There is a ton of V4 and M4 content in the Legacy store at PoserAddicts but no one buys anything there anymore. Poser users complain there is nothing for V4 and M4, yet there are thousands of products which rolled off of Renderosity which we took up and continue to offer long after they were removed from the store here. To allow those amazing products to continue to be legally available to those who supported and used Poser. As Male-M3dia said above - we saw products that were the norm over 10 years ago, continue to be created for, but even Smith-Micro and Content Paradise don't actively make anything for their own figures which compete with anything being made for Daz Studio and its Genesis line of figures. The money is there in that market, which is technologically growing and moving forward. If Poser was so the product of choice then Poser exclusive stores like PoserAddicts would have tons of sales rather than maybe clearing around $20.00 USD a month in profits. I just left it there in case anyone wanted the amazing products which are in that store, and that makes over 5000+ Poser related products, which no one seems to want.

I'm going to work only with Daz Studio going forward in my new online shop and won't waste my time with "requests" for Poser Only products as the number of sales for those is so minimal, it's not worth making unless its a fully paid commission. Sorry but supporting Poser alone has become bad business. And I started with Poser in the days of Curious Labs and Metacreations. I go back to 1995, and was the largest supporter of Poser, begging for tech updates and better figures etc, and no one listened. And eventually the ancient interface was locked into everyone's minds as the only way, and Poser vs Daz Studio splits happened. It was nasty and caused companies to go bankrupt and close their doors - the ones who closed, lost money due to Poser and defected over to Daz Studio. And you all saw that the last bastion of Poserdom (RDNA) sold itself to Daz3D, and then Smith-Micro got rid of every single person who ever had anything to do with Poser's creation... That could be a good thing, but I think after so long of ignoring reason, they have one hell of a mountain to climb to out do the success which advancement has brought to Daz Studio.

Even Renderosity has moved to get more Daz Studio content into the store. And I believe they will see that the benefits of DS products vs old supporting products of Poser (V4 and M4) aren't really bringing in very large sums of profit. Sadly its a reality. My beloved PoserAddicts store is like a star that is about to go out, because no one cares to support it anymore, and it's almost exclusively Poser content. That proves to me that no one cares, and only a few people are loud about it, and wouldn't actually care if that star burned out and disappeared, like RNDA and YURDigital and so many other Poser product stores.

I've had serious problems with them in the past, not going to delve into what, but let's just say I won't deal with them again. They were also very eager to blame everything on my email provider, but I am pretty sure they have a leak on their end.

You do realize that with the number of hackers out there using bogus emails and the number of SpamAssassin entries being used by mail programs to filter out spam, that the words "poser" and "addicts" are both on the "naughty" list and are blacklisted to go into spam-mailboxes by most spam checking programs. We are not blaming anyone's mail providers - it is a real life problem of today. And PayPal does act carefully when activating sales on websites where the payment email does not match the email of the user in the store purchasing something or the email is of a new or dubious type of email address. This is where the internet has gone while checking for spam and hackers and thieves. Innocents get hurt more often than not. And more work is made for those running stores, as we need to manually process orders PayPal will not activate for our own protection. It is one of the reasons the old management decided to give up and quit. Over a period of time PoserAddicts had literally thousands of products stolen via fake email and stolen PayPal accounts, used with fake emails. So this method of protection was adopted after we worked with PayPal Europe to stop theft. Imagine someone stealing your PayPal account info, using a fake email address and buying thousand dollar gift certificates and downloading all those products, and being caught when PayPal tells you they only paid $0.10 for $1000.00 worth of goods. They have since fixed that hack in the PayPal interface but not after major damages were done. But that problem was real for us back in around 2010-2014. Since then I have handled the sales personally and individually from 2015 on.

I'm not sure when you had serious problems with PoserAddicts in the past, but the management has changed and I am the only person running it from Europe since 2015. I make sure everyone gets their download links the moment the PayPal payment and verification hits my smart phone email and PayPal app. The store is only running on fumes anymore with legacy products for Poser not being so much in demand anymore. Although an inventory of over 5000 products for Poser exists, only a few things still are exclusive and sell only at PoserAddicts. I don't want to close down the store, killing availabilty of legacy products which are no longer available elsewhere to go away. This thread today shocked me and made me wonder if I should just shut down the store forever.

FOLLOW UP 2:

I have run this through your PayPal complaint and explained to PayPal that you didn't receive the order verification mail from us, and didn't look in your orders area for the download keys. I have written you two messages in the PayPal Resolution Center to handle this. I would appreciate it if you would have this thread deleted once you have received your products to avoid more people from thinking we are ripping people off. One bad word of mouth statement creates hundreds.

