Well, first I read one post, and was ready to RUN to view to get my vue 4 and get it shipped overnight, NOW...but then I read Lynn's post..something about little seeds... so I guess it is indeed not done... and ready to ship, maybe not even on the 22nd... so here is my request to you all in the forum: TELL ME WHEN ONE OF YOU HERE IN THE USA HAS VUE 4 IN HAND... and then I will RUN to get it.... okay?? This is not good for my heart.. I am going to settle back to learning 3, and TRYING to be more patient! (and more accepting of the harsh realities of pricing in this world) Sara
Thread: that turbosquid place | Forum: Vue
Oh, well, I guess I got confused about file formats..I have only delt with obj's for Vue.... oh wait! Except for sam's fence.. which was 3ds!! Now where did I get the idea you had trouble importing!?!? oh well... maybe I WILL go back and try for some free buildings!! :)) Sorry for my mixup! Sara
Thread: A little bit more, about Vue 4 | Forum: Vue
Well....confusing... "The estimated shipping date of Vue 4 in North America is June 22, 2001." Estimated? Pre order? Is this by fax, or actual on line credit card? It is still upsetting, because my relative that bought Vue3 for me got it earlier this year, before any discount dates... so I would have to pay full price, which does not seem fair... :( Sara
Thread: newbie updated "Out Back" vue image | Forum: Vue
Hi... Comments all appreciated!! I did think about that horizon line on the left... but was so anxious to get this done..LOL! Rocks- well, I guess I like them..as they look very much like all the rocks where I live!! LOL...but look forward to any different rocks..models..etc!! Oh, well I bought the sheep/goats Ready Pose package, that has many obj models all ready to go, but I did see there was a goat/sheep poser package at Vista Internet Products too... Lyne's Creations seems to have both formats! I could also take the ones I bought right into bryce..but don't like Bryce right now, hee hee! WHERE, Laurie???? Free buildings??? I don't even know what a turbosquid is... url? Thanks! (guess there might be a version3 :) Sara
Thread: This is 'SERIOUS' | Forum: Vue
Hello All! Well I am here to post my updated Out Back image, but could not resist joining in here.. I took a look at one of the B5 iamges at that site....the trees are nice, but still looks like the terrain materials lack a lot... I am with Laurie..will wait and see what people say about it.. Re:photoshop vs photopaint.. I learned with photopaint, and still do all my web jpgs with it, it seems to compress differently.. but AFTER studying books and tutorials (for a long time) for photoshop, I would never use anything else for all my 2D needs.. I could not handle it's learning curve and multiple ways to use tools, let alone layers... till I had took the extra effort... OH, and as far as Corel..yes, it is the COMPANY... so I would want B5 to be not only recommened but patched as needed before I spend more money... Sara
Thread: should i put this in free stuff for vue | Forum: Vue
Oh, it is lovely, Dolly! I have not done any indoor things in vue yet (being so new to vue3) but I sure would like to find a place on a desk for your globe!! Sara
Thread: newbie vue site up! | Forum: Vue
Well, three times are a charm, right? GRIN! I have had trouble learning this posting thing too, and accidentally posted two messages before... there is a delete thing here somewhere.. but thanks for the encouragement, and suggestions! :) I got distracted by trying a moonlite ocean scene.. vue is so easy, it is FUN, in that it sort of builds it's own scenes for you... I mean, scenes just sort of happen! I feel like I am interacting with another person or something! It is hard to explain! Is that too weird?? Anyway, after I get the night scene done, (and buy another package from Lyne's Creations) I will re-do the Out Back picture! :)
Thread: newbie vue site up! | Forum: Vue
Oh, wow! I got the fence, will try...although I am trying to learn to BUILD things in vue, using vue... Like your tutorials show, Laurie...but ready-made is good too! I have Lyne's macaw... now, where is that credit card!?!? oh oh! (did you see Sam's horse things!?) Thanks all... I shall be back! :) Sara
Thread: New tress | Forum: Vue
Hi Laurie! So Vue will take a 2d image just like Bryce does? (have not got into trying that). I need to look for a photo of one..I can cut one out (a tedious prospect, with all those leaves, sigh) with my paint program... don't go to any bother... I was just observing that this popular tree in Australia and the western US is not in any tree program that I know of... and it is a neat tree.... so I thought I would put the word out...and see what information comes in! :) Thanks! Sara (sparkel)
Thread: New tress | Forum: Vue
Regarding the tresses on the trees.... grin! I do have a tree question...has anyone ever seen (or could make?? hint hint!) a eucalyptus tree?? (I had to look that up in my dictionary!)- eucalyptus (yk-lpts) n., pl. eucalyptuses or eucalypti (-t). Any of numerous tall trees of the genus Eucalyptus, native to Australia and having aromatic leaves that yield an oil used medicinally and wood valued as timber. I think this would be a great addition to the types of trees... never have seen one in tree druid, or onyx..or!? It is such a different kind of tree.. I am new to vue, but don't want to use anything else, ever again... now! :)
Thread: vue's great blending of ground and terrain materials | Forum: Vue
Yes! This is just what I mean, about the terrans and materials in bryce!! I wonder if they (Corel) are going to "fix" this...-probably not- and I am actually worried that Vue 4 will change this wonderful thing.. take it away... when they update the terrain editor and the way it handles materials! I saw the vue sneak peek...and the mountian there looks like the way materials are handled in bryce! worried I plan on waiting to see sample images of this very part of vue 4 before paying MORE money for a program I am already happy with... And thank you very much for your compliments! Now I have to live up to them, for my next effort! :)
Thread: A REAL "Vue Master" Speaks About The New Vue 4... | Forum: Vue
thanks Mike! :) Not sure I can follow what you said, but I will copy paste it out to study when I am "vueing"! :) Also, I am also going to delete my image/post from this thread and put it in it's own thread as it is not really the subject of this one... I really need to BUILD a vue web site, but I wanted to make a few more images first... then it will be nicer to post a url of an image instead of putting the image here...save space for the renderosity servers! :) (I tossed my OLD bryce web site..was not happy with it)

Thread: A REAL "Vue Master" Speaks About The New Vue 4... | Forum: Vue
Hello, I am new to Vue 3, while having Bryced ever since Bryce "came to PC". While there are a lot of things that (currently) Bryce 4 can do, that Vue cannot.... I am so thrilled with the "vegitation" in Vue 3 (HAD to splurge to get the vegitation bundle!)... and how when you assign the (for example) grass material to the ground plane and a mountain in vue- it will go up so naturally onto the mountain terrain!!!! I have found that in Bryce there still may be a separation between the ground material and the mountain material, even when it is the same... BUT now with the sneak peek at Vue 4's rather "bryce like" new terrain editor, I am wondering if it is going to have this same "fault" in it??? I am very comfortable with the bryce interface, as it is very visual...and I also have never been a mac user (mac converted programs have a lot of "right clicks"...like trueSpace where one HAS to right click all over to FIND tools.. ugh!) I also found that vue 3 has a super easy "jump in and do without reading the manual" interface! :) I am trying a vue image that will show what I mean about the ground and terrian materials meeting seamlessly....hope to show it here...
