Personally I've never had any of the major problems with 5 that I've read about in various threads. I've rendered scenes with MANY Daz Generation 3 characters (up to 9 is all I've tried so far) all clothed and "accessorized" plus environmental props and characters. I've done this boh in firefly (a vastly superior renderer to the p4 renderer if you configure it properly) and in p4 renderer with very few problems (mostly with high poly hair models) I usually have photoshop open in the background. My machine is hardly "top of the line" . It only a 1.5 GHZ with 768 MB ram. I think the key here is XP. 98 just doent handle memory as well as xp does. XP isn't a panacea but I think it will help you out immensely. That combined with seperating your p4 and p5 should benefit you quite a bit. Yes P5 has a small memery leak, but its nothing that can't be purged with free utilities. If you think p5 is memory intensive, try maya or 3ds. You might as well not even have IE running with either of those two.
Thread: Enabling my download | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
According to my PalPal Account, the transaction was "completed" at approximately 6 pm PT yesterday. Later that evening (approximately 2-3 hours later) I received the confirmation e-mail re-stating the same thing. I have the transaction number, and the original invoice number. It is pushing close to the twelve hour mark since receipt of payment and still no download availability, yet the faq clearly stated that downloads will be available immediately upon receipt of payment. No where does it say that receipt of paypal payments are restricted to office hours. I'm not trying to be pushy, but when one purchases something for a very specific time-sensitive business purpose, one expects the transaction to be made in a timely fashion; especially when the merchant business deals with as large of a volume as here. I can safely say that this will be my last Paypal purchase here, and more than likely my last business done here as well if this is not cleared up quickly.

"People simply disappeared, always during the night. Your name was removed from the registers, every record of everything you had ever done was wiped out, your one-time existence was denied and then forgotten. You were abolished, annhilated: vaporized was the usual word." "Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? Has it ever occurred to your, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinkingnot needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness." Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make fore. Like you papabluemarlin, I do not consider myself (it would be pretty obvious after a couple minutes of conversation) to be PC. I probably would have found dailyn's post amusing had it not been made by an OFFICIAL FORUM COODINATOR. My biggest beef is that here we have a representative of a company whose clientell have some genuine and honest (and in my opinion legitimate) concerns regards the ethical practices in the application of the various TOS. Rather than atempting to diffuse the situation and actually address the issue (or direct someone who CAN) she chose to demean and belittle the customer who through his/her patronage makes her position exist. That has got to be the most pisspoor example of customer service and decent respect that Renderosity has become infamous for. You may say that it is not in response to the last couple of days threads, but in my opinion the timing and phrasing indicate that is EXACTLY what it is.

Nice to see that you think other artists legitimate concerns are a joke. I don't find it funny at all.

Thread: Inj Pose Builder - What Am I Doing Wrong? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just got it to work by re-installing IPB and the patch over the old one and it worked just fine. Just make sure that you install the patch IMMEDIATEly after installing the base program. Do it before you open ANY cr2's or anything.

So Steffy bringing to a light an infringement, posting proof, and further posting of her EULA, and expressing anger is all considered slander? That's laughable. Talk about putting the victim on trial.
Thread: Buyers of QIN - Bytemeok please read - copyright infringement | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
how is it slander? it was true. Slander has to be false with maliscous (sp?) intent... this was not.

Yes, texture resources are bought and sold, but she says herself in her reply that in the past she has only ever used hwn cretions... but then she says that she's never had a problem with trading textures before... SO which is it going to be? The bottom line is the I CANNOT now risk buying anything from her even if it was an honest mistake. If I produce something at work and it turns out that I used an infringed texture (even by complete mistake) that costs my company time and money and reputation. Even more so if that purchase was made from a merchant with a past infringement incident.

Actually, yes she does in fact owe an expanation to the people who purchased the Qin texture and may have risked legal action against themselves by using a texture they were led to beleive was legit in commmercial renders.
