"What 3D Program Should I buy?" Not one person here can really tell you what's best for you, as everyone has their own taste in workflow. Try the demo or learning edition of the program you're interested in, this is the only way to find out which programs you like.
Looking good Lobo. I, and a lot more folks doing modeling, started with Hard Surface projects.
Can you possibly post the link to the the tutorial you're following? A lot of folks have done these types of tutorials on YouTube, but they're not all the same, so the tutorial you're following might have just the thing I'd need to make my workflow that much easier.

This particular tutorial is one of the free ones offered by BlenderBros and you have to sign up and create an account on their website for this particular tutorial it is free but does require and account https://www.blenderbros.com/ They have main free ones on Youtube as well but under their individual names Josh Gambrell and Ponte Ryuurui they also mainly use the Hardops and Machin3tools Blender add-ons

Ahhh, their names sound familiar, so I think I've probably looked at some of their YouTube videos. Thanks for the link to their site. I'll go take a look later.

Yes another tool that I found a little bit easier to learn is Fluent for hard surface modeling

The creator of Fluent also create a decent PBR material add-on that gives decent texturing like Substance Painter

I am currently working on becoming more familiar with Hard Surface modeling and Boolean workflow so I am currently flowing a tutorial on using several different add-ons in Blender geared towards Hard Surface modeling one of the things I have to relearn from just basic polygonal modeling is having to deal with topology later in the modeling process than as I go along.
Looks good so far, only critique I'd have is if those are wheels/casters on the bottom, they look a little "light weight" for what they're supporting [visually].

Lobo3433 posted at 9:33 AM Thu, 12 January 2023 - #2976596Thank you for the info and critique I appreciate it yes I agree worrying about topolgy as I go long is very frustrating and having to wait till the end to do it hasn't sunken in my thick skull from having always done my modeling with topology as you versus at the end. And yes I think the wheels can be a bit bigger and bulkier for the weight they would be carryingI am currently working on becoming more familiar with Hard Surface modeling and Boolean workflow so I am currently flowing a tutorial on using several different add-ons in Blender geared towards Hard Surface modeling one of the things I have to relearn from just basic polygonal modeling is having to deal with topology later in the modeling process than as I go along.

Warlock suggested a great Idea since this thread is What are You Working on I should have posted a wire frame render besides the matcap to show the current topology which I know I will have to do some major clean up once the booleans are apply currently I am still working non-destructively

It is based on a tutorial I am following which is learning the basic of hard surface modeling and boolean work flow with out add-ons just Blenders native tools some of the more sophisticated hard surface add-on do allot like making sure your modifiers are stacked right so I am learning the fundmentals and it will be once it is done like a mechanical claw on mobile base. Eventually I want to make props for Poser or for kitbashing kitsWow, great minds think alike. I just came over here to start a "What are you working on" thread, and I can see you beat me to it. You've put a smile on my face Lobo.
What is your end product going to be? And, are you creating a prop to sell, or is this strictly a personal project.
