I think that D|S has definite possibilities but is still a way early Alpha like people have been correctly pointing out. With hope, within a year or so they should get though the Beta to a halfway decent releasable base module. Then they'll probably be able to quickly start gaining on Poser from there.

if Daz can support .cr2 files, how long do you think it will take before e frontier decides the upcoming Poser 6 should support .daz files? You'll most likely see it going back and forth, what one does the other will match.

We shouldn't have to fix any figures, we should be telling Daz to make the changes to their program. D|S shouldn't be another Poser? It should be whatever the community wants & if it isn't the community should hold Daz's feet to the fire. That's how you get a program you want, letting them off and saying "no sweat, I'll make the changes" is how you get a half-assed piece of crap proggy that people can mearly live with rather than really get excited about.

for Z-tooning type stuff, is D|S even really needed at all? What would be the difference? I'm not being smart, really wondering and don't know enough about it to tell

all right... the crappy way the V3 breasts are attached to both the chest and the collar areas meaning they don't work as well as the far superior (if smaller mesh size) V2. Are the breasts still attached to both or have they corrected their mistake?

I assume the biggest difference would be different naming on the magnets allowing for both Sarah and Veronika to be used without crosstalk. Same basic thing goes for all WyrmMaster characters.

Anton - are you saying that D|S will be able to fix the crappy way the Millennium figures joints work without us having to wait for the next generation of characters? I am so sick of the kinking and bulging in the leg & arm joints and the horrific breasts in V3 that I'll go and kiss someone at Daz on the mouth if D|S can do something about these megaflaws

simply and sadly the truth, don't release anything if you can't take finding it where it shouldn't be. You'll give yourself ulsers and the person that did it simply won't care.

Things to know... If you release something either in a store or as a freebee, it WILL be stolen, it WILL be used comercially and you WILL find it in Warez. Be prepared for this, know it's coming & don't freak out when it DOES happen.

I just hope D|S isn't like Vicky 3. Something that takes a lot more power, has incredible hype, costs a ton to buy what you already had... but then when you start fooling around with it find out it's incredibly flawed and needed a lot more work before it ever should have been released.

Personally I'd recommend making subfolders to keep stuff you download in and grouping by type for easy access later. For example, keep Household Props in a Props/Household Props folder, V3 clothing seperate from V2 etc... Also, I'd suggest renaming the zips to more descriptive names and possibly even keeping the thumbnails renamed to match the zips. I have over 15,000 free items collected and I can find any item quickly and easily because I thought to do this.

I think CL was pretty much all but dead before P5 was ever released and that the early release was a last desperate gasp at survival. Hopefully this purchase breathes new life into Poser, it would be sad if just when the market was expanding to two proggies with D|S imminent launch we were to lose Poser and be down to one again.
