Sadly i didnt use gif, elfwood converted it from jpg which i always upload in....... no clue why. I'll try in a day or two to reload it, maybe compress it more to fit their genre and it should be better
Thread: My Thunder Stolen - | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
FYI, On elfwood I had deleted out the most severe, three different comments (not the ones i did accidentally) that were pretty scathing.  Considering my young daughters and their friends regularly check out my stuff there, I couldn't leave them up (and they wouldn't have stayed up with the moderators anyway).
Basically, I realize the error (dare i say stupidity?) of my thought process.... and in general i've been cocooned in the lovely lake that is renderosity, that I really hadn't been privy or exposed to the negativity towards poser. At least, not towards me persea.
I always like critique, but when it comes to the method, not the image..... and picking that method apart........ it did for a moment make me faulter.
Eh, I'm over it, and I appreciate the words of wisdom to shake me out of the stoopid pool.

Thanks so much for the comments, I do realize I had a moment of, what the heck? Probably because I always post my images here, in the renderosity gallery, where 3d and obviously poser is embraced........ whoops lol. Â
And I love what I do, nuff said.

You know, you're right.  Just got blindsided, thanks for the perspective.
I shouldn't care what someone thinks, I should care what I think, though it is at times hurtful........ and unnessesary to get slammed.
Thread: Poser 6 - Runtime 4 problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
ahhh......... thanks for the help guys, found the culprit. Though i did everything obvious, I hadn't run a scan disk in eons (used to 98 not xp, scandisk isnt obvious anymore)  After it running for two and a half hours and fixing errors, all works good!
Thread: Poser 6 - Runtime 4 problem | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
P4's runtime is still in the same place, and p4 is still on my comp exactly where it was. None of the files have been moved, so I can't figure out whats the slow down.
Thread: is Poser the red headed step child of 3D? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This I have to respond to, as I get a lot of derogatory poser comments on an elfwood site that I have.
First, though i couldnt see your art due to the filter, the responses were just, uncalled for. The use of explatives shows this person reeeeeally needs some anger management courses.
What i see happening, and sadly its true, is poser is affordable. There are some that get their hands on it, and crank out "paintings" in less than an hour using ye ol' figure/conform to utility, poses out of free stuff, Koz hair, and so on and so fourth.
Now I think we ALL started like this, sadly new users however, the field and items are just OLD. Been there done that....... you know what I mean. In renderosity galleries, from what I've seen new artists to poser well, we're kind, supportive and totally GET IT, you start where you start, until you learn and do more.
Its the ones that use it, and never improve (I actually know someone who's used poser for three years and........ uses the same Koz hair on EVERY picture, the same skin textures, and has not after three years moved out of using poser's default lighting). They use others figures, free or no, pop them out, and then sign it and classify it as an "original" peice of art.
Technically it is, however, ...... for those who spend several weeks or months in man hours inking a drawing or oil painting, .... even some who use poser as a base and spend weeks in hand painting details, clothes, hair and backgrounds, it can get rather disturbing.
Now I claim in my elfwood site right off the bat i use Poser and Bryce.......... heaven forbid! And I get slammed for it most of the time, "well i hate poser, but for a poser render its nice".
Actually the term render, I find myself getting offensive about. 80 percent of some of my images I painted, they didn't "pop" out that way.
Worse tho? Do a travel around those sites, even deviant art, elfwood, so on so fourth, take a good look.  A poser user knows a poser figure no matter HOW GOOD the artist behind it is. No matter how you mask it, no matter how you postwork it, its still a poser base......... yet they claim its not. Those are the ones that really irk me, as if they'd just say, "yes i use poser", maybe people would STOP assuming poser is this "pop it in and render art in an instant" machine. There is credibility in poser.
Thread: wow, gallery - boobs galore | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'll throw my two cents in, and probably won't get liked very much for it I'm sure.
But, what the hey.  I realize, the majority of renders and images that are flocked to, posted on like mad and get the most views, are that of naked women. I have men and women in my gallery, and to see what the effect would be, did a fully nude male, instead of a woman.  Not very much reaction, i assure you
if i place a breast or hint of one in the thumbnail, whooboy, its viewed like magic.
This tells me the obvious that we as the human race have known for centuries. A naked woman draws attention. Nothing new here.
I am definately not opposed to the naked female (or male) form in artwork, far from it, i think its lovely. However, even one open as myself to flesh in artform, can get very ...... uh, tired, of the same old thing. I think the point is, its not the naked woman thats the isuse, its the form and format. Its sorta like looking at photo's of pamela anderson all day, and after the 100th shot of her thinking, gee, i'd rather see some tyra banks.  It just gets old, and looses the effect after a while. Not repulsive, just "bored" with it.
In the poser gallery, i tend to totally overlook and forgive the usual naked woman.  Usually new poser users, fascinated, but who cant paint clothes. THerefore, their renders are naked. Heck, i did the same thing at first until i got the handle of painting and using poser.
I just suppose as a woman, at some point, i stop even looking at artwork containing the a-typical fantasy female.  When you know how a woman's anatomy really is, and its natural flaws, the absolute often pornographic presentation of a woman in the fantasy genre, seems cartoonish, and a slight mockery of the female body. Granted, thats how it is with me, I cannot speak for others.
I got complaints of painting a big breasted woman in oils quite a while back, because on the sides of her overlylarge breasts, i painted the realism........ stretchmarks in the skin. It is pretty sad, when the realism of a woman's body is shunned.

Thread: Hi, I'm a PSP and Poser veteran but totally new to PS | Forum: Photoshop
Hi! I paruse this forum more than post. I too was a poser/psp user. At first, I found PS daunting, but after six months, I took PSP completely off my system..... there's just no going back! Do not be afraid to go down that new road! You'll never go back!
Thread: Kinda OT: Nekkid Chicks | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The idea we aren't "trained" to look at naked men is rediculous. We look at whats in front of us, and if there are no naked men, guess what? I do nudes sultry and whatnot of men AND women, though I will get the casual complaint. The only "eh" I have to poserified nudity is the standard vic with the triple E boob job.... for no particular reason other than "gee, I can create big ones!" LOL. Even so, I don't complain about those. People have a right to do what they want, and if I don't like it, I just dont look...... Though I'd like to see more men thanks!
Thread: Poser in Advertising: You can tell by the bad arm of V3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
V3's arms can be fixed if you have the morph pack. Everyone will get different results of course, but it does work. (noting the Koz hair giveaway and smirks) In the morphs, add to V3 Tone and muscle. Select each section of the arm upper, lower (and dont forget the shoulder! LOL). Play with it til it builds up the arm, when it looks normal, just add like .3 to scale, looks WAY better.
Thread: Newbie Q: Hair to post or not to post? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I havent had much luck, sadly with dynamic hair in P6. Its still sort of greek to me, and no matter how much i put on, it comes out looking like whimpy from popeye. Though many freebies of hair (koz especially) are really really good.... One gets tired of seeing the same hair on 75 different pictures, IMHO. Its good to start with, but if you want something different, postwork is the way to go, handpainted hair.
Thread: An Open Message To Clothing Modellers | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Many clothes have the shown nipple "thing". I just put my renders into Photoshop and use the "smudge" tool sparingly with light pressure to smooth em out. Works like a charm, takes seconds
