Okay, gulps down first coffee of the morning.
I'm running an Athlon 1.33ghz with 1G ram but on windows ME. 16M Voodoo3 graphics card. I've had problems before with rendering mulitiple figures causing the programme to crash but rebooting has always sorted it out. Not with Michael though.
Poser will render fine with Michael plus props and other figures, it's only when I put another Daz figure in the scene that I get the problem.
By the way, it's Michael 2 with Hi-res texture.

Yeah I know ME is a hunk of junk, but Hi res Victoria 2 (even with a couple of Milenium kids in tow) will still render okay. I'll be ditching ME for XP as soon as I have enough coin of the realm, but I'm doubtfull about this being purely a RAM problem.

Things is working again now, downloads have appeared and I've downed the first one. Cheers Jack

Me? Fantasy, Humour (I love Terry Pratchet), Ghost stories and anything else that grabs the imagination. The problem is getting in the right mood to write, the inspiration comes in splurges so to speak. Although I have this novel on the go (doesn't everybody?) I prefer to write short humourous pieces that tickle my fancy at the time. Intended audience? Usually just me and the missus. lol.
Thread: If pigs could fly ... WIP | Forum: Writers
Absorbing stuff. Well, it passed the first test - it makes you want to read on and see where the story is going. My first thought was the pig was high on wacky backy (giggle). I sort of lost it a bit around the time Amy Sue started growing horns. I wasn't sure what was going on there for a bit and had to re-read a couple of paras. Maybe a slower transition from 'pig' to 'pig with horns' could work better. But that was my only niggle with this story. Nice stuff and just about the right length. Jack

"Granny Weatherwax had similar problems. Perhaps they should form a support group."
Ah, you detect the heavy influence of 'uncle' Terry. Granny Weatherwax has got to be one of my all time favorite characters. I've toyed with the idea of doing a Granny short - but I don't think I could do the character justice.

Thanks guys. I've up-dated to XP and that seems to have sorted it. I'll have a go at the RSR files too... just to be on the safe side. Thanks again for your help. Jack

Thanks for that. It's a good tutorial. I've tweaked the drop shadow and inner shadow a bit and the results look promising. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it yet today but I'll let you know if I produce anything viewable in the next few days. Jack
Thread: Rendering Problems wtih Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Don't know if this helps or not, but I had a similar rendering problem with the hi-res Mike figure. The problem turned out to be Windows ME. Basicly, it's a hunk of junk. I upped to XP and everything has been fine, I've been able to render multiple high res figures in the same scene. So, if you're running ME... ditch it for Win 2000 or XP. Jack

Do you have a wife? A family? Anyone you care about? If so you must delete the poser prgramme from your hard drive, burn the book and the Cds and get your life back. It's too late for me - I've had Poser for a couple of months now. The wife has turned to drink, the children are asking "who is that stranger living upstairs?" Yesterday, the dog bit me. But I no longer care - once I hit the 'render' button, the rush comes over me and all else is forgotten. Don't listen to these pushers - they are only trying to hook you in. RUN... RUN NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. (This message has been brought to you curtesy of the hangover from half a bottle of brandy drunk while trying to get 'just the right lighting effect')
Thread: Tablet problem | Forum: Photoshop
Not sure what you mean but there is nothing in either the programme folder or the literature to suggest that you can. Oh, something I forgot. The tablet WAS working properly in Photoshop after upgrading the driver for the first time. But since that first time... zip. This is what makes me think the must be some kind of conflict. But i've added no other software or hardware in the meantime or upgraded anything else.

I've belonged to a very friendly group called 'WriteThing'. For writers of all experiences. They do lots of exercises, have publishing tips and a good crit system amongst other things. Sadly, I haven't been active in the group for many months. Jack
