Thread: Bryce6 ready HDRI's? | Forum: Bryce
Dosch Designs sent me two light probe files to test in Bryce 6 and they work just fine.
The ones they sent me are from this package:
http://www.doschdesign.com/products/hdri/Extreme_Hires_DVD.html
If you buy any of their HDRI files, make sure you get the HDRI - Light Probe versions.
Of course, this also means that their HDRI Finish program will make Bryce 6 compatible light probes:

Unfortunately, the program is Windows only, but the HDRI files are cross-platform.
AS, would you please add this to your HDRI listing for B6? Thanks.

Thread: Announcing the Bryce Concepts Gallery | Forum: Bryce
Okay hun ... I've enabled the debug mode on the gallery. Please try again and hopefully you'll get a more complete error message this time. If so, please post it here so I can better figure out what is happening.

I've been trying to figure out why this is happening but am coming up blank. I'll keep poking around though.
Thread: what a pain in the a** this site "redesign" is :D | Forum: Community Center
I get redirected to the marketplace everytime I click on an e-mail link to take me to a thread someone has replied to. I'm getting a bit irked about it.

trying to think of what might be causing this. Do you have javascript enabled in the browser? Could a firewall or popup blocker be blocking the page?
Thread: Bryce 6 - Exporting Booleans (Finally!!) | Forum: Bryce
Trees can't be converted or exported because they are based on metaballs and currently metaballs cannot be converted or exported. There's a bit more work involved in converting metaballs to a mesh than booleans because of the way metaballs work.
Flak ... some insane person actually modeled a cathedral in Bryce? What were they thinking? Musta been a newbie trying to prove something to herself ... er ... themselves.
And no, I don't think they worked on the OBJ export thingy for imported OBJs, but I can't be certain.

Thread: How do textures map in Bryce 6 converted boleans. | Forum: Bryce
Bryce does some basic uvmapping but it's not always a good basic mapping. It might be helpful to bring the exported mesh into UVMapper to weld the seams and tweak the uvmaps.

dlk - try setting the selected resolution down a notch to 16 to see if that helps with the export.
Remember, for exporting converted boolean groups, you do not need to use the Easter Egg export. Instead, use File > Export Object from the menu.
And, as Veritas found out, Bryce lights cannot be exported and will prevent the conversion from happening properly, if at all.
So, make sure your final object has no Bryce lights, trees, metaballs, infinite planes, or neutral objects/groups.

Belle, I got the same error when I forgot to select a gallery and used the back button to select one.
If I uploaded the image and clicked on continue after getting the success message, and selected a gallery and filled in the info, then clicked on Continue .. it worked.
Would you please try again and make sure you're selecting a gallery and not using the back button?

You can submit as many images each month as you wish and there are no restrictions on it having been submitted elsewhere.
At the moment, I have a small limit on how much total space users have for uploading, 1024 KB, but I'll probably increase that some as we go. However, I only have 500 MB of webspace so I may have to put out more cash to increase that depending on how popular the gallery is. Guess I should start saving my pennies or skip a couple of meals. :P
There's a link at the top of the gallery page to the submission rules. They should cover any concerns/questions you have.
Thread: Studio animation into Bryce | Forum: Bryce
Just remember that if you break the link to DS for an animation, then the animation will be deleted from Bryce. This is because the files are actually stored in the .daz file, not in the .br6 file.
Bryce is literally using DS as a plugin for imported animation purposes.
