I was so excited to hear Bondware had purchased Poser. I was hoping to see an abundance of great content to rival DAZ's own content. The truth is that DAZ's content over the years had made Poser desirable to me. Poser's owners over the years never appeared to be interested in making much content. Now it's been several months, and I still don't see any evidence that Poser will become more compelling for my needs. I am so sorry to finally realize this.

The DAZ content installer (DAZ Install Manager or DIM) actually does not use the Content folder at all. The original zip file has the Content folder, but DIM gets rid of it!

It doesn't make sense to use tutorials made for older versions of Poser or any other software. In my experience, it just never works.

I have mixed feelings about this news. I still recall, many years ago there was a great debate about authentication. People were concerned that legal owners might not retain their authorizations if Poser got a new owner. Renderosity addressed that problem right away! Congratulations! I am pleased to see how quickly so many recognized names have joined forces with Bondware (Renderosity) to work on Poser Pro 2011.

How long will the $99 upgrade price for Poser (v10) last? I'm on a limited income. I can't put together that kind of money quickly.

What are the eligibility requirements for the Poser 11.2 update. I have Poser 10. Am I able to get the Poser 11.2 update? What is the cost?!

I apologize. Apparently DAZ does some trickery. When the DAZ Install manager installs files, they delete the Content folder. I rarely install DAZ content manually. I never use a Content folder. Come to think of it, you could use DAZ's Install Manager (DIM). You just need to tell DIM where to put your stuff. Or you could just ignore my slight mistake.

DAZ hasn't used the "Content" folder for many years.

Poser has always been made more valuable when content creators like DAZ offered their content to go with Poser. DAZ moved to Genesis, and stopped offering "Poser content." No other content provider has filled the void. Poser doesn't need to "become" DAZ Studio. But we do need some fantastic Poser-native content.

Linux fans should just accept the fact that there won't be any Linux versions of Poser, Photoshop etc.

I bought Poser version 1 around 1996, I believe. It came on 3.5" floppy discs. I never learned it. Skip ahead to 1999 and Poser 4. I was hooked for awhile at least.

I'm in a holding pattern right now. I've recently reinstalled Poser 10 on my computer. Renderosity might just be the key to revitalizing Poser. My money is tight. I can't justify spending any more money until something dramatic happens to make that investment appear to be worthwhile. Even then, my money comes once a month. I'll hope for the best and take my chances.

PaulHairy, DAZ Auto Installer looks promising. I really appreciate a great utility that makes installing stuff so easy. Just a gentle hint: you left out the "S" in your link above. I was a bit disappointed to see the app was only for PC. But there are ways around that problem. I assume you'll list the price in US dollars here at Renderosity?! Best wishes.
