I quick fix is to go down one side of the body limb element by limb element and take the X scale and the Z scale down, then "symetry" it to the other side of the body. I find they can go down to 85% sometimes without the "bending" screwing up. You can also use the P4 Hero Morph dial set negative a bit to smooth the muscle defintion and trim further but you really nead the body smoothing morph sets from Traveler's Morph World 2. Symetry wont't move the morphs over so you have to just add them to each limb individually. Make sure to save your characters so you don't have to do all this over again in the future. In P4 you can slim the face with negative "round Face" or negative "square face". I have gotten positive feed back on the old woman and old man for download at my site, I don't know if you will care for them but the URL is http://pages.hotbot.com/arts/momodot/

The "sun" is real sun-like, very visceral feeling. To be critical now, the yellow gun beams look too solid for me... how bout a somewhat transparent tube (a stretched torus?) and apply the glow to that? Something more glassy. I particularly like the light of the "running lights" on the "wing" surfaces etc and the plastic gleam of the gun housings. But you have Poser... where is the figure head? That is what those ladies at the prows of ships is called right?. Thanks for showing :)

Yeah, I was talking Photoshop... shoulda said that. For some reason Painter 3D chokes on my CPU even though Poser and Photshop run fine, so I avoid Painter 3D when I can despite the cool tools. Also, I somehow have never felt that the "Add Water" tool truly is the counterpart of the Photshop Smudge tool even though I use Painter 5 (2D) alot. As for when I use Painter 3D, only difference from what Anton says is I grab the figure straight from Poser/Runtimes/Geometries and then when I click on an element and get the map dialog I load one from Poser/Runtimes/Textures then do "Orientation>Flip>Vertical" and then paint (flipping again on the way out). I try to remeber to save the map under a new name first thing before starting to paint... but painting on to that default map really helps me personally though I do Adjust Colors to desaturate the over-saturated default texture.

In redesigning JarJar: when I was a kid it always bugged me that the naked aliens had no external genitals, maybe you can fix this :) Phil is straight on this, you are doing good work. Can't wait to see more. Since you seem good with the charecter there, anyway you would tackle the fat man fat woman issue? There is a thread on the fat suit around here. I wish Zygote had made their "heavies" on P4 Mesh :( All I can do is try importing to Amorphium per Traveler and see what iI can do when I get a chance. Well, thanks for sharing, i mean that, I like that you are up to different sorts of things. And do you have a website?? momo

Wow. Excelent. It does apear the original model is absolutly no more than five two at the very tallest. On the woman: To do such refined nuance you will have to resort to magnets, make a zone on each lower thigh where the quad leads to the knee and Yscale down. Make a wide mag zone that is shoulder breadth but doesn't hit the neck or beggining of the breasts and Yscale down again. Most of all, Scale the head up 10 or 12 percent! Finally, anti-hero the calves and Zscale them up. Sorry to be so teacherly but I actually work full time as a figure drawing instructor. Allerleirauh is right that you must scale up the pelvis, the model has much greater distance from hip joint to top of hip cradle. The feet in the photo most be lens distortion I think, but as I always tell student who ask for cononical proportions, human variation goes from Chiuauau to Great Dane in every concievable variation.

I think th CD must be the 30 the demoware they offer at thier site. They sell the program direct for nearly $400. But does anyone know if it does this grayscale to Object conversion we are talking about? I have Amorphium as I said, and the disc has files for a portrait head tutorial called "Kiki" but I can't find a trace of that tutorial in the manual or in any electronic documentation... it seems from the files that one was to map the Kiki face to the surface of a standard Amorphium ball and just tugged and pulled till it seemed to fit, not as helpfull as would be placing the face in the background for silouette, three-quarter and head on and punching and pulling to match it that way. I dunno. FYI the Cybermesh is $49 I think it is.

I don't get it... sidebar of my image? I'm talkng map painting not post-processing Poser preview image exports. I thought we were talking about the mesh lines on the Poser texture map templates, I didn't know if to assume our suffering coleague knew they were to be painted over or erased on the map, that they are there as painting guides for us and are not required by Poser itself when importing the map... Still, I grant you I may not be making sense. Thanks in either case though :)

i've been debating whether to shell out for it too, even set the money aside but can't bring my self to hit that Buy Button at Puffin. Can't decide, that Poser Book guy was so hot over it but everyon else is so cool on it. I tried Height Shop in Amorphium but get utterly useless results @$#!$&*^! I really want to do portrait mask props!

