Well for a bit of balance I use Vue Pro and it gives me no problems, I upgraded for the 3D package synchronisation features and they work very well. (After downloading the 'forgotten' plugins - oops :) ) Most people's problems seem to involve Poser and/or graphic card compatability and so as I have no interest in Poser and have a professional graphics card I use Vue Pro as part of a pipeline with no problems at all. Vue Pro is in my opinion a very good product at a very good price. My experiences have been positive.

If you want to do Vue vegetation & scenery I would heartily recommend rendering in Vue followed by compositing. Luckily Vue Pro has good camera/lighting synchronisation. Exported vegetation takes ages to render in LW.
Thread: Alternatives to rendering in VuePro? | Forum: Vue
Good bunfight considering everyone likes Vue and will continue to use it : ) What was the question again?

If you want to know how bad rendering times can get then try exporting some of those trees to Lightwave or some such. Vue is actually much quicker.

I run a Quadro4 980 XGL and it runs any graphic application just fine. Don't know the make of it though. But then again, I used to run Vue on a Radeon and it ran fine on that as well.
Thread: How do I render an animation as a tiff sequence in VuePro? | Forum: Vue
For some reason the way to change the format of the output files comes under 'Browse' in the render animation options. Use the file type drop-down. One of those things that you sort of find out by accident.

Thread: What is VUE Pro - upgrade to VUE4 or a Natural Scenery Studio? | Forum: Vue
The biggie for me was camera synchronisation with Lightwave. Vue will render plants & landscapes about a million times faster than LW but the problem was always one of rubbish camera control in Vue. That feature alone made it worth the upgrade for me. Still, if you don't do animations...
Thread: Radeon 9600 pro not good enough for VUE4pro? + some ranting... ;o) | Forum: Vue
I don't know that E-On have a qualified hardware list, I've never seen one, and to be fair I've never had a problem running Vue off my Radeon. The reason the cards mentioned don't appear on qualified hardware lists is that these cards are consumer level cards not designed for graphics applications. ATI, like NVidia, have a seperate range of cards for professional work and it is these cards that are tested and certified for use. If its any consolation to anybody, my Quadro card is rubbish at games.

Having a 'qualified hardware' list is not unusual for professional graphics applications. Unfortunately most consumer level graphics cards don't make it onto these lists, although with a bit of luck there's usually no problems. I had to ditch my own Radeon in favour of an NVidia Quadro4 980 XGL card, which is an excellent card, lets me run 2 monitors off it, and cured all my graphical application problems. Unfortunately I had to take a game FPS hit but that's not too worrying for me.
Thread: How do i change the planet textures?? | Forum: Vue
Well they must be textured because they've got real-world detail on them. Its a bit of an oversight not to let people change/add planets. Seems like it would be simple to implement.
Thread: How do i change the planet textures?? | Forum: Vue
Vue must get the texture for use on the planet from someplace, can't we just replace the texture?

Thread: Copyright Issues. | Forum: Vue
You automatically have copyright over anything you create. The only problem is proving that you did create something, a large copyright message might suffice but it really doesn't matter what the wording is. I would suggest the wording you already mentioned, plus post the picture here so you have an upload date you can claim.
Thread: Terragen vs Vue vs Bryce / PC vs Mac | Forum: Vue
Mac or PC - Its really down to which one you like most. Seriously, I prefer Windows & just can't get on with the Macs we have at college, but I know people at college who are just the opposite. Terragen - free obviously :) - poor animation, no trees etc. Vue - Camera hard to 'get right' during animation but Vue Pro fixes that if you have Lightwave/Maya etc. Great trees. Fast renderer. Import models. Bug fixes galore in the future for Pro. Bryce - Sorry, don't know, but if its no longer developed then its future is limited.
