If you use 4 screens you probably have stretched the application window to cover the screens.
If so, you can click the border of the Poser application window to get focus to the command bar. Not ideal but a shorter distance as the command bar itself
Thread: Help. P5 FireFly Renderer not rendering shadows. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Occasionally I have the same problem.
I solve it by deleting the offending light and creating a new light with the same settings.
Shadows will now reappear
This has always worked for me
Thread: New emotion tools | Forum: MarketPlace Showcase
I would like them all. They look very good. My personal preference would be the natural emotions first and the catwalk as a very close second.
Thread: Purchase History page enhancements have arrived!! | Forum: Community Center
This is a definitely much better.
There is one small improvement which you could make to do even better.
The search criteria are only matched against the product descriptions. I would also like to match it against the filenames of the products.
In the old purchase history I was able to search for "UD_" to find updates to the products. With the current search you cannot do this.
Even better would be to have a list for all the updated products.
Thanks

This character pack does have a P5 specific path. It uses a P5 subfolder structure: ("Malin for V3&S3 folder in the A-One folder in the Poses section) So a P5 only statement is correct. Although it does not use P5 shaders, it does use transparency (in the eyelashes) - so it is not compatible with P3 in that respect, only with P4 and P5 A-One makes wonderful products and I do appreciate the P5 subfolder structure she uses.

Thread: Enhancements to the MarketPlace Purchase History pages | Forum: Community Center
Without a search or IE-like Find solution, the Purchase History is totally useless for me.
Please think of the fact that your best customers have the most pages to go through and are the ones most in need of a search facility.
Please make it an option - use the new setup as the default, but let the ones who need it use the old way.

A 'search' function would be fine - if it allows for partial searches, such as "bat" for not only items from "batlab", but also for textures for "batlab" clothing from other merchants.
Even better would be, to be able to additionally specify the type of item you are searching for - such as textures, character or clothing items.
As long as Poser - or DAZ Studio for that matter - does not have a searchable repository for objects, there is a real need for something else. The purchase history - for now - is the only way to get this information

With this change you loose the ability to search through your purchases. I do this a lot to find the ReadMe file belonging to a product. Since most of those are called readme.txt and often overwritten or stored at an unknown location this is the only way to easily find it.
Is it possible to have the old 1 page purchase history as an option in you profile?
Thread: Is there a painless way to get rid of SR4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The problem is a little bit more complicated as the install path. The bug occurs when the "current working directory" has a long pathname. The reason not everyone has the problem is that the pathname of the "current working directory" depends on other programs currently running, previous programs started or maybe some other factor. As CL has mentioned before the problem has been identified and corrected and is now being tested to ensure that no other bugs are being introduced. That is what I have understood from what Curious Labs has said in previous messages
Thread: SR4 no shadows..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Unfortunately no help. The problem occurs with Infinite lights, which have no Distance End. Switching renderer and back does sometimes help, but usually not Any others with the same problem? Please let us know what system you are running on (OS, regional settings, language, or any other setting) to get this pinned down.
Thread: SR4 no shadows..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If I delete all the shadow tmp files I do not get any shadows at all in firefly. I use depth map shadows and infinite lights in this example. These are the default lights when you start Poser. Raytraced shadows work fine - I have no problems with those, but I thought these did not use shadow maps. If only a few people have this problem it is likely that it is system dependant - my guess is with the inability to create shadowmaps for whatever reason.
Thread: SR4 no shadows..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have removed all the shadow tmp files (they were some 500 of them all over the place) and now I get different results
Load Poser, load Judy, Turn on ground, turn on shadows, render in firefly - No Shadows at all
Rebooted the system and tried again - no change, no shadows at all in firefly.
Weirdest thing now is that I cannot get any shadows at all in firefly. Raytrace shadows work fine, but no more depth map shadows.
Since deleting the shadow temp files did make a difference, I decided to restore some of the tmp files I deleted. And restoring "LIGHT1_shadow_0001.tmp" and the ones with similar names for lights 2 and 3 did bring back the old situation: Wrong shadows.
The files which I restored had a date of 20/2/2004, so from before installing SR4.
I am doing a very wild guess now - could it be that SR4 has problems creating a shadowmap temp file because of access rights or some other reason? None of the shadow temp files had a date stamp after the date of installing SR4.
For the record - I am using P5 SR4, Windows XP Pro.
I have checked the settings for the lights in the parameter dials (shadows set to 1.0, Cast shadows on), Ground settings (Cast shadows on), figure (Cast Shadows on), Render Settings Cast Shadows on.
I do not recall having these experiences with SR3
Is there anything else to check?
Thread: SR4 no shadows..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I found out that you have to start Poser fresh and repeat the steps to see this behaviour. Sometimes the problem disappears if you change rendering mode, but not always in all scenes. It seems the problems worsens with certain props. In my case with the ground plane in Lore-Naz scene from Daz I cannot get it at all to work. Those shadows remain from a standing figure - even if you load a posed figure which you have saved before. This only happens in firefly
Thread: SR4 no shadows..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Try this experiment:
Load Judy, make Ground plane visible, keep default lights, set shadows on in render options
Render
It will now show Judy in a standing position, shadows are correct.
Now, load one of the Female Lying down poses.
Render
It will have the figure lying down but the shadows will be of the first (standing) pose! See picture
Switch to P4 rendermode and the shadows are correct
It looks like the shadowcams caches are not cleared when a new pose is applied
Anyone another explanation?
