Thread: How do I *STOP* ebots from going to my email? | Forum: Community Center
throws hands up in exasperation!
NO! - you're NOT getting what I'm saying!!
I have NO favourites artists - at all
I have NO subscribed forums - at all
I DO NOT receive the newsletters etc - at all
waves hand in a Jedi mind trick - these are not the ebots I'm talking about...
if I want to see if there's anything new on rendo, I go and check the various images and forums/galleries for myself, something I do daily.
I'm talking about the ebot that arrives to tell you whenever someone - purely at their own choice - comments or favourites one of my gallery pics.
As it is that's enough to choke my email addy in the immediate few days after I upload a new pic to my gallery. (Gawd help me if I got ebots for all the other things as well! )
Surely there must be a way to prevent these ebots from being sent, (If not - then there bloody well ought to be!!!!!!!!!!!) beyond having to physically block them in an alternate throw-away email address as I've done for the moment.
Doing this solves the ebot problem but also means that I wouldn't get any admin emails as well because I rarely check that email addy.

not really.... 2 of your screenshot pics don't work
I haven't got anything subscribed (newsletter etc) or have any 'notify' setting as indicated for the forums.
I want to block all the gallery ebots telling me that so-and-so has fav'd or commented etc. I really don't need those at all!
so far I've 'fixed' the issue by changing my contact email for rendo to a throw-away yahoo email addy and then blocked ebots.renderosity.com there! But that's not the fix I want.

Thread: Instant Messages/Site Mail notifications | Forum: Community Center
see..? I have just checked and there are TWO new sitemails in the inbox but there is no notifcation at the top of the rendo page or anything!
Thread: Instant Messages/Site Mail notifications | Forum: Community Center
NO NO NO NO ... NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
READ the first message again!
The problem is NOT knowing where the inbox is BUT KNOWING THAT SOMETHING IS IN THE INBOX IN THE FIRST PLACE!
I do not get a notification at the top of the renderosity page saying that there are 'X' -number of site mails needing to be read. I have to actually go to the inbox myself just to see if any are there by chance, rather that be informed that I have some new ones in there like in the old "IM" days....

Thread: image fade to transparent? | Forum: Photoshop
Quote - is that once you've erased pixel information, you can't get it back.
that's what the history/step back feature is for....?
Thread: image fade to transparent? | Forum: Photoshop
or just have the pic on a new layer, and use a really diffuse eraser brush to erase the unwanted bits...
or just make a new layer above the pic, have a colour to transparent gradient on it. ctrl-click on the layer icon to select all and then change back to the picture layer and delete, then trash the gradient layer.
saves all that mucking around with layer masks etc
Thread: why sow much badd speling heer? | Forum: Community Center
well, regrettably not everyone is fortunate enough to have been born in the USA, and to speak english as a first language, and to experience the great education system enjoyed by US-ians chokes a bit on that part
rendo' is an INTERNATIONAL site and the Internet is an INTERNATIONAL medium if you care to remember....
gets off soapbox and walks off muttering darkly about ethnocentric US-ians who think they own the whole damm place... and don't even get me started about US-ians using their State abbreviations and expecting the rest of the world to know where the frack you're from... mutter mutter mutter
