To be precise, I suppose.
But please point me to any child figure/morph (for both Poser and Daz Studio going from ages 5 to 20) and tell me I didn't come the closest to realism with Lucy Zepp http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/lucy-zepp-for-v4-s4-elite/97550 or Sabrina Blinker http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/sabrina-blinker-v4-elite-s4/83743
As far as I know, there are no characters or figure on the market (Renderosity, Daz3D, or others for Poser and DS) that looks more realistic then my last two characters (I only deal with Renderosity, I have nothing in any other marketplace).
The Genesis "Young Teens 5" is nice and cute but too "cartoonish", no one has attempted for realism with that figure (especially in the face), you can easily tell them apart from real kids. And you can't "age" her down to 5 years old. I'm considering doing that figure as just a teen, but need to know how to add my morphs into Genesis.
Besides, I didn't come here to start a childish war, I simply asked a technical Poser question but someone had to cut my work down and "correct" me . Bad move.

Thread: Stephanie4 "Proportions" in Poser 8? Help? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - Simple resizing of the complete mesh is not the same as scaling limbs while maintaining properly working joints.
Prior to Poser 9/PP 2012 SR2 single axis scaling did not work properly. That's why it was fixed.*
And that's the kind of scaling you need to change a figure's proportions.
Anyway, you want to turn V4 into a proper preteen, you need to either re-rig her completely or need to adjust the animateable joint centers.
I'd like to thank everyone who replied here. Though I do have to disagree with this quote... first, since two people are already saying the S4 proportion morphs work fine in Poser 8 (though the proportion morphs do scale certain body morphs as well), and second but most importantly saying that I need to create a whole new figure or re-rig V4. S4 proportion morphs (especially "petite") scales the arms, torso, and legs differently then the whole body. It also scales the whole body differently. Scaling the body would make her smaller, same percentage height as the width and depth, while the proportion actually scales the character as "younger", in which the arms, legs, width/depth, and torso gets scaled differently, even the head slightly.
I've studied images of kids for years and have always scaled the different body parts in Daz Studio (even hands and feet) accordingly to what I learned, before S4 came out (I worked exclusively in DS since Poser didn't support scalings then). Even now I still scale the head, feet, and hands along with S4's proportion. I have recieved many critiques and learned from them, but more over have recieved so much encouragements about my work. I was even known as "the V4 child king" (lol, as silly as that sounds, and not to praise myself, but it's true).
I still crituque my own work at times to be honest, but always refresh myself with differnt photos and came to the conslusions that children grow differently. Re-rigging V4 or creating a different character, in my opinion, is pretty much useless, especially after this certain upcoming product that I might release after Lucy Zepp Adult is released.
Daz3D.com with it's Kid4 and Genesis-YoungTeen still don't come close to realism when it comes to child/teen morphs and I've had 5 people tell me that I should work for them to get it right lol. Kid4 was a laugh, though they were cute "cartoon" type kids. They did great for the body with the Genesis teens, but still have a long ways to go with the big cartoon looking heads (Boy teen not so much as the girl teen).
Again, thanks everyone, I'll update the customer with this info and hopefully we'll sort out this situation.

