OK, I stand corrected on what I understood "nudity" to mean, but I'm not sure quite how me being cautious on that subject "negates them completely"......
As for the character "simply holding a sword", she has clearly inflicted an injury on herself and drawn blood which is in fact visible in the image. Here's a cut and paste from the TOS:

I run Photoshop and Paintshop Pro; the former for it's sheer power and the latter for it's speed and simplicity. I mentioned this on a photographic gallery when I posted some work a few years back. I got the most unbelievable, unsolicited email from some trainspotter* DEMANDING to know why I dared to use both programmes........
Watch out Silverblade, Photoshop addiction has no known cure, and you will risk everything for just one last plug-in download......:)

Thread: Poser7-How to create a real water? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I used Stu Runham's tutorial thus:

The tutorial is here:
http://www.stu-runham.co.uk/water.htm
Seems to work fine. The ultimate secret to rendering water in Poser (IMHO) is to have a sky reflected in the water, otherwise it just looks like a puddle of mercury in a studio!

I get a bit scared sometimes thinking "if I post this full size I'll get ripped off by an unscrupulous downloader and miss out on the chance of becoming a famous cover artist......". Hasn't happened yet (the ripping off OR the famous artist bit....!)

Thread: Pose a character to background help needed | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Have a look at this picture of mine:

The green "Matrix"-style text in the foreground is a real 3d object, rendered in the scene by Poser. As you can see, it contains opaque areas, transparent areas, bits in between the two and also casts shadows. It is in fact very easy to do. In your favourite art programme, create your text in whatever colour you like (in this case, bright green)., call this your "texture" image. Then make an otherwise identical version where the text is white on a black background, call this an "alpha" image if you like; in the render, it will make your texture image transparent where the alpha is black, and solid where it is white, and will vary the transparency (as can be seen in the sample image) where the alpha image is grey.
In Poser, create a flat square primitive, apply your "texture" image as the er, texture, and set your "alpha" image as the transparency map (Another way to do it would be to use the "alpha" channnel to cut through a solid colour/texture). Press render and away you go - a text object.

Thread: Best computer for Poser 7 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Having been ripped off too many times by a certain large PC dealer here in the UK when buying a desktop system, I decided to build my own system last November when my two year old Packard Bell system died, proving to be all but impossible to upgrade without replacing almost every component.
I then recently decided that I needed to up-gun this first home-built system, to run Poser and Vue specifically. Having built one PC already, it meant that I had a decent graphics card (ATI 1950 Pro 512Mb) which could handle the OpenGL requirements, a Thermaltake case and Lightscribe DVD ROM. I ended up with:
Thermaltake 500W power supply (£10 from Ebay (new))
ASUS P5Q Pro p45 motherboard (£82) Express
Zalman CPU Cooler (£15 from Ebay (new))
8Gb Geil Black Dragon DDR2 Ram (£120)
Intel Q6600 CPU (£102 from Ebay (new))
1* 500Gb Maxtor HDD for data storage (£45)
1* 250 Gb Maxtor HDD for system install (£25)
Vista 64 bit Ultimate Home Edition (£55)
The components are all top-quality and the system is fully upragedable, neither of which would be the case with a ready-made system. Plus, I now know exactly what makes my PC tick......I thoroughly recommend a DIY approach. Using the P5Q with it's 8 SATA slots also means I can re-use all my old IDE (3 of 'em!)drives with SATA adaptors as data drives. So, for about £500 ($1000) plus a few bits I already had, I've ended up with an 8Gb (expandable to 16Gb) dream machine which took me about four hours to put together. I have to say, if I can do it, anyone can, it really is simple. Plus, I have a PC that hasn't arrived full of crap "free" software.....

Thread: Render with Transparent Sky | Forum: Vue
I'd like to know how to do this too.
One work-around is to use the alpha image which is rendered at the same time as the full render, to produce a mask in Photoshop/Paintshop Pro into which you can put your custom sky.
If there is a way of getting Vue to do what you ask (like Poser does) it would be a lot easier.

Thanks for this guys - the preview mode seems to be the way to do it. Esprit does the main render, alpha and Z masks all at once too.

I'm really pleased with the sky - reminds me of a Maxwell Parrish painting or a 1930s British Railway poster.
Chipp - I searched and searched, but couldn't find a film rebate (so that's the proper name!) that looked how I wanted it to, so I ended up painting it by hand in Photoshop, for a different picture entirely. It seemed to go too well with this picture for me not to re-use it.
Thanks for all the feedback and general welcome.

Thread: Hopeless Newcomer Needs Help! | Forum: Vue
Thanks for all the tips folks!
It's getting weirder, but that very weirdness might be suggesting where the problem lies. I imported a simple Poser prop, played with it, noticed how sluggishly Vue seemed to be operating, thought no more of it. Launched Poser 7 a while later - it too had almost seized up, with horrendous lag between every action. Went online to find this was indeed a GFX card driver issue
http://www.contentparadise.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8235
....sorted that out and Vue has been much more stable, though not entirle crash-free. I'm going to bring my old PC to life, with an integrated GFX chip on the motherboard and just use that for Vue. Not an ideal solution, but it should work - I've deliberatley tried to crash it on my wife's laptop and it's rock-solid.

Thread: Hopeless Newcomer Needs Help! | Forum: Vue
Thanks for looikng in guys. The system is pretty new; CHKDSK found a single error and repaired it, but it seemd unrelated to Vue, which crashed again afterwards anyway.....I tried launching some other apps following a crash, and couldn't get ZBrush or Truespace to run, but Bryce would......it's got me beat. It seems all my graphics programmes except Bryce get disabled by a crash in Vue. I've got enough spare bits lying around from when I built my current PC to make another just for Vue, which is what I'm going to do!
As regards the 2Gb memory limit - I've just rendered a scene with in excess of 2 billion polygons, according to Vue, with no problems, nor do I anticipate any in that area. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't get any more memory on my board and XP would have to be fiddled with to get it to read 3Gb anyway.
