I have had difficultuies loading Daz figures using the Reiss plug in. Not willing to give up yet; wondering if anyone else has had the same problme to offer possible solutions.
Thread: Has anybody made a Poser American Eskimo dog? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I needed such a dog to pull my sled to capture an artifact before the bad guys did. I use the DAZ MilDog+morphs to get a sort of rotund looking Alaskan Malamute. I imagine that you can create real fur (P5 or P6) using the hair room or displacement mapping.

Thread: problem with rendering poser 6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In my P6 experiences so far rendering 1024x768, the computer appears to crash (no activity onscreen, not responding in the task manager) when in reality it's rendering. Requires LLLLLOOOOOOTTTTTSSSSS of time to do its thing. And no surfing the web on the same computer.

I like the stuff from Utilize, perfect for the sophisticated, cosmopolitan Mil3 figures that make more money than I do. Correct me if I'm wrong but you can transfer morphs from characters to clothing using The Tailor or (better still for free) Morph Manager.

Post three - looks very cool, especially the outsides of the neck and around the scalp. Regarding post 15 (16? too much barley and hops soda), would you use this in bright light as well? bowing I'm not worthy!

Thread: If you can't post here 'cause of the TOS, you can always try this..... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"His preferred creative outlet, graffiti on trains, was growing more difficult due to greater security so he decided to branch out into infiltrating museums." God, that's genius. Scary thing is that his nome de plume is very similar to my real last name. Is it in my destiny to pull such stunts?

Mec4D, if you please, a little clarification. Are you suggesting and IBL+poser light or two poser lights mimicing IBL? Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried what stewer suggests in the post above (using gather to create "global radiosity"), but so far it has worked very well in "local radiosity"/color bleed context. Now, how to apply this to a NJessiFairyIanambientoccluded/dirtynutsTWAtrollandS.....
Thread: Poser 6 - A disappointment | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Spent most of the day rendering the same scene over and over again, 1024x768, (large mirror) reflection, raytraced, AO, IBL. Saw no results, and "Poser not responding" in task manager. Hard re-booted several times.
Then thought "self, why don't you just let it do its thing". Turns out that "Poser not responding" meant it was doing intense number crunching and needed time to create the solution. Yes the same render (with periodic updated minor tweaks on P4 3.2 gHz, 2.5gB RAM while surfing the net on different system ;) took a good 45 minutes each time in my case. The point is that maybe a hang is not a hang at all....

I second Little Dragon's statement; Poser 6 does not see "two" processors, BUT task manager shows only 50% utilization when putting P6 through its paces (80% primary thread, 30% secondary thread)

Opera, not coffee, Red Bull. I've had five today! Heaven forbid the FDA finds something wrong with Red Bull. I've got stock in that company. Per: firefly assembly level, I will still render outdoor scenes in V5I for ecosystems, trees, etc., but I am absolutely impressed with the quality (read: non-clayness) of the IBL - it makes Poser a completly different program. And yes, P6 with the bells and whistles I've used so far is REALLY fast.
