you might want to look at the MountainMan outfit in the MP by RPD. The version I'm using is for M3 but she made have made a new one for M4.

From my experimenting, mostly Hex to Poser issues of how to maintain a sharp edge I found splitting the vertices in UVMapper apparently creates a new mesh by altering the edges by the given crease angle. that's why I map after I split.
to prove this to myself I made a very simple wall. Went through the splitting process.
Made a sizing morph and when I tried applying it to the wall in Poser I got a wrong vertice error.
Split the morph obj then it worked. It matched the vertice count of the wall.
I haven't seen an Un-Weld function in UVMapper so I can't comment on how that might work.
This technique can be further refined, depending on if the modelling app can assign textures and export them. Then the areas that need to remain sharp can be split by material.
Is this the proper way to fix a bad obj? Who knows but so far between splitting vertices and checking for concave facets I've been able to fix most anything I've needed so far for use in either P4pp or P7.

If you wish to just keep the ring as a single prop with the stone nice and sharp it is simple if you have UVMapper.
Bring the ring into UVMapper
Select the ring group
Map it, assign to a material
Select the stone
Under the Tools use the Verices, Split vertices by group option
Map it, assign to a material.
Save wit no options selected, I suggest adding uvs to the name.
Import that into Poser and check.
If this works for you would you please let me know.

You say you have the book. I'd take a look on the inside front or back page. sometimes a sn is on a sticky there.

This might help the OP depending on the complexity of the model.... Open the model in UVMapperPro then under the Tools select vertices the select Split by Vertices, option group, or material all depends on what you are attempting to fix.
Note, you may have to remap.
Save the model under a new name, import into Poser and test.
This is what that operation resulted in... no seams showing in render.

One suggestion is to take the closest Mil Dog texture into your paint program and make a copy then add your dog's marking and color there. If you don't change the scale of the texture it should fit the Mil Dog when you are done.

I don't think I've seen a tut but the app is pretty uch straight forward. before you start make sure you have the P5Judy license.
Load the clothing, top window
Select what figure it was made fore, called From. It will have a drop down list
Quality...High
Convert To, Select the figure from the drop down liat
Options
For a skirt, check the box. Note it will want to add body handled for you, Sometimes it's OK, sometimes not. Play with that option and see what works best for you.
If the clothes have morphs there is an option to transfere them.
I have read that people have used this option to transfer figure morphs to clothes and other figures. I haven't tried so don't knoe how well it works.

Dave,
What is the base figure you are using? V3, P5Judy?
If your base figure is still named v3Milwoman, I know that name is not right but don't recollect the correct one off the top of my head, you should be able to convert clothes using WW or Xdresser.
Holds true for P5Judy. If you have morphed the body I belive WW can put the morphs into the new clothing or use MorphClothed to do it.
