Thread: codecs for an animation | Forum: Animation
2nd that on doing uncompressed in Max. If for some reason you can't, I commonly use indeo 5.1 with NO compression, which still gives a good 50% reduction in size. As to the final product, unless you know EXACTLY what equipment it'll be showing on, I would suggest you do 2 versions on the same CD: 1 version for PC users, probably in MPG-1 format, and another for the other guys, in a quicktime .mov format. For my personal stuff, i have a lot of faith in wme / asf format; compression almost as good as DivX, and pretty much anyone with IE4 or better can see them.

Nice work on the site. I've done some similar things for prospective clients; you really have quite a few options available. My personal preference is to make a VCD; blanks are cheap enough that you can whip up a few extra's to hand out, and they play on about 99% of DVD players, or DVD capable computers. probably the easiest way for a relative novice to create one would be to do up a powerpoint presentation, and export it as a video, then put the video on the VCD; ezcd creator will make a nice one, if you don't want to get too in depth. Another good option would be to just put the powerpoint presentation on a CD, along with the presentation presenter software. Probably the best option would be to get a video editing software package, so you can mix sound, do image transitions, etc. then either just do the VCD thing or put it as a file on a CD. Tell you what, if you want help with this, send me an e-mail. money or credit would be nice. webmaster@changestorm.comThread: Trip or stumble BVH? | Forum: Animation

pull it, and send a registered letter to viewpoint.
Give viewpoint a reasonable period of time to respond, like 2 weeks.
If they have not responded, allow Dudly to post it back, with the notice that it's a modified viewpoint model, and is for non-commercial use only.
Thread: Can I set up a NETWORK RENDER for POSER$????? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This worked for me; I only did it as a test, used 1 license on all machines involved, only once, I swear... Made my animation set up. saved it. deleted all but the 1st 1/3rd of the frames, saved it as p1.pzz. opened the original file, deleted all but the 2nd third of the frames, saved it as p2.pzz. same for the 3rd third... opened p1 on main machine, started rendering. opened p2 on another machine, started rendering. opened p3 on a third machine, started rendering. Used ABC videoroll to stitch together the segments. I actually started writing an app to do this automatically, with routines to figure the optimal cut-off points based on machine capabilities, and auto-stitching, but realized the licensing problems would be a bitch. But, it cuts render time down to 33% of original. But, if you can keep your poser figures opaque enough, and there aren't too many remapping issues, 3dstudio max does a much better job.
Thread: where can i get a copy of Dance Studio? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
best address is real@changestorm.com; 2nd best is paganized@lycos.com do you use it? does it do a decent job of putting together bvh's?
Thread: where can i get a copy of Dance Studio? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No copies of Dance Studio on Amazon or half.com. If anyone here would like to sell a english language copy, please let me know. But i'd be happy with the demo, to see if its useful.

I've got the bvh's from poser disc 2, i've made quite a few animations for them. If the little bit i can read about it is right, you can do a pretty decent original bvh for much less than the cost of life forms or whatever other tools there are. BUT. I can't handle e-bay. been ripped off 3 of the 4 times I tried it. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me, fool me three times, I'm obviously a masochist....." Maybe if there was a copy on half.com or amazon auctions. hmm. will check again. but if ANYBODY comes across the demo, let me know, ok?
Thread: Poser distributed rendering.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Batchgen is pretty cool, but...... How about it, folks? Create your full scene, complete with all the animations, save it to a PZ3. run a utility, tell it how many machines you have available with poser, it goes in the PZ3 file, creates new PZ3 files that have split the animation frames up among the specified computers, starts 'em up, renders the animation sequence, then takes the resulting AVI file segments and joins them together. I can see a pretty simple way to do it, but I'm wayyyyyyy to lazy. and only have 1 poser license.

Get poserloader, from freestuff. It is really awsome.... Just unzip all your stuff into one folder, and run poserloader, follow the prompts. For some reason, it just suddenly stopped working for me, which bothers the heck out of me...but it worked about 500 times before that, flawlessly.

Hmm. I thought I put enough help in the script? the file you upload is at http://www.vrpro.net/uploads/dir/Scales.zip or should be, at least. Anthing you upload will be http://www.vrpro.net/uploads/dir/I set it so that if you upload a file that is already present, it'll just put an increment on it, like scales2.zip; the script should report that to you.
