Wow! Not what I expected :) Really good pic. I think he would be a calender man of Samurai Weekly. :) Three things - if there are lights on both sides of the hallway? road? try putting a darker blue kicker light to his front and right (our left) that should add some definition to his hand, which is dissapearing. Also the upper blade might look better if turned slightly so it is not edge on to the viewer. Its hard to view it as a sword at first. And lastly, I hope after all he's been through he should have at least some blood on his blade. Keep up the good work :)

Has anyone got a good harley? Doesn't have to be poser ready - bryce is fine. I'm working on an August 'calender' guy myself. The bike wouldn't be given away with him, just used for phtoshoot :) He'll be distributable. And blonde. :)

Oops - my bad. Forgot the publisher changed the name when it hit print. I read a draft version. Yes - that is Grunts. :) Now that I look again, the chainmail doesn't look quite right. On the closeup the rings are a little too big, and the black area shiould be dark grey, as there are more rings crossing there. The most common weave for chainmail is for every ring to have four rings connecting it. So some are horizontal, and are connected by 4 vertical to the rings around it. The smaller the rings, the less holes, the better protection. A bump map would work wonders.

I always thought Orcs had bigger ears. And were darker - these guys look really pale. :) Northern tribe? For a totally surreal (and gross) reading experience, try "Orc Marines" by Mary Gentle. very very strange. VERY VERY strange. :)

My only problem is that poser skintones often end up washed out and gray looking. I've found that resetting to plain white and appling the texture by hand in the mat editor is the only way to get them to look good. Anyone have a less tedious workaround? not to mention the fiddly work of putting trans and bump maps back in. :) Although I've found that useing one of the grays (in the simple materials) with colored specularity as a base + textures does nice things.

Well I avoid Dragonship Haven since one of those dratted longships nearly ran me down a few years ago :) But If I wander by there I'll say "Hoi"! I'm not sure who's reigning this year. But Isabella of York is either Queen or Princess. And her costumes (late period) are totally fabboo. And she's my sister's laurel. So I can maybe work something out. :) I was planning to get some photos of the Enchanted Ground - from the outside. Since they go totally period for the duration.

Hey guys, I'm going to a week long medeival/rennaisance reenactment starting next week. Any photo requests? Info needed? Need pictures of pavilions? accurate (we think) medeival campsite? Armour? Actual battles? (padded bamboo weapons) Medeival house? I'm not kidding. Wattle and daub - the works. I'm taking photos for myself to use, but don't mind snapping some things for other people. :)

Although I prefer to think of myself as well padded - and I am not in the class of those two ladies - I also objected to the name of the files. BUT - he made/distributed them that's his right to name them whatever he likes. I renamed them as Bertha(BFMW) and Wyma(BFM). Hmmmph. I have people to insult me every day - I don't need my computer to make me feel bad too. And it's good that you guys jumped on the geometry thing. As soon as replacements are around, I'll swap'm for the new files. BTW any clothes/morphs for clothes yet?

I agree with that - girls are nice but I like boys too :) and next to Nene the dork looks really bad. I have some p4man photo textures in the work - willing to send them to anyone doing character type work for freestuff. Latin lover anyone? Beach boy blonde? New York punk? Gimme a holler and we can work something out. The textures will get posted separately :) am also working on fantasy shirt textures, and medeival pants textures.

Well , you do whatever you feel like doing inside the shapes. That means - use bitmap fills, use clipart, use a photo ... do what works A combo of both can be really great - like taking a 'velvet' photo texture, applying as a fullcolor bitmap fill, and then putting vector edging on. Easy lace - fast embroidery .. good jewels. Easy transmaps. :) Also, if you have CDraw 8 or up you can change the shape into a bitmap object inside Corel and apply your photoshop filters to it - which include Kai's and Alien Skin. :) The possibilities are endless. I came up with the technique, because I am making a series of fantasy shirts/tunics and wanted embroidered edging. Since I have huge collection of vector borders, I wanted to use some of those. I've never asked Rena what she uses - I could tell at least Photopaint because some of the leaves on her page come from an image hose. :)

From what I understand Rena uses Corel Photopaint - like Photoshop but weirder. :) (yes I use both) There's a coupla textures out there that I'm sure were made on a vector program. Somebody has a black and a wine panty set that looks too clean to be photoshop. Go ahead and ask me any queations you come up with Bloodsong - I want to make sure I didn't leave out something obvious. :)

Ooooh. How'd I miss this thread before? I'd love to see this guy with one of my horse color variations on him :) The tail is traditionally described as being "like unto a lion" I think going for the arabian "pint pot" muzzle would give more delicacy and grace. Umm .. the photographer had a french-ish name, did some calenders and coffeetable books in the late 80s-early 90s. Some scans were posted in either alt.binaries.dragons or alt.binaries.pictures.animal a few months ago. Was basically horse with horn - but did great lighting and action shots. Keep up the work!

Kennef Well the Morphworld list has been talking about regional and ethnic facial types - so keep an eye on morphs at MorphWorld. I'll start collecting source material but it may be a while. Bloodsong No problem :) I have over 300 megs of animal photos, so It just means sorting through and doing a lot of clone-brushing in photoshop. :) UVmapper and I don't seem to agree on certain things. Every time I try to use it on my system it either bombs, or messes up the obj.
Thread: Taking Texture requests | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Kennef Do you have a specific regional type in mind? they vary widely by area. Source material would be good. Ummm. Native american clothing would be good too. I'll tack that on the list. I think you'll need morphs as well as a texture to get the look you want.
Thread: Taking Texture requests | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Umm. Maybe small misunderstanding here - I'll only be making textures and transmaps. Still haven't got the hang of the clothing making thing. So I'll just follow around after and make textures. I tend to think that's the fun part anyway:) Next time wehn I post texture for a nonstandard model I'll put a URL in a readme file. Had a little trouble with the wizards robe set :) I was just sick and tired of all these grey wizards:)
