Oh, yeah, I see what you're saying now. I guess that 's problem solved then.
Now I must go off on another errand of mercy, spreading cheer and donuts wherever I go.

The file would certainly help. But I also heard on one of the other threads that one can open the .igs files in a text editor. If you don't mind looking through miles of code, that might help, too.

I don't understand. I'm using Blender v. 2.44 with Python v. 2.5, and everything in that regard specifically works okay. However, I started with v. 2.5. I don't know if that means anything, but, whatever.

Here's a test render that I did. It's the "glossy_glass_test."

Yes, I heard about this. However, I'm doing to wait until there's a stable release for the Blender exporter. (Yes, I know I'm in for a wait).

This is the global coordinate system. It keeps the x/y/z coordinates the same from one vieport to another. Does this make any sense?

I'm a little closer to figuring out the problem. I at least have a temporary solution. I went down to the local public library, got on one of their computers, and downloaded v. 2.43 onto flash memory. Then the export functions worked just fine.
Now I just have to fuigure what on the stupid computer at home is messing everything up.

Blender is compiled in C? You've got to be ulling my leg! Of course, you are the wise and ever knowledgeable user, and I am just a newbie. I will acquiesce to whatever you say.

Thanks. I also found a post on the Blender forum for YafRay.

Yeah, it's sad. Python looks cool and all, but it's still a pain to have to download it. Still, I have dial-up also, and it didn't take me near as long. I think that you can get a smaller, stripped version, instead of some complete download. I'd have to check the site again, though :)
Oh, and Blender terrains must be sweet. If you still have trouble with A.N.T., try the Ter2Blend script at geocities.

I can get YAFRay to render, but I rarely get satisfactory results (i.e. black areas, blank image).

Thread: 3ds export | Forum: Blender
From .blend:
3ds export time 0.02
Rad elems: 952 emittors 0
From .3ds
3ds export time 0.78
And here is the Indigo render; however, the materials rather failed to come out as you can plainly see.

Thread: 3ds export | Forum: Blender
By some miracle, I just met with success. Instead of using a .blend file, I imported a .3ds file that I made in a different program. After that, everything worked perfectly. The .3ds file exported back out just fine, and I exported the .igs file with all the scene info in it. If anyone can tell me why this is happening, I would greatly appreciate it.
Oh, and I've got Indigo running right now. Let you all know how it turns out.
