Hdrider, If you use this tex/overlay as is on Vicky, you'll see that all the colors match up. I only did the outside verticies, because these are the ones that will abut. What I think might be throwing you is that the "back" of the head is a lot smaller than the "front". Your best bet is to enlarge the "back" portion in a new document to the same size as the front. do all your textures on that, Then copy, paste onto the origional texture and reduce it to fit the smaller version. The "body" map is easier because the 2 halves of each part are the same size. NOTE: The best thing to do, is where the colors meet, is to make those corrosponding pieces the exact same color. And blend inward. I may not really be clear on what problem you're having. James

Thread: Color in shadows? (Carrara) | Forum: Carrara
Well I came up with a longer render solution. I hope the next upgrade will fix this little problem. Thanks all BTW, for your input. James

I agree that they are HUGE looking for some reason. I have had to use a magnet to pull them back a bit and size them down in a couple of my renders. James
Thread: Happy Memorial Day | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
blau, I am well aware of the meaning of the day. My father was in 2 wars. If you feel so bitter about a little humor, then you should have e-mailed me directly. I would have gladly removed this picture if it really offended you. I too feel remorsful that this and other rememberance days are so lightly taken. A lot of my friends are veterns. And yes we do appriecieate the sulleness and importance of these days. But also after the sadness a bit of humor is never scorned. As for name calling. You might have tried a different and more mature approch. You only hurt yourself doing such things. James

Thread: Bad texture mapping for Vicky's bikini | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Been there done that. I had the exact problem, and thank god I also saved the original bikini installer. Thanks for pointing this out to the group, I was going to, but you beat me to the punch. I'm hoping in the Clothing pack update (Zygote says maybe tuesday) This will be remedied James
Thread: Where? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd love to argue this point till we all cry. But I won't. If your having trouble installing stuffit for the PC, it's not a MAC problem. I have installed many versions of stuffit expander on many different PCs (from an old 486 to a 350 mhz pentieum) and have never had a problem. Just try a clean install, or maybe even try downloading it again and then re-installing. I have also known the wonderful people here to rally together and send someone a converted (zip) when all hope was lost. James (Yes a MAC person) It's not the computer, it's what you get out of it that matters. So get over the PC war and back to the commonality that is the Poser Forum.
Thread: Attn: JeffH, you might be able to answer this. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sounds like a problem with a morie pattern. THe mag is printed with dots. And when your scanner trys to scan the dots, it creates various patterns. As Allie said, check your scanner software, and see if there is a "De-Screen" option. If there is this will try to compensate for the dots and smooth things out. Different scanning resolutions will also help. Try scanning at 150 dpi instead of 300 dpi, or 200 dpi. Hope this helps. James

I don't know that you can give this away. I supose not though. But on a second note. Just doubling the verticies/polygons is really not the way to go. You need to selectivly increase the count. When you increse the poly count, yes indeed the morphs are smoother. But you really up the file size to a point that may not be nessassary. Look at Victoria and the P4 Woman. You'll see that in a lot of places the poly count is the same. Also the increase of polygons is relitive to the detail on the face, such as brow furrows, crows feet, lips and such. More polys just where needed. James
Thread: Can we really expect quality from Zygote??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Again, I think that Zygote got rushed to produce something in the way of clothes for Vicky. Bound to be a few small problems. I'm just extreamly pleased that each time, they have sprung to arms and have fixed everything they could. You can't blame them if your POSER patch fails to install, or even if the Patch works. Remember these people have given us so much at good prices. And have listened to everything we have said. They could have easily just ignored us like other companies have done. James
Thread: Vicky Clothing Pak 1 - Missing Transmap textures | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The Vicky Clothing pack does not come with Textures and maps, the other file you downloaded was just the templates files. Though the clothes themselves are grouped in such a way you can include/exclude many parts. James
Thread: Cherry Pie a la mode Posted! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Geekholder, This is Zygote's UV mapping, so nothing else is needed. Just don't turn the pie around. The back does a texture smear. (That's why I did a new mapping) The scoop of Ice Cream is a separrate obj. And anyway the other one I did, the geometry is changed so no matter what I do I'd have to send a NEW obj file. SO I just gave up on it. This one can be used by anyone who got the freebie. James
Thread: Peice of the pie? How can I.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks people, Unfortunatly, It is more involved than just a quick UV map. I REMOVED the fork and napkin. So now the original obj file is quite different. and the new geometry is contained in the CR2. I guess the best way is to do it all over again with the original obj file untouched. Just hoped that there was a different solution. James PS: What flavor Ice cream? heheheh.
