For anyone who's interested, here's a thread specifically for discussing potential solutions.
Thread: DSON Importer Not Working in Poser 12 | Forum: Poser 12
I've created a new thread focused on exploring potential solutions. Thanks for the links, Adp001!
Thread: DSON Importer Not Working in Poser 12 | Forum: Poser 12
Well, luckily, I still have Poser Pro 11, so if push comes to shove, I can pose and clothe my characters there, export the result as a baked OBJ, and render it in Poser 12. The improved SuprFly engine, especially the increased speed, was the main thing I was looking forward to anyway. It's roundabout, to be sure, but at least I can still use my G8 characters while I work on a more direct solution.

Just FYI, it turns out I did not, in fact, recall correctly. Parmatic updates automatically as well.

Thanks for the kind words! Here's another sample image, rendered after a couple of texture tweaks. If you like what you see, it can be yours for free if you volunteer as a beta tester! If you're concerned about G8F's Poser compatibility, Willdial's solution for Genesis 3 carries over swimmingly to Genesis 8. If you can't beta-test this product yourself but know someone who might be interested, please do spread the word.

Actually, it would be quite easy to apply it to another figure, provided that you have a texture set that applies face and body hair via trans maps instead of having it all baked in. This was originally developed for Genesis 1, but I've only just now managed to reasonably automate the process of adding all the channels and dependencies to the figure, and since I've also just recently managed to get Genesis 8 working great in Poser, I thought there would be more of a market for a G8 version.
Thread: Activate G1/G2/G3 Clone Morphs in G8 Female! | Forum: Freestuff
Shoot! Someone at Daz just informed me that the rigging won't change with the shape, which means things will start looking really funky as soon as you start posing the morphed figure (at least for the males). I might have a work-around, though. If this generates enough interest, I'll report on how well it works.
Thread: Poser Crashes When Saving After Parameter INJection | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Upon further investigation, the problem may lie not in INJecting the ShaderNodeParms but in linking the material values to them. If I apply a version of the pose that doesn't apply the materials automatically but does everything else, then it doesn't crash when I try to save it. But when I then apply the material collection separately, the links between the shader values and the parameter dials aren't there
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I've sometimes experienced those links randomly breaking after saving a PZ3 or CR2 anyway, even before I began experimenting with creating those links via INJection pose.

Eureka! Changing the "Writable Runtime Folder" to the same content library did the trick!
Thread: Genesis 8 in Poser 11 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for responding, WillDial I saved the scene subset in DS and loaded the CR2 in Poser from the same content library. Clearing the DSON cache doesn't appear to have solved the problem.
Thread: Genesis 8 in Poser 11 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I got a posable G8 base into Poser using WillDial's process (minus the G3 updater), but many and maybe even most of the morphs appear to be completely non-functional, and some only partially so. Victoria 8, for instance, makes the figure a bit taller but changes nothing about its shape. The Bodybuilder morph works fine, but most of the other FBMs don't. Is it possible that the G3 updater is the solution to this? I haven't yet figured out what the consistent factor is that distinguishes the morphs that work from the ones that don't, though I suspect it involves the head. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, since I'd really like to get G8 fully working in Poser 11.
Thread: Update to BB's Max Scatter Trick for Poser Pro 11 SuperFly? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, BB, for joining us. I'm "stingy" about showing my shader simply because it's quite complex, but very little of that complexity is at all relevant to the SSS. I've created a couple of customized compound nodes (which I would need to expand in order to show the workings of the whole shader), and several nodes are just there to provide a means by which I can ultimately control certain aspects of the shader via dials in the Pose room.
I think I've figured out at least a rough solution. The key seems to be the Surface Color. This is what I get if I duplicate your setup with Andy.
Just as in your render, Andy's got the blues (pun intended) in a big way! However, if you duplicate the Scatter Color in the Surface Color and then make your Scatter Color just a bit pinker, the results look much better. There's still some desaturation (maybe even slight yellowing), but at least it's not nearly as blue-tinted.
Adding some Blinn has it looking like this...
And reducing the Mean Free Path to what I originally used in my cropped render of Victoria 5's hand coming out of a red flannel shirt has it looking pretty good, at least to me.