Thread: Dynamic Clothes... avoiding or deleting a material zone, possible? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
markschum, it didn't work, if I recall, there were still two parts of the boyshorts, which splited apart, though there were only one material. So what I did was deleted "usemt trim" and made the lines underthat combined with "usemt cloth" (so that there's only one material call on both parts, hoping they won't split apart), which also didn't work. So then my next step was to delete "usemt trim" and everything under it and left "usemt cloth" intact. That worked.
Laurie, Soft-decorated did work for a little, but after a while the two pieces started splitting up. Unfortunately the boyshorts weren't made with Poser's animation in mind, so simply deleting the trim was the only answer.
PhilC, I did look around a little, but am not sure what you mean by "editing tools", what room and where do you find "editing tools"? What I did (simply deleting it via Notepad++" worked fine, but this would be another good lesson.
Now it's time for me to learn how to make the clothes wrinkle more smoother instead of crumble lol.
Ok, for the Poser animation itself, why it takes so long, is I'm very picky. If you go from one slight twist (say the legs for example) in frame.... say 5, to one twist in frame 10, and left the other frames "free" or "blank", the twisting will go wankers between the assigned frames. It's exagerating for a small twisting, but for a more movement assignment, it's pretty bad. So what I have to do is go frame by frame and assign each properties (ie twist, bend, side-side) for each body parts, and the translate for the hip or body as well. Not to mention, even your body morphs go funky. Doing all that for 40 frames is a major headache, no wonder I don't like doing animations lol, and no wonder why a lot of animations aren't perfect, you see some funny movements from time to time. Sure, it's fun, I love it but I hate it. Daz Studio does that as well (from past experience). I seriously doubt there's a solution for that (except going through the pain of assigning each properties frame by frame), I'm pretty sure it's the programs themselves in which the producers probably can't solve.
So anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this image, it took me ages to do (including the end result which is nudity, I won't load it here). Sorry for the thief proof signatures, there's way too many image stealing going around. And thanks so much again for all your answers! :)
(a note about the image, I notice that when you do partial renders with indirect lights enabled, they seem to come out a bit different, so you'll notice something funny. Also it seems that no matter how high I set the quality of indirect, the "background" still renders a bit rough, could be my low quality video card, or my computer itself, not sure. I have a 32bit dual 2.4GH, 2GB ram and onboard video).

Ok, tried the last two suggestions (haven't tried searching UVMapper yet).
PhilC, I did as you suggested, created a new dynamic group, called it "Boyshorts-spawn" and only assigned the cloth (material zone) to it. When I spawned it (found it in the "Edit Dynamic Group" window), Poser loaded a new "Figure6", "Hip", "Lthigh", and "Rthigh". Strange... the "figure6" prop was the whole thing, the hip, lthigh, and rthigh were separate props. Deleted the strange props and looked at the material room for the "Figure6" prop, still had two materials, doing the dynamic things, they still acted as same as the original obj file. I might be missing something here.
Laurie, I did the soft decorated and it worked, the shorts are no longer tearing apart and is following the cloth, thanks a lot!

Didn't see that while typing, thanks a lot, Laurie! Will try that as well (am learning everything everyone answers for later references).

Very much appreciate that answer, PhilC! Have never messed with the new group thing (or deleting them), but that's certainly worth a try (will experiment and learn). How do you spawn in Poser? I know what spawning is (do it in DS all the time) but not sure how to in Poser. Also, if you delete an existing group in Poser, does that delete one of permanant groups out of Poser? Didn't want to take that chance lol.

Thanks for your reply, hborre! Have heard of UVMapper but never got it or really understood (or learned) UV mapping, but now I feel that I would better understand it and will probably learn it quick if I had the program. Is it free or can you point me to where I can purchase it?
If I remember correctly I believe you can do something like this in Daz Studio 4 (just remembered this) with the tools (given free at the time I believe), I'll have to check that out as well and export it from there as obj or cr2. Anyone know about that tool and how to use it? Also would like to hear some more answers in the Poser matters.
Edit... oops, forgot to mention, the trim and cloth recieve the same UV map/material (same textures as well).

