Okay, I just installed the Python interpreter and library. Blender recognizes the install, and the error is gone. However, my .3ds files still do not contain any mesh data. It is absolutely the weirdest thing.
In regard to D.R.'s question, I can export to Indigo using Indigo Export 1.21. www2.indigorenderer.com/joomla/forum/viewtopic.php
However, that only contains the render information. The .3ds file is still needed.

Yeah, obviously I found it. I just looked in the downloads section first, and it wasn't listed.

Quote - Import error: No module named struct
It looks like I can now do OBJ import/export, but I get ditto error in the cmd prompt for .3ds.

Well, I've got v. 2.44 now with Python 2.5, and, um, I can't see much of a change. There might be a conflict somewhere....
Oh, and now when I try to export to .3ds I get "Python script error: check console."

Okay, one more question: Does Blendigo do more than material rendering, or can it do entire scenes?
Oh, and I can't do OBJ exports, either. Apparently, my whole Python interpreter is shot.

Ok, Indigo does work. I just have trouble exporting. And let's see here...I have Final Export 1.2 for Indigo 0.7. This exports to .igs format, instead of .xml. I don't know if this is a problem, but that's the only format I can export to.
The manual also says that I need a .3ds file. That's where I really run into headaches. Hopefully, I'll upgrade to v. 2.44 soon, even though it seems like I just got v. 2.43

Okay, I should have posted this before, but I'm running v.2.43. When I start the program, the command prompt reads that, "Checking for installed Python... No installed Python. Only built-in modules are available. Some scripts may not run."
No doubt this is what's causing the error.

Thread: engine | Forum: Blender
Quote - things like yafray render to a final image and are not realtime. blender's game engine uses directX or openGL, There would be no reason whatsoever to render with yafray. there are a couple of other realtime renderers like unreal engine, but i dont think you can use it directly with blender's game engine.
Right. Never use YafRay as a realtime engine. Assuming that you've used it before, YafRay takes at least 15 minutes to render even a simple scene. You need a game engine designed specifically for, well, games. Try en.wikipedia.org and search for "game engine."
Hope that helps.

Try using YafRay. It has native DoF support and has built-in integration with Blender 2.4. (You still need to download it, though www.yafray.org).

Thanks. I didn't expect an answer that quick. Perhaps this will finally prompt me to go through the manual. (Which I should've done sooner).

Aarrgh. No matter how many people vouch for the easy-to-use functionality of Blender, you're right in this instance. The interface might have come from outer space. It doesn't hold to many general modeling standards, and its different modesare beyond my current level of understanding.
I hope you know that there are other people out there that have just as much trouble with Blender as you do. Right now I'm checking out the tutorials at www.blender.org. Maybe they'll help some.

I'll have to cast my vote for #15 because of the excellent use of reflection.

Quote - as this isn't a job opportunity this would of been better posted in the "3D Modelling" forum or the "Challenge Arena" forum.
Ummm, this the "Challenge Arena" forum. Perhaps you got lost and clicked on the wrong link.
