Sorry! I just found out it won't be on sale until early on the 14th. I apologize for any inconvenience!

Hey, Dan! Didn't recognize the new nick. I'm working on something now that will need a tester in the near future, I hope. Still trying to work out the level of detail and how much I want posable. I can give you a holler in about a month, if you have the time.
Nice to hear from you.

Quote - Sigh,Background pictures still doesn't auto fit to rendersize. They do fit to preview and Poser4, but not when rendering in Firefly mode.I wonder when this will be fixed.
After setting up your scene, delete the BG pic, save and exit Poser. Reopen and go directly to Render Dimensions. Set the dimensions, THEN load the fullsize BG. Render. It works.

You're too kind, GG! Glad to meet a friendly Southerner (southern hemisphere, that is).

Thanks! Great to see you, Dan!
I'm considered a Poser person now, but I just can't get Bryce out of my blood. I've tried transfusions!!

Thread: prob with texture | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, a couple of observations. First, that texture template above is not a template, but just a bad picture. Things like the eyes and tongue need to be moved away from the skin, and given their own materials. The screenshot shows the texture applied to Preview, which probably means no materials have been assigned.
Go through the steps in that tutorial, then if you have any specific questions ask them here or in the other thread. We'll get this sucker mapped, or die trying ;)

Thread: 2 quick prop questions - (question for propmakers) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Heck, I hadn't even considered that. Just got done updating a few Bryce tuts, and don't have any Poser up right now at all :(
I'll put that one on the list.

Good point, nomuse! I used to have a tut on doing just that (external OBJ). There are now utilities to do that, so I took it down. Think it's still relevent?

You're welcome!
The only difference is that you would go to Render--Materials to apply the maps. Everything else is same as P4.

Go to File--Import Object--Wavefront OBJ. In the dialog that comes up, leave everything checked and type in a percentage of figure height for the prop. Position and scale it to fit Mike's head.
Now, if you want the prop not to show the scaling, but come in next time as 100%, export the prop as OBJ, checking top option in that dialog. Leave others checked. Delete your original and import the new one. This time, UNCHECK all boxes on the import dialog. The hat will appear just where you had it.
One more thing to check is the center point. If it's off, the hat will rotate around a point in space instead of itself. With it selected, open the Joint Editor. A green cross should appear somewhere on the screen. If not visible, type in 0.000 in all the Center Point locations (X,Y &Z), and pick it up off the floor. Use two ortho views to place it, then close the JE.
Be sure to parent it to Mike's head. Apply the texture in the MAT room, and then save it to the library as a smart prop.

I think the carrier looks nice, Gordon. Thanks for using it, and providing a link!
It's not a use I envisioned for it, but I do appreciate really bad puns ;)

If you're using Poser 4 or Poser 4 Pro Pack the instructions above apply. As I said, I think Poser 6 saves these okay now, but it was always a hand edit job in previous versions.

I think this was fixed in P6. When you save as a subset, Poser skips the smart prop thing. Save one wing as a smat prop, then open that PP2 file in WordPad. You'll find a line something like: smartParent: chest:1
The file with both of them will have two lines that read: parent: Universe. Paste the smartParent line over these. Make sure the number after the body part matches (chest:1 above) the number used in the file (the prop name should have the colon and number at the end).
You'll need to save the files as uncompressed if you are using P5.