FOLLOW UP TO THIS:

I just was alerted by PayPal that you blocked the payment for the order, At the store, however, you only needed to go to My Orders, that order number and would have seen that the downloads were already active from the moment you had paid. Then you blocked the payments, and still could have downloaded the items without paying. Also you have posted this publicly at a competing store's forums which has bad-mouthed the store and this thread at this point now has over 78 public views which is very bad publicity for a small store trying to survive. Touche.

Facit of our investigation of this issue: our verifiication emailer seemed to be not sending you a verification mail stating the product was activated for download. So I have changed the email outgoing address in the store and have attempted to send you verifications with the new outgoing mail server. Hopefully you received one of them to alert you to your downloads. Additionally, I also sent you a personal email from my private email address with a copy of the purchase order and the valid download links. You are in the United States, so it is much earlier there than here. I hope you will get my multiple emails and links that I have sent you.

Navim, have you tried writing someone at Help@PoserAddicts.com to resolve this? If you didn't get an answer immediately then maybe I can help. I will check the orders out for you and see what is happening. If you used another name than Navim, then I will have to know the order number so I can release it for you. If PayPal didn't turn on the order automatically - they do block automatic acceptance on email addresses going thru without manual approval from our side. That is because so many hackers out there use bogus email addresses to hack online stores. This has NOTHING to do with us blaming email providers. The amount of spammage and theft that takes place with bogus emails via PayPal has been stopped by the manual activation process - which is something PayPal implemented. That we are not in the office 24/7 365 days a year to manually oversee everything is normal, I think. Everyone has business hours.

I will do everything I can to get your order taken care of so you get the products you purchased.

My post wasn't rude at all. It is a view of the current stance of things in this market. I've worked with every company that owned Poser since MetaCreations, beta testing the Poser program and creating and selling content for Poser since 1997. I ran PoserAddicts, MalePoserotica and Poserpedia, for more than a decade and a half. The industry has CHANGED. And not recently, over time. Renderosity is a Poser Only store? Since when? I bought Bryce products, 3DS products, Vue Products, Poser Products and many other types of Products here, including standalone software, that had nothing to do with Poser itself here at Renderosity. I don't understand why telling you the facts of what happened to the market for Poser is "rude". Ask anyone who left the Poser marketplace to go to Daz why they did it. You realize that Victoria 4 of Generation 4 was released late 2006 that was 11 years ago. People are only creating Victoria 4 and Michael 4 textures because they work in Poser standalone without the need for importers. Between Genesis 1 and Genesis 3, figured have advanced in leaps and bounds and technology has advanced rapidly.

I'm truly sorry you have been out of the community for several years and came back to something new, but in the software industry things never stand still. My store PoserAddicts is all but dead because no one wanted to create for Poser anymore as the interest in the Poser Community dropped to almost 0, and they were no longer interested in buying products in quantities enough to interest a content provider to make more. The market was Daz Studio, and sales were higher and more lucrative. And hence the Poser marketplace slowed down drastically. Additionally, innovative products were not being produced for Poser anymore as sales were so abysmal.

I only left PoserAddicts open as a Legacy Store - since there are products there for Generation 3 and Generation 4, which still is of interest to Poser users, and now that Daz Studio has Autofits for the clothing for Generation 3 and 4, you can just convert them to Iray and add shaders and some of the clothing looks amazing today even better than back then.

I simply gave you a few examples of how the industry had advanced and did not intend it to be misinterpreted as rude.

So what you're asking is that people continue supporting super outdated tech, that even Smith Micro has turned it's back on (they let the entire developer team of Poser go and closed the Poser division down), and RDNA closed the largest Poser support area to "defect" to Daz... Most of the content creators for Poser-Only products have upped their game and gone to Daz. Renderosity has seen the market and doesn't wish to close it's doors so they are going with the market technical advantages.

What you are telling everyone here is:

"I demand that you keep on buying and using VHS tapes to watch your movies, and I won't touch a Blu-ray player or Netflix!"

Sorry but times change and tech moves forward. You either go with it, or you'll be the only one with your BetaMax and Princess Phone on your kitchen wall, asking people "what do you mean by "social media"?

Lots of people had accounts on there from years ago and we mailed everyone the new password assigned to their accounts. If you hadn't used it long ago and couldn't login chances are you had an account from long ago and we didn't want you to lose your old purchase history if you had one.

Simply do the forgot my password thing and it will email you a new password.

And no, Daz bought Poser Pros a hundred years ago and recently RDNA.

