Thread: Minor updates to the Vue Forum | Forum: Vue
I second Don's comments because I use the information here a lot and it has helped me clear several Vue problems--thanks again Aqiel.
Thread: Backing up poser??? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
For windows I backup a complete image of my HD monthly to a USB HD using Acronis software. I can recover XP, all software and passwords in about 30 minutes. In the recovery process the HD is partitioned and reformated so it is exactly the same as at the time it was backed up.
Thread: Question about P3dO Explorer Pro | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I just checked I have version 1.7.5 pro . I checked texture maping under render and it works for me anyway. It takes a second or two maybe more on a slow PC. Good luck

Thread: Image and a question | Forum: Vue
Just for fun create a gray scale image of a spiral and load it in the terrain editor and tweak the procedural settings for noise and then txture it with bubles and foam,,,it might work and you will learn a lot even if dosen't.
Thread: How do you set up lights so... | Forum: Vue
Please note that the sky also affects the light on your figures, so go to the atmosphere editor and play with the settings for the sun, azmuth, and pitch and under the light tab move the slider for light and dark and the settings for ambient vs sunlight. There is a lot of control here you just need to learn how to use it. You can make changes here and rerender with out closing the editor to test your new settings it's very handy! glenn
Thread: I'm being screwed by Curious Labs andDigitalRiver! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
First take a deep breath and calm down. Sndcasie is right talk to a live person but being angry will only cause you to miss options. Second download Firefox at Mozilla.org it allows you to pause and restart downloads and although it dosen't always work it usually does. I too am on a slow 40K land line in a rural area where Verizon will probably not get in faster service for years so I know your frustration. i usually schedule these long downloads at night while I sleep. One last thought,,,I lost most my software thru an accident and the folks at renderosity and other places let me download it again after I explained my problem. So a download is not always a bad idea! Glenn
Thread: Conversion utility? | Forum: Vue
I can't help with the Bryce question but the conversion utility is a file on your original Vue 4 Pro disk set. It was sort of an after thought by e-on and it comes with a warning that it dosen't always work. And I have found that to be true. You start it directly and it sort of runs thru everthing in the vue folders and offten crashes. Have fun! Glenn
Thread: What is going on at E-on.....ahhhh | Forum: Vue
any spamer can get his email to look like it came from e-on. Go to e-on and change your pasword. I had one of these sessions from my ISP and the spammer used my pasword to use there server and send out millions of spam messages in my name and I got the returned ones back!!!!!!! My ISP and I changed my Password and all that stoped. Glenn

Thread: 2 ?'s Way to get fog at mountain top level and... | Forum: Vue
For your mountains pick one of the materials that seems close to what you want and then edit the material it self you can use gradients or procedral colors and textures and color pictures as well. The possible combinations here are endless. Right click everything in the editor and you may be suprized by the things that you can edit or add new functions too.
Thread: AAAAARGH!!!!! | Forum: Vue
I know how you feel it happened to me a few times with inadequate backups. I hope you get it going again or can recreate it; then go online to Acronis.com and get True Image. I made a true image of my disk and stored it on my WD portable drive. Last week I got the blue screen of death on w2k and had it all restored in one hour. All I lost was a few freebies and some art I had created since my last backup increment. Disk images can be created on any size dirve providing they are large enough and even CD's or DVD's but it will take a lot of these. Incidently you get the exact HD you had before Passwords and serial #'s and software too. Goodluck
Thread: Vue and V3 Changing Ponytail | Forum: Vue
Don't know if this will help or not but I have had simalar problems with various hair pieces and one thing that has worked for me is change the parent of the hair object to the head and check the box inherit the movements of the body. then save it and then re-import it. I don't know why this works and it is not 100 percent, i found it out by accident.
