I found it. They have some really good looking stuff there, and the Roman segmented armor is close to what I was looking for, looks historically accurate for a soldier during the period after Christ. They would have worn segmented armor then, chain mail shirts before that. Thanks for the info! Gromit

In the case you're talking about, you would use Mover to decode the .PCF files you got with those props. My understanding is that the .PCF file only holds the differences between the original, Poser/Zygote figure and the new, modified figure, not a complete figure. What happens when you decode is that Mover takes the original figure file, which you must already own, applies the modifications in the .PCF file, and creates a new figure. That's my understanding, any number of more experienced people here would know better than me. Gromit
Thread: Posable props won't | Forum: Poser Technical
bloodsong, You got it! I renamed the .RSR file, tried it again. It worked, and the program re-created the RSR file when it couldn't find it. I suppose everyone but me knew it would do that, but I'm learning! Gromit

?? Can you make a camera "point at" an object the way you do a spotlight or other element? Never tried, don't do much animating either. Gromit
Thread: Posable props won't | Forum: Poser Technical
These props worked before when I first downloaded them. I played around with them a little at that time just to see how they worked. I checked the CR2 file to see if the path to the OBJ was correct, the only difference was that the folder name was capitalized. I changed the OBJ folder name to match the CR2. I had tried re-installing the files from the original ZIP, but I changed that folder name AFTER I did that, so does that mean maybe the RSR file is still the problem? I'll have to try re-installing the RSR again after I get home this evening (morning your time). Gromit
Thread: My first attempt | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I don't often use limits but I do look at them by double-clicking on the dials in Poser and comparing the values I'm using with the max and min values suggested. When I need twist in an arm, for example, I try to divide it up between the collar and shoulder. I use forearm twist to get the hand turned in the right direction. Look at your own wrist and you'll see that's where the actual wrist rotation occurs - between the elbow and wrist. I often bend the elbow to something close to 90 degrees BEFORE I try to put in the joint parameters, i.e. twist, bend, up/down in the upper arm, because I can see from my own body which direction the elbow should be pointing for the final pose, and it helps me see exactly where the point of the elbow would be on my figure so I can achieve that. When I get through with the upper arm, I pose the forearm/hand. I think you have a problem with the front/back value on your figure's left shoulder. If I try to grab my right arm with my left hand behind my back like that, I'd have to tear my shoulder out of its socket. No flames intended, just trying to be constructive. Gromit
Thread: transmap | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just created a trans map for the first time in order to make Vicki's bikini bottom into a thong. Since all it required was black and white, it was easy, I did it in Photoshop using the bikini texture map template. I created the cut-out shape in black for one side of the back, then duplicated that as a mirror image for the other side. Then I created a layer filled with white as the background for the transparency, to cover the map itself, flattened the image and saved it as a .jpg. It worked like a charm, and I didn't have to go to the trouble of creating a new prop. Gromit
Thread: Looking for props | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is a workman character in the free downloads section on this site that comes with a belt and a docker's hook. Go to Free Stuff and search for "workman" to see it. Gromit

There is also a policeman's belt at http://www.greylight.com/poserpersonal.html that might be a good start for a tool belt. Seems like I saw an actual tool belt somewhere, maybe I'll think of it... Gromit

It's not strictly a construction hat, but there's a miner's hat with a headlamp at http://www.greylight.com/poserheadgear.html Gromit
