Are there tools or scripts you use to take some of the burden of repetitive actions? I mean, rigging would be a lot less intimidating if it wasn't "For Step 174 you do this, then for step 175..."

Well, pjz99 convinced me that this is not something I want to attempt myself, unless I intend to become a vendor and do it for a living. I just don't have that kind iof time or desire to make one piece of clothing fit a different Genesis body. Ack! Auto-Fit had better work like a charm in Poser (better than WW2) is all I can say.
Thread: Stop expressions removing face morphs P9 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This was a bigger problem earlier when some inexperienced vendors didn't create or save their expressions properly. I haven't seen it much lately. It could happen when:
A) The vendor used non-expression morphs (the face-sculpting morphs) to help create the expression.
B) The vendor may have used only the correct expression morphs, but neglected to exclude the non-expression morphs when saving the expression. Thus when it was applied, all non-expression face morphs were reset to zero and boom, your character was gone.
A similar problem occurred when a vendor would sell a set of body poses and they would convert every custom body shape to Victoria's default body. Don't see that one much any more, either.

Past versions of Victoria have been the foundation from which (with the help of Morphs++) many characters could be built. Now that V5 herself is but a morph, rather than a base figure, how will that work? If a vendor makes a dress for V5, for example, how easily and well does it fit a different Genesis girl?
Since this is a Poser forum, I am asking how it will work in Poser rather than how they do it in DS4.

The Antonia thread is 11,442 posts long. Good luck trying to find specific information in it. That's the flaw with trying to confine discussion about whatever figure to a single thread. I like the specific topic or question to be in the thread title!

I'm sure all the other threads about V5 and Genesis started out with good intentions, too. Somehow it always degenerates, from seeking education (or educating others) about something new to "Why didn't DAZ make it Poser compatible from the start?' and fighting about that.
As stated in the thread that the OP spun this off from, I genuinely want to know what makes the V5 morph of Genesis any different than the Annie, Brenda or Jennifer morphs that have or will be made for Genesis? Aside from bigger/smaller breasts and bigger/smaller hips, I mean. Is V5 just one more morph for Genesis, or is there something about it that makes it the next step in the volution of the iconic 3D figure that its name implies. Perhaps someone who has imported it into Poser, in whatever limited way, has some idea about this.
I'm interested in the question for content creators that Phil raised, too. Not sure what to make of the idea that a little black dress would fit Michael or The Freak just as well as it does Vicky!

Locking the thread would defeat the purpose of generating V5 discussion. Locking threads is part of the reason why there are so few V5 threads in evidence here. Fortunately this one has not (yet) become the senseless mud fight that caused others to be locked. There are some healthy points of discussion here. Simply unsubscribe if you've lost interest in your thread.

Re: V5's low poly. I have no personal knowledge, but my understanding is that Genesis subdivides and becomes high poly during posing and then goes back to low again? So how do the bends etc. look after posing and she is low poly again? Logically she would need to be high poly all the time for everything to look smooth, right? Or does she become high poly at render time as well?

Is the "V5" morph the same as the V4 default shape? Is that why this particular morph is pitched as the next evolution of Victoria?
If it's not, someone should make a "V4 Base" morph for Genesis, along with Elite, Stephanie 4, Aiko 4, Girl 4 etc. variations. That would grreatly expand the appeal of Genesis for those who are rather attached to their investment in Generation 4. Along with getting it to work in Poser, of course.

If V5 is just another body/face morph for Genesis, like the others that have been released for Genesis, I'm not sure exactly what makes her "Victoria 5" other than DAZ saying she's "Victoria 5." Would we know she's V5 if she'd been named Linda or Sue?

It's not hard to find Victorian-style underwear. RDNA has a collection of it (and outerwear, too) and I believe there are some examples here as well.

I think V5 will generate more interest outside the immediate Daz Studio community once there is a native Poser version and she can easily wear V4's wardrobe.
As someone noted above, we all have way too much invested in V4 to go through all that again for a new paid product that is not very compatible with Poser yet. It would be as if Blackhearted came out with Girl Next Door 5 and made it ifor Daz Studio only and with a clunky, limited compatiblity with GND4 or V4. Just no incentive for me to take interest except in a clinical way, such as "oh cool" or "meh" as the case may be.
Anuyway, I think that's why so little discussion outside the Daz Studio world. Most of the talk over here seems to degenerate into Daz vs. Poser mudfights. Some of the threads get locked when it gets ridiculous and they drop down the queue.
Thread: Poser 60% Off Sale Questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At CP some vendors have taken some of their products "off the shelf" for this sale. Products they don't want to sell for 60% off and have a pittance after giving CP their cut. Hard to blame them, I guess. Naturally these are the kind of things I would buy at such a markdown! :)
Thread: Poser 60% Off Sale Questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I hadn't been to CP in a very long time. I must say, I've been spoiled by Rendo and RDNA and DAZ. At CP it seems like a lot of the products (at least in the Props and Scenes category) look like the Free Stuff here at Rendo. Not the quality, I don't know about that since I haven't bought the stuff, but the presentation: primitve figures in stiff poses and weird expressions used to populate the scenes, primitve lighting and renders that make the textures look primitive and amatuerish as well. Kinda turned me off. Like a lot of them were somebody's first attempt at making something. Other categories, like Figures and Clothing, aren't as bad.
Even with 60% off, I walked away without buying. I was tempted by a $16 Miki 3 (whose regular price is $40, which seemed a lot). But then I thought I'd have to buy a lot of new clothing that only fits Miki 3. I haven't beem able to get Wardrobe Wizard 2 to work well for me.
Still, if there's something you've been waiting to buy from SM or CP, 60% off makes it a good time to do it.
