Thread: Poses and Mats - enuf awhreddy | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
What irks me is that you can't nest pose groups. It would be great if the menu could handle SchlabberComic PosesSet 1 instead of having everything at one level.
Thread: anyone have any poses-ideas ?? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Actually there are a LOT of specialised poses around which most people would ever need once if at all. What I find most useful are casual standing-around poses. Nothing bold, nothing extreme, just natural everyday relaxed poses. Of course, they are quite easy to do, so no-one bothers about them.
Thread: Difference between Poser- and Bryce-renderings | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hmm ... actually I find the Bryce interface a lot easier than Poser's to work with, especially for arranging objects and lighting. Poser is sluggish and awkward. It seems to me that Poser's renderings tend to be "soft" compared to Bryce. If a body mesh has a slight discontinuity between two parts, you will really notice it in Bryce, but not so much in Poser. I think the lighting in the Bryce pic above needs improvement - it looks too harsh and yellow. Also I suspect a texture mode problem in the background - are you using world space instead of world cubic?
Thread: Importing .3dmf files into Bryce 5 | Forum: Bryce
It's possible I can shed some light on this. There is a site offering architectural models in what it calls 3dmf format, but the files have the extension .dw. It's an ASCII based format and Bryce won't read it. Nor will the xdsoft conversion program. If anyone has any more information about .dw format, please chip in!
Thread: Bryce 4 : Radiosity - Ambience - Global Illumination - Glare - How To? | Forum: Bryce
Wouldn't having 100 lights also increase your render times rather, never mind the amount of labour in setting them all up in the first place? I admire your dedication! BTW that's an interesting beastie.

Thread: September Challenge winner | Forum: Bryce
Well, it could be worse, you might have chosen Succoth. Please remember that in most countries of the world, Halloween means nothing.
Thread: P4Vskin - remapping posette to take vicky skins | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm with chriscox - getting Vicky to take Posette skins would be much more useful. All those Happyworld textures ...
Thread: My impressions after using the Bryce 5 and Vue 4 demos | Forum: Bryce
With Bryce 4 I find that while it is rendering, sure I can use the computer for other things, but most other programs have the effect of slowing the render speed by 95%.
Thread: Poser to Brcye? | Forum: Bryce
The textures will be only partially intact owing to weaknesses in the Poser .obj export routine. It's possible to leave the textures in Poserruntimetextures as long as you don't mind directing Bryce to this directory when you load.

I find the ability to switch views rapidly in Bryce using the keys `,1,2,3,4 makes a four-pane view unecessary. To help in selecting objects in Bryce, hold the control key when you click - this makes life much easier! The camera and director are very useful, particularly when you exploit the ability to move C to D and vice versa. Suppose you are working in camera mode. You have the shot more or less angled up, but there's something strange you need to have a closer look at. Pull D to C, switch to D, move in and look closer. Fix the problem. Did it work? Switch make to C and look. Still a little adjustment needed? Back to D. And all viewpoint switches need just one keypress, unlike say Poser, where you have memorise ctl+ all sorts of things.
Thread: TELL ME WHAT TO MAKE AS BUILDINGS PROP | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
My suggestion would be a set of similar houses that are all a little bit different. Then they one could use an assortment of them to make a street. (If you use the same house over and over again you don't get such a realistic street).
Thread: problem with color on 3DS prop after save to pz3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When you first import the 3ds, can you see the different groups in the Render materials dialogue? Have you tried using .obj format instead of 3ds?
Thread: Has anyone checked out Discreet's GMax yet? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes, I was interested in GMax when I first heard about it - then I discovered about the game pack restriction. End of interest.
