Odiemanc, Your sphere was probably a primitive sphere so you cant really edit the vertices unless you convert the sphere primitive to a mesh. You do this in the "model room"(double click sphere to enter model room). Under the "edit" menue select "convert to other modeller" ,then select vertex modeller, then "Okay". You should now see all the vertices of the sphere. Try inserting a vertex object instead and then "insert" a sphere. Good luck. Mike

Keith, You probably know you can get cross sections into the VM via the Spline modeller fairly quickly by using the "convert to other modeller" after importing the cross sections into the spline modeller. Mike
Thread: do I want c2 ? | Forum: Carrara
Brent , I dont know if you are aware of this. When building your model in the Vm , the areas that you want to texture differently make sure you detach the polygon, copy, delete original polygon then paste from clipboard. (or Keith's approach). After you have created your mesh this way , then in the assemble room , use "split object" then texture the separate pieces. Mike

Chuckerii , I forgot to say you have to create these planes and positions them appropriatly around the item you want to model. Any questions let me know. Mike

chuckerii, This is not a feature of Carrara, but there is a workaround.Map your pictures to the appropriate planes in the assembly room. Go to the vm modelling room then click on the scene preview window, then click the texture preview icon.(one of the round ball icons) You should now see your mapped image all the time in the scene preview window . Hope this helps. Regards Mike Moir

Janho, There is a workaround . Try inserting the appropriate bitmaps on several panels (Right, front top etc. )Place them around your model . In the modelling room click on the scene preview window, then select the "texture" rendering icon(one of those ball icons. )You should now be able to see the Texture map all the time while you are modelling. Also make the scene preview window as large as you can. Cycling through the scene preview Right, left elevations using the "k" helps in modelling. Also click on the scene preview window, then press 1,2,3or 4 to get the all the sides at once. Hope this helps . Regards Mike Moir
Thread: still testing Carrara | Forum: Carrara
You can drag the sides to resize the shader preview window to whatever size you like , and for reference with other object in the scene the scene preview window should help with this.I find Carrara 1.1 more stable than RDS 5.5 for applying the paint shapes. Learning how to numerically position the paint shapes helps. I miss the brush tool of RDS though. Regards

This is the debugged version of carrara that Antoine is talking about.Antoine posted to the egroups list that he would release a debugged version of carrara (for free to registered Carrara users) before the Carrara V 2 comes out. This is just a rebranded , bug fixed version of Carrara. So a patch should be on their website soon. Regards Mike Moir
