To add, not bad for $95. It does everything I'm trying to do with my C4D plugin and the cliched "MORE!". Very nice looking indeed. Believe me, creating something like this is intensive work and I'm a seasoned programmer (salt, a little pepper). You have to deal not only with the .cr2 file, but its associated .obj files, imbedded .obj files, and the infamous GetStringRes(), among other Poser oddities. And in my case, all alone. :( Thanks for the link, OneShot, BYS

EdW, I'm writing one "as I write"!!! There is a long way to go, but it at least will support bone rigging. Morphs may come later (depending upon how much trouble they are to duplicate within C4D). Oh, and it won't be $95! ;0) It will be reasonably priced. BYS

The C4D Poser plugin loads the textures just fine. The only problem (known) is that it doesn't set the "transparencies" to "alphas" so that they work correctly in C4D. As I don't have Maya, it is of no interest to me whether it works or not. Still, I'm surprise that it doesn't considering how highly regarded Maya's scripting (MEL) is. BYS

It appears to me to be a similar plugin for Maya as those for 3D Studio Max, LightWave, and C4D. Though, those only cost as much as the Pro Pack to acquire and use (all of them). BYS

Yeah, I didn't immediately think of that, queri! In Poser 5, you can change the "Diffuse Color" to add a color "tint". BYS

You could take an existing texture into something like Photoshop and add a reddish transparency layer above it to change the skin color. Merge layers and save as a new texture file. BYS

A|W .obj format is the native Poser format, so you've got the best package. But, remember that Poser only accepts polygonal objects (no splines, NURBS, patches, etc.). Not sure about lack of smoothing as my .obj imports always smooth in Poser. BYS

You can also use the C4D ProPrack plugin in R8. Takes a little more work (just a little) to initially set up, but then you can also load Poser scenes into R8. Keep your eyes open as I'm working on an R8 plugin to load Poser character files (including obj's) and use the information to rig the character in R8. It will be awhile though, so don't wait for this before trying whatever you can! BYS

I considered taking flying lessons some time back, but the expense and lack of expenses at the time curtailed the endeavor. That is definitely an expensive hobby. Can we say "fuel costs"? :) Top Ramen...LOL BYS

Unless you're like Willie Nelson and use one guitar forever, don't take guitar playing up as a hobby! G.A.S. (Guitar Acquisition Syndrome) can lead to thousands, if not tens of thousands, of dollars spent on guitar equipment. I've spent about $20K on guitar stuff over the past four years (after coming back to electric after only playing classical for awhile), alot of it being sold to "upgrade" or just recoup finances. I don't regret it as I love to play and have just the equipment that I need, for now, until I see something better, or the next Musicians"Friend" arrives... Did I see a contract in the back of their catalog requiring signature in blood and exchange of soul. ;0) BYS

If we're going there ;0), I recently built a hi-perf system just for Poser 5 (et al) - P4 2.54GHz cpu 1.0GB PC2100 DDR memory (still trying to get 2GB - must be 2 1GB DIMMS - very expensive). 2 80GB 7200RPM 8MB cache WD drives + 30GB WD drive GeForce4 Ti4600 AGP and GeForce4 MX 420 PCI video cards (for dual monitors or more) Sony G520 21" Flat screen CRT Samsung SM763MB 17" Flat screen CRT Total: $2700+ (not including Sony DRU-500A DVD+/-R/RW) If it weren't for P5, I would have not upgraded. And I know there are those out there who make my system look slow and archaic!! Ummmmm. 40" plasma screen. :) BYS

I should have said that I do consider C4D and LW "collateral" damage on my credit card with respect to Poser. :) As for which I like best, that's difficult to answer. I use C4D most of the time, but you can bet that's only because I received and learned it first. Both have their strong and weak points. LW has fur/hair and HDRI builtin among other things, but is steeper to learn and master. C4D doesn't have these but is easy to learn and master. LW is more industry standard and has a large userbase whereas C4D is not as well known. BYS
