I think you misunderstand, it's not the missing pointAtTarget line that is your problem, it's the missing geometry that you're pointing at. You need to have the geometry for the object that you are point at in your cr2 file for the point at dail to work when you load your cr2. This is not possible with the ground plane, because it doesn't have any geometry. Writing a pointAtTarget line won't work. You can yell at me now.
Thread: Point At Forgot What to Point At? | Forum: Poser Technical
Okay, I'm pretty much lost as to what your trying to do. Are you trying to save to a cr2 file? If you are I think I know what wrong. In order for Poser to remember what your pointing at it must be in the cr2. The only way that would happen is if you parented the point at target to the figure. Then your point at dail would have a line that says pointAtTarget and the name of the target. The problem is that the ground plane can't be parented. So the pointAtTarget line is blank, when Poser reads the cr2 file in it reads nothing so it points at nothing. In order for this to work, create a prop, point your dangles at it, and parent it to the body. With them parented to the body the prop will only move when the body moves and will not be effected by poses. Making a camera visable can be found on Syyd Ravens site. I hope this all make sence to you John

If you point them at the ground, they will point at the center point of the ground plane, not straight down. Place a prop at the ground plane's center point, point your dangles at the prop, and then drop the prop in the "Y" -40 or 50.
Thread: obj problems | Forum: Poser Technical
Poser doesn't use the obj file, it uses the rsr file. Poser uses the obj file to create the rsr file. Erase rsr file, go into Poser load the character file, close Poser, and go and write protect the rsr file Poser just created.
Thread: An example of a scaling pose PZ2 | Forum: Poser Technical
It wouldn't work. A pose will only on one on one character file at a time. On the other hand, if it were all in one character file it might work.

Thread: Storage Offset: Secret Numbers | Forum: Poser Technical
The Cr2 file look something like a C program, but there are a lot of things that you would find in a C program are missing. The line of text "storageOffset 0 0 0" look like a variable and its contents writen in a type of C programing called LISP. If my guesses are right then it's x y z. Meaning props are offset from their origin in the y direction .3487. If I right and .12 equals 1 scale foot, props should come in almost 3 feet above the ground plane, they don't. What I'll saying is that's awful large number for an offset. This is what I think it is: You can't write a program without bugs. Sometimes fixing a bug would mean rewriting a large section of the program and then other parts of the program might not work. So rather then do that, something commonly call a "work around" a patch is used. That's what I think that offset is. If you're asking if you have use that offset if you want to make your prop like DAZ does, I say yes. As far as the offset with the hiar file, I think that's in there to make sure the hair end up in the right place. I don't think the user was ever suppose to mess around with cr2 file.

There was a character I was working on with lalverson called VE-1 (I called it Eva) It was to combine the body of Eve with the head of Vicki. I wrote the cr2 file using Eve and then redirected it to pick up the head and eyes from Vicki. This worked find except for the fact that Vicki is taller than Eve so there was a gap between Vicki's head and Eve's neck. This is where storage offset comes in. I loaded both Vicki and Eve into Poser. I hid Eve's head and eyes and all of Vicki's body. Then with Vicki's body selected I moved Vicki head as close as I could to Eve's neck. I did this by typing in very small number changes. When I was happy with the position of Vicki's head I wrote down the x, y, and z numbers, and that what I used as the storage offset. When I loaded the character the head came in prefectly. { version { number 4.01 } figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:P4NudeWoman:EveV4.obj actor BODY:1 { } actor hip:1 { storageOffset 0 0 0 geomHandlerGeom 13 hip } actor abdomen:1 { storageOffset 0 0 0 geomHandlerGeom 13 abdomen } actor chest:1 { storageOffset 0 0 0 geomHandlerGeom 13 chest } actor neck:1 actor lToe:1 { storageOffset 0 0 0 geomHandlerGeom 13 lToe } figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:P4NudeWoman:EveV4.obj figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:ZygotePeople:blMilWom.obj actor head:1 { storageOffset 0.0005 -0.01575 0.0055375 geomHandlerGeom 13 head } actor leftEye:1 { storageOffset 0.0005 -0.01575 0.0055375 geomHandlerGeom 13 leftEye } actor rightEye:1 { storageOffset 0.0005 -0.01575 0.0055375 geomHandlerGeom 13 rightEye } figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:ZygotePeople:blMilWom.obj

If you're talking about Autocad. Select all, expload, then go to File, export, 3ds. A dialog box will come up, make sure the weld check box is check, and it should come out as one piece

Thread: CR2 Editing Tip: Embedding New Morphs inside Pose Files | Forum: Poser Technical
As far as I can tell there is no reason why the Poser program can't add dials automaticlly via a menu. You do that now manually. The problem is that it would have to done in the Poser program., and the only ones that can change that are at CL. When you edit the data file (obj file) or a string file like the cr2 file you do it outside the program, but adding a dial is done when you're in the program. Writing a C or VB program won't work.

Just a guess, but I'd say the joint center between the foot and toes, doesn't match vickis'. Unless the foot on your boot is flat, I don't how you can fix that.
