Thread: Looking for script to Lock/Unlock the Camera in Daz Studio | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Try mine. It was meant for figures, but it does work on cameras.

Thread: Correct path to unzip files into with Daz Studio ? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I have setup my DAZ Content directory, so that none of it is stored on the C: drive in my private profile. I do this because:
1. If I update or reload Windows, I do not have to worry (as much) about wiping out my content.
2. Is easier to manage directory permissions, do backups, and relocate the Content to another computer.
3. The DAZ content directory can get quite large, which is why I do not recommend storing it on C:. If you run out of room on C:, you might not be able to boot your system. It is a good rule of thumb to keep your data (DAZ, Financial, Personal, Porn, etc.) on a separate drive from the operating system and programs.
Setup your DAZ content directory where YOU think it best belongs, then adjust DS, DIM, and DAZ Central accordingly.

One more thing - The DAZ content directory can get quite large, which is why I do not recommend storing it on C:. If you run out of room on C:, you might not be able to boot your system. It is a good rule of thumb to keep your data (DAZ, Financial, Personal, etc.) and operating system/programs on separate physical drives.

For my answers "DriveLetter:\" means any drive except C:\.
CMS Cluster Directory: C:/Users/Marc/AppData/Roaming/DAZ 3D/cms - DriveLetter:\DAZStudio\cms
DAZ Connect Data: C:/Users/Marc/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Daz Connect Library - DriveLetter:\DAZStudio\DS4Content
DAZ Studio Formats: C:/Users/Marc/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library
C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library - Leave alone, should be empty.
C:/Daz 3D/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library - Leave alone.
Poser Formats: C:/Users/Marc/Documents/DAZ 3D/Studio/My Library - I have no Poser content anymore. I used to use DriveLetter:\Poser\Poser7.
C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library
C:/Daz 3D/Applications/Data/DAZ 3D/My DAZ 3D Library
Use file explorer (the folder icon) to move your content to its desired directory.

This may or may not be helpful. I have two drives on my system C: and E:. My system and programs reside on C:. I never store data on my C: drive in my profile. All of my data resides on E:. This makes backups and system re-loads simpler.
On E:, I have a directory called "E:\DAZStudio\DS4Content" which is where I install content from DAZ, Renderosity, ShareCG, etc. After setting up your content directory, you need to "tell" DS about it using the "Edit-Preferences" menu selection (see attached).
When you download a .zip or .rar content from Renderosity or ShareCG, unzip it into a temporary directory, then navigate down the tree until you see content folders like data, People, Runtime. etc. Move these folder to your content directory (in my case "E:\DAZStudio\DS4Content").
I have DAZ Central setup to download my content purchases to a temporary directory. After downloading, I move the content to "E:\DAZStudio\DS4Content". Setting this up has become quite complicated. It used to be very simple a couple of years ago.
Thread: Looking for dForce layering help | Forum: DAZ|Studio
See the above image. Make sure that the "Collision Layer" of the outer garment is greater than that of the inner garment. If you are using D-Force Hair, normally it should have the highest "Collision Layer" value of all clothing on the figure.

nakamuram posted at 12:21 PM Thu, 17 February 2022 - #4434890My advice was to you and others, WendyVainity. I should have used the quotes.yes but OP does not have a Nvidia card so is using only their CPU regardlessIf you are rendering D-Force Strand-Based Hair and are running out of GPU memory, try reducing the hair's "Render Line Tessellation Sides". I have found that this really helps to get the GPU to do the "heavy lifting" while rendering.
NVidia should fix IRay so that it manages the GPU's ram and keeps it from maxing out and giving up. Instead, they are selling new cards with more ram for ridiculous prices.

Inhervisions,
Have you tried Filament at all? It is the simplest alternative to IRay and 3Delight and is readily available to DS Users via the latest DS upgrade.
Or you could try using Blender Cycles and mcjTeleBlender2 (I am not sure if it is still being supported):

Inhervisions,
IRay is the "standard" renderer is DAZ Studio. It will run very slow if you do not have an NVidia GPU. 3Delight used to be the "standard". As far as I know, it is slow because it is completely CPU-Based. Filament is now available in DAZ Studio. It is supposed to be fast, but the IRay/3Delight materials need to be tweaked for it. It may be fast, even on a system with CPU-based graphics. These links may help, but you can search the DAZ forums for more info:

I do not know if there is much you can do with processor-based graphics. Most people who use DAZ use an NVidia add-in card.
DAZ has the Filament Engine. Have you tried it? I know that you do need to make modifications to the textures, but I think there is a product that will do it for you.
