Excelent! I knew the file was Xtra large but did not know where to go from there. Honestly I do not understand the first thing about what you have done to improve it. Looks like Greek t'me. Hmmmm maybe we need an advanced tutorial explaining vn and detruangularization and welding? jje
Thread: Cosmo CD has free digital camera in UK | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I work for Polaroid whose camera it is on the Cosmo box. Since I support digital cameras for a living and I like you guys too much, let me say....do not waste your money. The resolution is to low to do anything but fool around. There is a poor serial connection, worse software and no Mac version. Based on what I have seen come out during this holiday season re digital cameras you can do a lot better for the same money. I strongly recomend no one buy anything less than 1 megapixel in size, LED screen and removable storage card. And watch out for cameras using cheap plastic lenses. jje

Aaargh Here I sit with m'blazin'T1, wanting to download that hair and Geo-freakin-cities wont let me! Worse yet the "screamin paranoids" here are pulling the plug on all the computer systems today at 6EST. And while we are at it...why am I stuck here for the rest of the week using computers and using the phone when after tonite there will be no computers nor phones. Aint 'merican business a hoot? They aint interested in productivity they are interested in the power of keeping your ass in their chair. Whoa, jje - flame off. Everyone realizes by now you have had enuf with your job. Anyone got any leads in NE? jje

OH BOY Sheep! Le'me at em...er...oh...its just you Darth. Of corse they rock, silly person. I was looking at some of your tests over the holidays and thinking how I might model those coils in Amapi. No one's done a style that I need for my next character (30's curly pompador, no bangs) and even though I dread doing it your studies got me to thinkin. And if you think that first thing tomorrow when I saddle up to my T1 at work that I wont be pulling all 3MB down for my library, then you be plumb crazy. jje

I installed it today on my Mac at work (leaving my Mac in the studio alone, crazy like a fox he is). Instal isn't all that hard. Just drag and drop between two windows in list view. I'll be giving it a thorough workout for the rest of the week as I get the final Kelly images ready for uploading. jje

You are right using the alpha channel does eliminate the need for the magic brush stage. But I've found that a lot of times I feel the alpha channel edge is too hard against what I am pasting onto. By contracting into the selected area then feathering out, images lay down on to my backgrounds better. jje

Thread: Looking for cloth textures and gloves. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

The only silks I have been able to find come with built in folds showing the irridescense (sp). I guess that makes sense since a straight on view is not going to show the "silkiness" of the fabric. Instead I have been trying to do the same thing by choosing an desirable pattern and then working it in P'shop until I get a range of colors [pure white-->Electric colors or pure black-->Electric colors] and then finessing the reflection when I bring it into Poser. Whether I am suceeding or not will be up to you guys when I start posting the Hat Check Kelly pages in a week or so (and don't think I'm not sweating that) BTW I DID find a use for silk with folds. Hat Check Kelly sleeps under silk sheets jje
Thread: Need your Harshest Critiques | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Very very nice! I cannot wait to read the story. Now Now!!! IMHO All these comix (we gotta come up with a better descriptor) are likely to be the main way any of us are going to see any returns on our investments (emotional, financial, etc) Maybe we need a comics (#@!$ innacurate descriptor) forum??? Ok, my (toughluv) crit -->I missed the whole coming out of the vortex thing. I like the idea of incorporating the bg images into it -->I would bend the chest forward a bit more to accentuate the feeling of forward motion. Giving the impression of motion is really tough in P4 without resorting to blurs or motion lines. Anyone else notice that? --> Doing that you would have to tilt the head back to keep that head jaunt that I absolutely love. -->I might take the L&R shoulders and reverse them. When you step forward with your left (as she is) your right arm and shoulder move forward. Even if she is being projected out and her arms are supposed to be behind her, I'd bend her so that the upper right of her body is the leading edge.
Thread: File Conversion Help Needed | Forum: Poser Technical
Thanks Anthony sigh Methinks next time I should check out the links that Renderosity is kind enough to supply over there on the right. I found 3DWin last night about an hour after I posted my request. This is a Mac production studio but luckily we have a few PCs around. So, after a few false start conversions and cajoling my G3 to please throw more RAM at the file, I finally was able to open the file as DXF. A very cool utility, that! jje
Thread: P4 Male Textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've been running into the same problem. Where oh where could I find male head shots to build into realistic textures? Then it hit me: Baseball Cards! Its no help if you want to design a complete body but it is a start. jje
