Wow that red/blue comparison is revealing. I sure hope Rendo had DAZ's consent to create a clone of their figure. Other than the obvious flaws already pointed out in this thread, there is no indication anywhere of who was involved in building this model. DAZ has a reputation for quality. Anton has a reputation for quality. "RPublishing" has no reputation at all (while R'osity has a reputation for selling any old crap), so why should anyone spend so much money on a figure when there's no way to be confident of quality?

The no-downloads thing bothered me, too. But Lynne's wildcats were just too amazing to turn down. My CD arrived in just a few days and I'm very happy with the purchase. Now I look at it this way: every other poser store charges for a CD copy of your purchase. The cheapest is $10 including postage. Have you seen what R'osity charges for an account CD burn? Looked at that way, Vista is offering a better service than any other Poser store online. It's only a short delay and you've got the CD forever.

True but on yahoo the list owners can deny that option. I don't know how the WW group is set up, but it is possible. That's why I won't join the group. I've got too much experience of people joining yahoo lists for the sole purpose of mining email addresses to spam.

It was a casualty of r'osity clearing out the "bdsm-related" stuff from the store. AFAIK they haven't put it up in an alternative store so your best bet would be to IM the artist.

Silverleif's carousel uses the P4 horse. Includes loads of merry-go-round textures.Thread: IBL AO lighting and Transparency? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Is there are transmap on the hair, too? Because that seems to be rendering okay. It's an obvious suggestion, but check the trans settings on the lashes and eye material (ie make sure it's set to 1 not 0). Apologies if that's so obvious you've already done it. Do you have any reflection settings on the eye cornea? Usually I would have the cornea diffuse colour set to black, the transparency 1 (in P5/6 check the trans falloff and trans edge settings, too - set all to 1) then add a specular or trans map. The white eyes made me wonder if that's a reflection rather than a trans problem...though it's a seriously strong reflection if that's it!

If you want to use Tailor, the best way is to use Morph Manager to copy the morphs you've injected to the BLANK CR2. It's an extra step, but it does make Tailor much happier.

It has to do with the way Poser saves a CR2. It will happen with any of the Gen3 characters at DAZ if you resave the CR2. There's a utility you can download (free) from DAZ called Dial Cleaner that is supposed to fix the problem, though I've never got it to work properly on a P5 file. DAZ's support for P5 is...well, lacking.
Thread: New Gallery PLEASE (and the postwork issue again) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
There is a significant difference between images that are postworked so much that poser is essentially just the "base", and an image that has been postworked to correct for colour cast, clothing poke-through, mesh breaks and suchlike. But by insisting on a "purity" of non-postworked images, you place both of these in the same category. And that is why requests like this never work out. If enough people are going to participate in a "no postwork gallery", you need to accept that different people will draw the lines in slightly different places. Especially since, if an artist is skillful at correction-type postwork, you (generic "you") wouldnt' be able to tell the difference anyway.

Hmm. I can see your point, but perhaps an added "genre" option would be better than an entirely different gallery? After all, both are Poser artwork. We don't have separate galleries for P4, P5 and P6, nor should we. So why force postwork distinctions? On the other hand, having a "no postwork" genre option would allow those who want to post in that category to easily find like images, without alienating everyone else.
Thread: V3 new generation 2005...any opinions? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Are you saying that with the new vicky that I can't do that? Not "out of the box". I dont' know anything about "morph channels" or how to manage them. SamTherapy gave the link to morph manager above. Each morph dial you see in a poser character has a corresponding "channel" coded into the CR2 file. This usually contains the information needed to make the morph work (the vertices). With the system DAZ created for the unimesh figures, the CR2 is supplied with blank channels (and these are invisible in Poser to start with). When you use an INJ pose, it adds the information to the CR2 and makes the relevant dial(s) visible in Poser. V3 New Generation uses the old/standard system of having her morphs already in the CR2 - no injection needed. However, Hmann also left out the blank channels, probably to save on file size, which means that normal V3 INJ poses don't work on the figure as she is sold. Using morph manager (which is free) you can copy the blank channels from your standard V3 CR2 to the V3 New Generation figure. This makes the INJ files work on her. It's really not difficult to do, just takes a little time. There must be a morph manager tutorial around here somewhere, but even if you can't find one the program is easy to figure out. I hope that helps!

The rib morphing can be softened using a dial on the chest body part.