Lasso them. Look at other peoples textures, no one bothers trying to "stay within the lines". Poser just ignores color that fall out side those pixels mapped to the mesh.

Painter 3D hasn't been a blessing to me, I ONLY have used it when I had to paint detail over the seams as with ahir on the head. Item one: When you open the template Cut the mesh image and paste it to a new level. Now paint on the background or any layer below the layer with mesh... turn down the mesh opacity when you need a better view of what you are painting. Item Two: Irises, dark ring around iris (even in light eyes, dark ring where iris meets white (even in light eyes. Now you have thre rings of color., quite thin dark around pupil, quite wide lighter around that, and very thin dark around that before white. Put random flecks of color in the wide band. Pull straiations through wide band to outer dark band in a radial pattern using fine brush on smudge tool. Now pull striations from inner dark band into wide light band in radial pattern (this is very important). Now if you like you can "dodge" upper left area of striated wide band and "burn" lower right, use medium soft brush. Now use sharpen tool to make striations sharpere. Now add 7% noise or such if you like (I do). You can put moist catch lights in the pupil and at upper left of midle ring of iris, but I use eye props loaded up in Free Stuff under Moist Eyes. Item three: Placing photo etc on template, again make a wireframe layer and paste image on another layer over that at low opacity, scale and place, bring to opacity 100%, deleat wireframe layer, flatten. If you are using old or cheap software it should let you play with opacity before pasting. Since I only have Photoshop LE since my Mac died I have to scale each element in a seperate image, try pasting it, undo if the scale is wrong, change image size of source image and tra again. Tedious! but works. Hope all this helps. And please don't be offended if you already knew this, but the mesh on the templates is to guide your drawing only, it must be painted over or deleated from the image when your texture is done, you shouldn't be paintbucketing into it :)

The Poser Areolea are very small, Traveler has morphs at Morph World two for this. Also use Poser Droop if you have P4. Thanks for showing!
Thread: How about a f/x fatsuit for Poser figures. Any interest? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I am deperate for a nude fat suit. I've tried spawning a scalled version of Zygote Sumo Baby as a prop, I've tried spawning male genital and head as a prop to put on Traveler's Heavy Fem... nothing has worked right yet! I really covet the neck and under chin area on the Zygote Heavy figures and have thought of buying them just to use the heads as props on the Poser P4 figure. I would really apreciate your fat suit!! My advise (as a teacher of figure drawing) for making the suit more human is you fatten the upper thighs where they hit the butt, bring the belly right to the pectoral fat, and flaten the upperside of the pectoral to show its more flab than muscle. The body looks just like an ape as it is now, the subtly of the arms and the shape of the belly are totally fab! If in developing this you have some meshes I could just import and substitute for poser body elements wholesale I could use that. Is the reason for making it a suit rather than a set of props for use in another software, for animation, or just for the chalenge? Well, I'm waiting with baited breath in case you do have the time to work this up. Its generous of you to offer to share! `momo

Thanks. I've upgraded to Painter 5 for the masks and layering but as far as brushes etc. Painter Classic has more Painter 6 to it than Painter 5. I think the strong suite of Painter is its watercolor brushes rather than the oil brushes or so-called artist's brushes. I get the best dimensional painting from Painter by useing chalk and oil stick brushes and texturing after the fact with "apply surface" which is really under-explained in the manual. Usualy I use "Image Luminesence" from the Apply Surface pulldown but if you take a picture, clone it, blur the original (now the clone source) and apply surface "3D Brush Stroke" on the clone you get good effects. Also, cloning with the watercolor brush set small is really cool to, take a bit to learn but is a great effect! I don't think "painterlyness" is a real word, but we used it alot in art school. It refered specifically to bravura brush work and "juicy" paint aplication as opposed to the "architechtonic" neo-classical style often dispareged by artsy as "drawing with paint". As you might discern, there is still great party politics in painting: the Classists, the Neo-Realists, the Non-Objective Abstract painters, the Painterly Painters, and the Exprsionist and and Conceptual Painters. Thanks again.
