Darth, I hate to throw one more barb at it, but here you go...the lack of shadows doesn't help either.

Milaja, I wasn't suggesting the USA was the whole world...I just said using those particular tactics was the American way. Japan isn't the whole world either, but sometimes I cook my meals the Japanese way :)

Well, if some one comes down on you for using their stuff without crediting them, you can always do it the American way. Deny Everything Admit Nothing Demand Proof Make Counter-accusations JonVon could have avoided all of this by just demanding MICOgames prove their side. JonVon REALLY didn't have to prove ANYTHING to them, and he didn't have to reply to their emails. If you're going to accuse someone of theft, YOU have to prove they stole it. JonVon's biggest mistake, whether he was guilty or not, was replying to the accusation in the first place. And MICOgames biggest mistake was accusing someone of theft in a PUBLIC FORUM without proof. And rest assured, just because a render looks like it MAY have been done with their texture doesn't mean it WAS.

JonVon, why not just post the FACE part of the texture? Just crop out the rest of the image, and maybe stamp the word "sample" in tiny letters on the cheek. That way you can still have your own original texture, without distributing it. It'd only take you a few minutes to do. If someone wants to try and match it up against Mico's, they can just paste the face onto a standard Poser 4 texture, and render it for comparison. The problem would be solved, Mico would have to apologize, and your original texture would still be exclusively yours. If that's not good enough, you can mail me the texture, and I'll PERSONALLY create two renders, one using your texture, and another using Mico's, then delete your texture from my hard drive. I don't personally care a rat's ass about EITHER of you, so I'm GUARANTEED to be an impartial judge. Sound fair? Damn, I could give King Solomon a run for his money, huh? ;)

I have a font I found somewhere that is just word balloons. You pick the one you want and apply it just like text.

Thread: "Evolution" in the Adult Section **Offensive Post** | Forum: Community Center
No prob, Baz. When I was in the military, I learned that the best way to make sure there were no enemies in a room is to toss in a grenade to clear it out. That's what I did with the Evolution pic. My way of ferreting out the people who'll complain despite the warnings, so I could show them what they're in for. I like to put the cards on the table right from day one. As anyone can see, the room, now cleared, contains pretty much mainstrean erotica. But that "grenade" served it's purpose. It was a loud and clear warning..."be prepared for ANYTHING". I actually have an idea for several images that I'll be posting there that are of an "unusual" nature. And hoo-boy, just wait until "Mosca" from the Poser newsgroup finds this place...he has TONS of Poser bondage images. Not to mention Christine Allison might just bend a few minds with some "chix with dix pix"...

I've removed the image. It served it's purpose. So Baz, why don't you just drop it? You read the warning that there might be objectionable material there. You went there, looked at it, and were offended. Seems like you stepped on a dog turd after passing the "WARNING! DOG TURD AREA" SIGN. Don't expect the rest of us to wipe off your shoe. Live and learn, Baz. When you ignore the warnings, you LOSE your right to complain about the consequences. You didn't like what you saw there. So don't go back. It's really that simple.

And the same to y'all. Of course, being the troublemaking scoundrel that I am, I'm having a barbecue instead...convention be damned! And this year I think I'll give thanks to C'thulu as my deity of choice! C'thulu and barbecue...perfect together!
Thread: For Thorne and others RE: Faerie Post...part 1 | Forum: Community Center
Gotta agree with Jack on this one. It's a touchy subject but should be addressed. The actual US laws prohibit depictions of children involved in acts of a sexual nature, as well as LEWD display of their genitalia. I'd say the second category would apply to, say, a picture of the Olsen Twins giving us a spread beaver shot. I figure it means that the nudity has to be secondary to the actual main intent of the image. I know it's a bit tricky to judge this sort of thing, but hey, let's cut right through all of this straight to the bone. We're not all DUMBASSES here. There's a difference between the LETTER of the law and the SPIRIT of the law. The artist's INTENT here is fairly obvious. It's a depiction of a waifish little fairy, and I see NOTHING sexual in it at all. Personally, I can see that folks might think it's a pic of an underaged girl, too, but to be honest, the scale of her secondary sexual characteristics doesn't exclusively indicate that she's even under age. Pardon my crudeness, but HELL, I've banged women in their THIRTIES with knockers that size, but that doesn't make me a pedophile. Her face looks pretty young, but my wife looks younger than her, and she's 28. What it boils down to is THIS; some folks LOOK for an excuse to start flinging their feces. They aren't OFFENDED...they're THRILLED to have an opportunity to screech like the little BITCHES they are. Thorne, keep up the good work. And for all of you out there who like screeching and bitching...just wait until the adult forum is up and running. The first pic I post there is gonna REALLY piss you off!

Gotta disagree with ya there, Nance. I've seen folks whittle away with Morph targets for weeks without capturing the look they want. Hell, I've done it myself. No matter how much you whittle away on that damn Poser male dork, it's harder than Chinese algebra to make it look like an actual person. It's probably easier with the female model, if only because she doesn't look as much a dork. I personally spent weeks and weeks trying to make one look like a specific character, and it was a pure-dee case of extreme futility...until the lightbulb lit over my head, and I abandoned the morph targets and opened up my paint prog and started working that texture. I'm not saying not to chuck using facial morphs, I'm just saying that texturing is of EQUAL importance if you want to make a Poser figure look like an actual person.
