um it sems that you have the slice layer view on perhaps when you hide the slices you will have a complete grey... with no un-wanted cast... also have a look at the proof coulour set up you have... you may have photo shop viewing the greay space in cmyk or something heav a look at the proof set up... perhaps. not dure what you mean by swatch but normally the colour you pick to be your forground will become your foreground...

um use the "eye drop"er tool and open the info pallet... it's the same colour... just like every one elce has said for some reason or an aother some interferance is is causinf the colour the appear diferent.. monitors are the worst method for colour Proofing... IMHO now if you have a waranty on the monitor, cash it in, or paint by numbers with the info on : D looks can be decieving. karo.

I do coulour correction by the numbers in the info pallete adn use the multiple referance point eye dropper tool to find the right level I can definly say with this method you will not only see the cast in the picture but also when adjusting curves and levels having the info pallet in view as you change the gamut of the image. detail in the shadow end is not notice able enogh to draw the eye away from this large higlight you may want to increase the level of the mid-tones to make this highlight less obvious. when I get home I can actually do it .. so wait and see... I hope you are pleased with the result... I will be using a mac to do it.. but if you have a good monitor on your PC and a good callibration techinques .. hopefully what I do to the image is satisfactory... I will not use auto curves and use a large History brush @ 50% it's far to easy.... LOL but I will show the result : D BRB

We all know Win 98, and 2000 and XP are not machines threy are OS (that run on dos... and IE). perhaps when I can all use this os without a manual by my side I can actaully get some work done. As for me and my Mac we're just going to keep on truck'n. goes back under rock