PoserAddicts still exists with legacy V4 and M4 content (also V3 & M3 & D3 & A3 & H3 & F3), and all the stuff that was on much of Poser Pros that didn't go to Daz, and a lot of products now no longer available on Renderosity after clearance. We don't delete non selling items as they are legacy items someone may want one day.

There may be some errors on screen due to updates in PHP versions we cannot eliminate our mods are encrypted and the programmers have since either moved on, or passed away. But everything still works and still sell things mostly to Poser users.

Well, I've been involved in Poser & DazStudio now going on 10 years.  As I am openly gay, and also married to my partner of 16 years, we see the whole 3D thing thru different eyes.  He thinks its an utter waste of time, and I run 3 brokerages, am a Daz Published Artist, sell at Rendo and other places.  I run Poserpedia, PoserAddicts, DigitalMales, Maleposerotica and soon a new female themed store.

Its been a VERY VERY difficult road, especially supporting male figures since Victoria/Aiko/Girl have the main focus in Poser artwork.  But I stuck by it, and I tried MANY times to get my husband interested in it.  But no real luck.  He hates computers, is a master hairstylist with a ton of creativity and NO hobbies that I know of.  

What really was odd was, 5 years ago I forced him to get his German Masters in Hairstyling (required to own a salon here & train new stylists), and because I believed in him -- I financed it.  It cost round about 10K (Euros) which I financed via .... poser.

When he got his "Meisterfriseur" certification, he opened his own shop, and told me that his "shop" was a "real job" and what I did was merely "playing".

That somewhat pissed me off,  considering he never thought about where the 10K (Euro) came from.  So I let him continue thinking his physical salon was "real" and my poser stuff was "playing".

3 years later after financially bailing him out of some serious financial issues, I gave up, and told him to close his shop.  Due to the financial economy and his management of it, it was closed shortly before its 3rd anniversary.  Now I am a very "nice" person, and do not throw his "real job" in his face....

Now he is at home, and is not allowed to work due to his filing bankruptcy, and I am still "playing" with poser and my shops.

I recently completely restructured PoserAddicts into a new store, and will integrate DigitalMales into it so I can eliminate one store, to make way for my new Female-Themed one to compete with MPE.  Still he views it all as a "game".

What really annoys me the most is not that I won't see any of the investment in the salon that went belly up, but that he keeps on badgering me to buy a new kitchen... from my "play-money".

And I refuse.... cause as he calls it... "play money" won't buy any real stuff...

Oh, and asking him to look at any of my 3D artwork or projects? I cannot get him to even look at it without a dumb comment, so I gave up long ago.

So I live in my own "play world" paying the electric bills, filling our fridge and freezer, gasoline, auto-insurance, inspections, with my play money.

I rarely post in the Renderosity forums, but this thread sort of demanded my reply.

Maleposerotica (MPE) has every known male genitalia addon (mostly exclusives) and 2 of the most popular freebie male genitals (Adzan & Ulf 2.0) plus expansions for them.  We recently got the Insomniaworks gens which were originally made for M3, and Jepe created a wonderful expansion for them, with fits for M4, H4, F4 as well as textures for them (as they do not use M4's mapping) with possibilities to make them match any existing body texture (human) available. 

Over at MPE we have been working on supporting everything dealing with male figures, and the anatomical correctness of figures for almost 8 years now.

As MPE is an adult 18+ site, you will not be able to see any of this unless you register (free) .

I have pretty much devoted much of my poser-life to the support of male figures.

Well, I have received great interest from many producers of male themed content, and many customers who dislike wading through hundreds of V4, and A3 items before ever finding something male.  So that sounds like a good start.

I guess we shall see how it goes.

The old ps_ac199 Glasses for Michael/vicky (aka M2/v2) still exists on Daz3d.

But nowadays there are many more pairs of glasses available for use with M3, D3, H3 etc.

In most cases you may have to make your own morphs for them.  The ones from Daz have a bunch of cool morphs in them.

Just got to Daz3D and key in ps_ac199 in the search phrase and they should come up.

I keep asking people interested in making stuff to support ApolloMax and selling them or giving them away to make sure they support him at my two websites.

USSLopez has his textures at PoserAddicts as well as here, which covers alot of ApolloMax users, and I just opened a new store at MalePoserotica (MPE II) which has always supported ApolloMax content providers.

It just seems like most ApolloMax fans all have little out of the way sites, which hoard stuff for AM 2007, but no one seems to know where they centrally are.

MPE has over 6000 registered users and has at least a base with alot of well known artists using ApolloMax too.  Maybe if some of the providers/producers/makers of ApolloMax content would also post their stuff over there, it might help the market for him grow.
