install Manager" If since you ordered Daz 4.8 this is as far as you got then. Make sure you are logged into your account and click on the get Install manager then go through the regular process you would installing any other program Run accept and install. Once that is done then log into Install Manager and give a minute or two and your products will show up. In your case once DIM is up and running you could select all in the download tab (Except the Mac software as u are Windows and choose if you are on a 32 bit or 64 machine) This would set everything up correct and install proper We are looking for this as in pic.

If you have tried to download the "Install manager" already and it has failed then you would need to contact Daz so they can check their end you are showing up on their system and it is not blocking your download. Hover over the Get Install Manager if it turns black with yellow text it is a live link if it does nothing it's a dead link

I've been working with DAZ since July 10, 2015, with gaps from waiting. I was told by the DAZ tech problem report agent.that she only had 8 hours in a day any she had a lot to do. I asked if I could be transfered to another tech or a supervisior, or maybe talk to some Tech, are under the on the phone...no reply. BTW, the people I spoke to at the DAZ 'OVERFLOW' Dept, who believe they are taking 'OVERFLOW' calls. They simply fill out a problem report and pass it on. To the best I can determine there is no 'OVERFLOW', ALL calls go to them. In the past a 'TECH' cal went directly to a TECH, and the problem was solved in minutes rather than 8+ weeks. I tried re-submiting the problem and and I was refered back to the original Tech. Both DAZStudio 4.8 64 bit and The Install Manager are installed. I can't access the install Manager from the Library Product Lisy if I click on the green Download/install botton, the window goes white. If I go to the Install Manager directly, I'm missing items from my Library Product List. I like DAZ Studio, and DAZ oroducts. I've spent $1ooo's of dollar on DAZ products, ( they are quailty products ) but their revised customer service does not work for me. Maybe for simple problem it would be OK? Right now I'm waiting to here from DAZ.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Tue, 08 September 2015 at 4:28 AM

I do want to make it clear, I'm NOT into the tech stuff, and part of the problem me be me.but 8+ weeks is a lonnnnggg time.

I am still yet to work out if the green button is just decoration to make you feel better or it does actually do something so don't go losing any sleep over that.Maybe it just triggers a quicker response from your DIM to get things ticking along as I have at times never gone near it and my downloads are waiting for me. Best do a little test and get you back on track. I will send you a sitemail with some instructions. You wont need to be rocket scientist but you will have to be 100% accurate with the input or it will do nothing. Regards Johnny G

There are a few items that are not compatible with DIM - type dim::false into the Filter box in the product Library to see a list (though it will list some things, like bundles, that are largely DIM-able). If that doesn't account for the differences you see check that you are logged in to the right account on both DIM and the site (given the list you show I would think so, but it's worth double-checking).

LPR001 ( ) posted Tue, 08 September 2015 at 6:12 PM

@RHaseltine I sent him the sku check along similar lines to try too. The content he has missing should show up. I think the DIM is considering the products are already on his system so not showing up in the download available pane. Had similar issues in past wasn't showing up in the installed either it took Daz to disconnect and reset at their end give it a jolt to solve it. Sometimes the bundle purchase can cause the issue a product in a bundle may have a different sku so you can actually buy it twice it won't show as available in DIM with the newer purchase but will go in your product library as update.

HI LPR001 To the best of my knowledge this is where I'm at.

I did an un-install and re-install of DAZ Studio PRO 4.8 and The Install Manager. Both programs seem function by themselves, but not together,

Once the item is selected from the Product, the promo image and the Green Buttons.appears

If the product requires it;s own 'install' I hit the large green button

otherwise I hit the small green Download/install button

In both cases when I hit the large OR small green button, a WHITE screen appears...its tab says daz3dim:://download/2...., but doesn't do anything more.

I may have done something wrong, but I don't know what.

LPR001 ( ) posted Sun, 13 September 2015 at 12:10 PM

A few posts up you put a pic of the page for your content. If this is the green and white button you are refering to then don't expect it to open up to offer you a file or install from there. It indicates to your DIM and you can install it from the DIM itself when you are ready. The blue button to left of the download & install will give your the files but you would need to unzip and manual install (Not recommended unless no choice.) If you did a full install of both then you only will need to open the Install manager and Click on the "ready to download" tab. If there are products there then just check the one box in the blue bar it will select everything available to download. At bottom left check the "Install after download" box the click Start Queue. It should start to download and install your products

The Install Manager button does turn black with orange text!

jestmart ( ) posted Sun, 13 September 2015 at 12:22 PM

The blue button is to download manually the green button attempt to launch DIM so you can download and install from it. Depending on security setting for your browser, anti-virus, and/or firewall and OS that attempt may fail.

If the link is active, how can I connect with the download Manager?

Is there some thing on The Install Manager that I can click on or Reset?

LPR001 ( ) posted Sun, 13 September 2015 at 12:35 PM

If you are signed in it will do it auto. just double click on the Install manager icon on your desktop. then you should be signed in. If not put your email and Daz password on the DIM splash screen. Clicking the green button on the website does not start your installer :-)

@jestmart It is getting rarer for the install manager to open from the site even the Windows basic security knocks it out. I even went in and added it as exception got turn off again I run Malwarebytes too and that even blocks Skype calls LOL. I just open it from the icon on the DT.

now I am confused...I thought that once you selected an Item from the Product Library the promo Image, and the green buttons appeared.

You then pushed the Green Download/Install button and the Install Manager appeared?

Can you give me an I.P., (Idiot Proof) sequence?.

LPR001 ( ) posted Sun, 13 September 2015 at 4:12 PM

I don't get it either with me it started at Win 7 running Spyhunter and ends with Win 10 I can press the button all I like on the site my installer will not open in fact most of the time I don't click any button they will show up as available. Double click this as in pic on your desktop or program list (Win7). At most you will have to sign in. Tell it to remember you. Then you cant miss what to do it is very straight forward