Thread: Is saying something nice more... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
(didn't read all the comments on this post but got enough info to comment)...
This is exactly why I don't bother posting images or comment on uploads here, if I did, then I support what the general people here do... just pat your back and go on like this is only a business, spending a few seconds not even looking at details or absurbing anything (I see so much repetitive remarks, more likely copy/paste/go). Also people only wishing for a pat on the back. I feel like the "gallery" here is only a "statistic" business place, people want only statistic, and if you pat their back, they'll pat your back. Blah, that's not what a gallery is about. In here, you can't communicate back & forth and talk about details, and it's hard to ask for criticues here 'cause you can't ask questions (you're only permitted to post once in your upload)... that is, unless you sitemail back & forth where other people can't see and learn things as well.
I hang around DeviantArt, where true artists hang out & we can actually COMMUNICATE and have discussions, also we have this special option to tick "critique my art" when loading images, or we ask people in our "Artist's Comment" to critique our art or ask for help, and have the ability to reply directly to them where they'll get the message notification. Other people browsing those comments will see and learn things as well.
As for people that don't want to learn how to do things the right way, they don't deserve the title "artists", they only play in 3D programs & load images as a game, killing time, or addiction or just to get a pat on the back. This "gallery" at Renderosity don't make sense to me at all, it's a "pat my back and I'll pat your back" system. A gallery should be a place where you load images and get encouragements/critiques from other people, or give encouragement/critiques... to help one another, and then or course get special recognition for stunning art work.
There are, however, trolls everywhere we look, which are rude people who go around cutting people's art down (or cutting them down themselves) and don't offer help. When I say "critique", I'm talking about encouraging the good areas of the images first, then make suggestions/offer help on the parts that don't look good... if you have the artist's permission. If you don't, then don't offer.
The only reason (and the only reason) I'm good at what I'm doing now is 'cause I always asked for critiques and help in learning how to produce great, natural art. I've also absorbed a lot of discussions at Daz3D and DeviantArt and learned a lot from them, as well as spent many... MANY MANY hours experimenting things. Hadn't been for that, I'd still be using ugly shadowless lights, producing ultra bright art without occlusion shading and shadows, or ultra dark shaded areas with hard shadows. In art, you don't teach/learn yourselves, you absorb others' art/communications and learn (from other experienced artists) the tools of the trade.
My two cents... :)

The shrinking to normal size V4/shrinking clothes worked beautifully, just tried it :) Again thanks!
BTW in the image, there's only two lights, one back/left rim and one front left, both point lights, no shadowless garbage or trick lights.

And thanks everyone for all the other answers, I downloaded PhilC's presets and they work fine!
Here's the result so far... was playing with her hand sneaking under the shirt, beautiful!
Shirt is 3DAge's "Honey" with Silver/Inception's "Insomnia" textures and my "pink cotton" type surface settings (their setting was great, but I wanted a cotton shirt instead of a leather look).
Panty is 3DAge's "Excitement" with my surface settings.
Character is... well, a secret for now, but remember "No quicky, no glow, no bad works, no bull" (SSS version) ;)
Here's the render, thanks again friends!

Quote - philC had some presets for different fabric for the clothroom.
I sometimes just clothify a part of the clothing like a sleeve or abdo just to add a little realism. "Hybrid"
Thanks, friend, can you point me to where his presets are?

Quote - And with Daz re releasing the Stephanie 4 shape to their store even better now. :) I found that Stephy really good for the extra morphs that were provided.
Hmm, I got her when she first came out (Stephanie 4 Elite for V4), you mean to say they've upgraded her since? Not sure what you mean by "re-releasing". Anyone know this?

Hey Brother Wolf. Glad your project is on it's way to completion ... promos are a total bitch to do but it's what helps sell a product!
(bold emphasized by me) Especially being a nit picker like I am lol, sometimes I kick myself for being so picky, but yes, great promos do sell, I certainly agree! :)

I'm just getting so excited about your development, Alex! Love mandrill, it looks soooooooo cool and the hair so realistic! And I'm focused on more realistic renders then anything these days, so that's gonna be real exciting!!!
Hey, brother Wolff! I read your "UPS" story, hahaha poor guy. That gal sounds like my kinda gal, to poke fun and pick on friends :) I do that all the time hehe :)
Finally done with my project, but eh... promos are always so difficult... that is.. the arrangements parts, and my procrastination gets the best of me at times. The teen/kids promos almost done, then onto the adult sighs

Love the wolf and bear renders, absolutely stunning!! Now I can actually use my wolf that I bought a few years back at Daz3D :)
Hmm... armpit hair for the women anyone? LOL kidding :)
