Thread: V5I vs Carrara 5 Pro | Forum: Vue
Itย is not a vital thing for a landscape generator to have a non photorealistic render.ย I don't expect them to do that, I prefer they concentrate on doing better landscape features rather than gadget like this.
I agree that the piranesi support would be a great plus, Vue would be a good thing for architect, however it is not a feature for low and mid range market, as piranesi is quite expensive ;)
It is funny to see that asย eon don't do what you ask they are bad and abandoning the low market...
You have good ideas generally, but please stopย the "GIMME, GIMME, GIMME NOW!!!!!" attitude, your parents haven't told you that you can't have everythingย just when you want it?
As far as I knowย eon hasย always been secret on what they are developing, don't it? Wasn't the ecosystem a big surprise? I'm sure they will surprised us once again with the 6! (if you listen to veritas, the surprise will be the end of the Easel and esprit to concentrate on infinite ;) who bet on that?ย )
Just myย 2 cents...
Thread: Walking in Sand | Forum: Vue
Hi,
this is a try to upload the file...doesn't work... I'll try something else!
here is a link, i hope it will works :
http://www.badongo.com/file/696437
it is a little scene file i made when I first saw your message to see how to do that. Hope it helps!
As silverblade said, use an invisible texture for the footprint, or the same texture as the ground.
Regards,
Anty
Thread: Walking in Sand | Forum: Vue
Hi,
to animate footprint in the sand, I would do boolean difference between the ground (a terrain maybe) and a model ofย foot print.
I don't know if it is possible in poser to export just the feet in order to use them for the boolean operation. Maybe it would be better to use something else than exactely the foot because it have to be irregular a little. Like a terrain. Hope it helps.
Anty
PS : I've done a little scene to see if it works, but I can't upload it on this forum :-( ask me if you want it: :-)

Thread: Is Vue able to render large pictures? | Forum: Vue
Do you render to screen or to disk? I think Vue can render larger picture when rendering to disk. It is possible to render large picture, giacomo costa (as an instance)render picture to print on plate of more than 5 meters long, so I think he renders in more than 800x600 :-)
Thread: Industrial Light and Magic To Use Vue 5 Infinite!!! | Forum: Vue
Cool! Congrat's to e-on! For me it mean that e-on will continue to provide high end features to the masses! It is now a good point to write you know Vue on your resume;-)

Maybe the antenna is to thin, you can try to make it a little bit larger, it can help I think. How is it modelled? (is it just a polygon, or an extrusion of a triangle or a circle) You can try to do some try on higher resolution picture to see if the problem appears too.
Thread: Do I like Bryce 5.5? | Forum: Bryce
It is really sad for the poor Bryce, it was a so promising soft and now it will be hard to get it as it must be! I switched to Vue before Bryce switch to Daz, but I continue to follow its "evolution". I'm happy with Vue (I have 5 Pro studio now), and I'm not that happy of the Bryce's evolution, it is quite the same as when I left it so long time ago... Vue 4 is more or less equivalent to Bryce 5.5, and I saw it is $49 when you have Bryce, without being platinum member ;-) Of course you can again wait and see, as we said before 5.5! I'll maybe get Bryce 6 (there will be a price for Bryce 5 user I think), but I prefer to wait for Bryce 6 with Vue rather than with the 5.5 minor update.
Thread: Just got this e-mail...now I'm mad !! | Forum: Vue
Maybe when they say "Vue 4" they mean "Vue 4 product line", which includes Vue d'Esprit 4 and Vue 4 Professional... But they should have used "from" instead of "for", it is really strange... I can't imagine they are doing an upgarde at 199$ from Vue d'Esprit 4, it would be bizarre...
Thread: The box says 512M free RAM.....I don't think so........ | Forum: Vue
Just a note : Phoul : "I start and create next scenes with my "old" PIII 1ghz 512 ram. Hum... about 75% of the scenes were created on that old PC." ;)

Thread: A question about Vue Infinite | Forum: Vue
It read there is a way to place element of an ecosystem where you want, but it seems not trivial, you'll have to use Python :-/ Maybe an Ockham will come...
Thread: It is March 14.....Vive Le Infinite!!! | Forum: Vue
Totally amazing! The Phoul's video is totally crazy, I was unable to move at the end as I was under the shock! And then the picture of Robert with all its details, and this beauty! I'm really impatient to get Infinite! I will watch the video again and again till I receive my product (it is hopefully on its way;) )!
Thread: Claims about Vue 5 Infinite on E-On's website... | Forum: Vue
I agree with Vance (his answer has disappeared), it is really strange thread...
I can't believe someone can be so concerned by the communication of a company! Who care about what a company said? We all know that every company claims to be the best in its category, so what is the matter?
"Comparable" is a vague term...
The only one I trust in is me... but not too often;) Don't trust anybody!
