You are right, Shawn. I did some testing and it seems to have something to do with the preview. I looked in my Vue Options (admittedly only once) but couldn't find anything obvious to change to get a higher priority. Can you steer me in the right direction?

I "kinda" think it has to be something else. I have version 2016 R6 - Build 602470. If that were the case, you'd think eventually the preview would appear. The yellow triangle with the exclamation point appears over the correct preview image. Anyone have a different guess?

Thanks, I really appreciate your help.My computer is about 1 year old so I am assuming it is capable of supporting the AVX commands. I'll probably never notice the difference, but I have always wondered about it.

Thanks for your additional comments, TD! I think it's worth it for me - the price is not bad at all. I appreciate your extra input!!

Thank you both for taking the time to answer. Oh boy, thd777! I did indeed misunderstand. I thought it was a Metanode creating program and thus pretty nicely priced at $24.99. But your comment "It makes terrain generation faster and easier in Vue because it allows you to just play with a few parameters to produce a variety of terrain forms" still sounds pretty neat. I'll think on it.

Have you checked geekatplay.com? If I remember correctly, there are some among the tutorials for the earlier versions of Vue, but they should still be OK for the newer versions as well.

I was able to download the Extras file, but then when I go to unzip it, I get an error message that "this is not a valid zip file."

Adding to Bruno's excellent advise (there is no better place than Geek at Play for Vue tutorials), I would suggest you go to the Site Map page:
http://www.geekatplay.com/sitemap.php
and from there just start at the beginning. Even though the beginning tutorials are for versions 6 and up, they are still applicable. If you click on Epic Landscapes I, for example, you are taken to the older GaP tutorial pages. From there, click on Tutorials in the menu at the top, go down to Vue and then the Vue Weekly fly-out menu, and on to Tutorials 1-35. That's a great start.
Because they have so many tutorials, I know it can be daunting to figure out where to start.
Thread: OT - Turn off right Charm Bar in Win 8 | Forum: Vue
I've read about Start8 & Classic Shell. I might try them. The script I downloaded didn't totally eliminate the appearance of the Charm Bar.

Quote - Oops, Forbes got a response and no you can't download and use unless you have a CS2 license. I'm now wondering if it is a trap for the pirate crowd.
I am wondering how strict Adobe will adher to the license requirements - as I indicated above, I was specifically given the GoLive CS2 download link by Adobe as a replacement when I wanted to install DreamweaverMX 2004 on my new Windows 8 computer. I only have a license for Photoshop CS2 - not GoLive CS2.

I found a script here:
http://www.askvg.com/how-to-disable-charms-bar-hint-in-windows-8/
But since it involves a registry change, I would strongly recommend anyone using it to first back up the registry.

I'm sitll using Dreamweaver4 I bought in college, no damn way I'll pay thier sick prices for a freakin' app like that :/
Begrudged EVERY damn penny I've paid for Photoshop, grrr. awesome app, but sick sick prices when it's damn near a monopoly/industry standard.
Stuck with PaintShopPro until PS finally got a decent interface and PSP had become total crap thanks to Corel, sighway too much "elitism so keep price up" and greed with these companies (see Autodesk especially)
......
Yes - I agree. The prices are daunting, to say the least.
I ended up reinstalling DreamweaverMX 2004 on a trial basis which supposedly is up after 30 days. I'll just wait and see what happens after the 30 days are up. If the ap just quits working then, I'll be very sad but don't know what else to do.
